| House of Lords Restaurant | Coralville, IA | |
|
The House Of Lords is part of the Cantubury Inn, and was
voted the best restaurant in Iowa City (by someone). My husband
and I went there for
our wedding. It was awesome! He had beef wellington, and I had
some thing with Lobster, Chicken, and rice.
It was the best restaurant I've ever eaten at (but what do I know).

| Farmous Dave's Bar-B-Que | Cedar Falls, IA | |
|
Great atmosphere, wonderful music, whimsical bathroom, huge
portions, delicious New Orlean's style B-B-Q!
The ultimate Barbeque experience in the Cedar Valley!

| Brown Bottle | Cedar Falls, IA | |
|
The Brown Bottle has been around for almost 30 years, and has
kept it's reputation as Cedar Valley's premier Italian
Restaurant. This is a good place to take your sweetheart for
a romantic dinner.

| Casey's Pub | Waterloo, IA | |
|
Best pizza in town, Casey's Pub is a fun place to socialize and
have a drink. They also have great Grinder sandwiches, at an
affordable price.

| Pizza House | Cedar Falls, IA | |
|
This place is pretty shabby, and if you can get past the loud
spine tweaking music, you can get yourself a pretty decent pizza.
I especially like the beer flavor in the dough, and the option
of shrimp as a topping. My dad use to deliver pizzas for them
in the 60s, but honestly the quality of the food has gone down
in recent years.

| Tony's La Pizzeria | Cedar Falls, IA | |
|
I admit I'm still a little bitter since the dude from Tony's bought
Steb's to convert it to a "binki beach bar", however I will
also admit that the food is pretty darn good. I skip the pizza,
but the sandwiches and pasta are nice to the tongue. This
is also a booty bar, so if you like techno dj music, and scantly
clad college chicks, you'll feel right at home.

| Mainly Lou's | Cedar Falls, IA | |
|
I think it is admirable that the pasta here is made from scratch,
but it lacks the spice that I'm looking for in Italian food.
The atmosphere is nice though, a bit shabby, and if you
are opposed to being annoyed; STAY AWAY FROM WEDNESDAY NIGHT
KAREOKE!!!

| Waffle Stop Grill | Cedar Falls, IA | |
|
Waffle Stop is the ultimate greasy spoon, hometown diner! It
is a fun and popular place with a grill (no fryer), so instead of
french fries you get hash browns (with your choice of mixins').
The staff is friendly, and you sit at a counter and watch your food
being prepared right in front of you. It's always crowded, and
it's always delicious!

| Garfields Cafe & Catering | Waterloo, IA | |
|
Homestyle cookin' just like grandma use to. Garfield's has yummy
American foods like open face turkey and mash potato sandwiches,
and great tenderloins.
|
||
| Steamboat Garden | Waterloo, IA | |
|
SteamBoat gardens is a fun diner with awesome tenderloins. It
is very popular here, and for good reason! The food is just good
downhome American style! The best are the tug boats (which are
little tenderloin sandwiches, perfect for kids).
|
||
| Sub City | Waterloo, IA | |
|
Best subs anywhere! True New Jersey style subs with tons of different
choices (capicola, prochuitto, salami, even Coleslaw which
is great on a sub).
Fresh baked breads, and fresh veggies. I love Sub City!

||
| Z's Restaurant & Lounge | Waterloo, IA | |
|
z's is just off of airline high way (and coincidently a block away
from my home) so if you happen to be at the air port, and have an hour
to kill, come on down. Chicken, Seafood, tenderloins... typical
Iowa fare.

||
| Carlos O'Kelly's Mexican Cafe | Waterloo, IA | |
|
Generally this is Americanized Mexican food, but nonetheless
pretty tastey. My favorite dish is Chicken Picada (buttery garlic
sauteed chicken, with monteray jack cheese, tomatos and green
onions wraped in flour tortillas). Fortunately I have learned
how to copy this recipe at home through much trial and error so
I haven't been to Carlos O'Kelly's lately.

| Golden China Restaurant | Waterloo, IA | |
|
My husband took me here on a whim one day. I don't like mushrooms,
and forgot to ask them to omit them for me. Nonetheless, it was
probably the best Chinese I've eaten around here. I love the puffed
cracker things that you get with the egg drop soup. It's hard to
communicate with the staff however (which is a good sign 'cause
they're really Chinese), but I saw some Mexican's cooking in
the kitchen. Hmmmm.

||
| China Wok | Cedar Falls, IA | |
|
Great buffet! My husband was hooked on this place for awhile.
I would love to go on Sunday when they have CRAB! (mmmmmm....crab
legs)
|
||
| Olde Broom Factory Restaurant | Cedar Falls, IA | |
|
The Ole Broom Factory is actually an old broom factory which was
converted into a restaurant. It has a beautiful atmosphere,
and really good food. It's the kind of place that people go to when
there is something very important to celebrate. (I wish my husband
would take me there... :0(

||
| Donutland | Cedar Falls, IA | |
|
Donuts and good coffee too!
This is a cops dream, open 24-7, and right on the edge of town smack
dab in the middle of the crusin' strip. If you are a criminal stay
away!
|
||
| Da Vinci's Pizza & Hoagies | Ames, IA | |
|
The sandwiches at Da Vinci's are delicious. I love the wheat bread,
and the fresh veggies.
|
||
| Bergens Country Dine | Traer, IA | |
|
I remember this place from when I was a wild teenager. I stayed
up all night with my friend who lived in Traer. It was 6 AM and we
were hungry. We only had about 3 dollars (but still managed to
eat). It was the kind of place that you can go to hear farmers talk
about crops (or something). I will never forget it.
