| Tony Packo's Cafe | Toledo, OH | |
|
Finally, a friend took me to this restaurant. As a fan of a good
dog or sausage, I had high hopes. I had the misfortune of ordering
more food than I can eat! The hot dog sauce grew to be quite peppery
towards the end of this meal. I would certainly not point anyone
away from Tony Packo's.

| Cafe Marie Restaurant | Toledo, OH | |
|
Service at the Maumee location left something to be desired one
early afternoon. Interesting twists on your traditional breakfast
items. My Eggs Benedict were overcooked, but the flavor of the
rest of the meal was fine. Perhaps they don't want to give
me undercooked eggs, despite my request.

| Fifi's Restaurant | Toledo, OH | |
|
Excellent flavors. Great presentations. Each dish managed
to be better and better. Servers appear right when you need them.
Spend a few hours and a couple extra dollars and visit Fifi's.

| Yoko | Maumee, OH | |
|
With one of our first experiences in Japanese cooking, we decided
to try Yoko. At first it was intimidating because I knew nothing
of what I was doing. The servers quickly made us more comfortable
by informing us on items, portions, and little extras.
Miso soup, sushi and rolls were among the items we tried; all of
which were excellent. Price is good considering the amount of
items one can sample, or plain make a meal out of. I will return
to Yoko.

| Peppercorns | Perrysburg, OH | |
|
Every experience I have had at Peppercorn's has been great. Generous
appetizers and dinners allow you to walk out with a full belly.
At times, dinner specials are not terribly creative, but you're
sure to find a menu item to satisfy. Quiet, dark atmosphere adds
intimacy whether dining alone or with guest(s).

| Jed's Bar-Br-Que & Brew | Perrysburg, OH | |
|
Fun staff, cold beer and 70s/80's rock make this a fine establishment
to grab a burger or some Fireballs and watch the game.

| Matthew's Creative Cuisine | Toledo, OH | |
|
Every item that we tried was excellent. From the escargot with
pesto butter to the pork loin to pasta to house salad, everything
was wonderful and nothing like your average restaurant. Each
course came slowly, but the three hour dinner was well worth it.
Front of house staff was helpful, pleasant, and accomodating.
Dining room is elegant, but feels slightly stuffy. Do not expect
a cheap meal here, however, it is worth every penny. Overall,
a beautiful dining experience.

| J Alexander's | Toledo, OH | |
|
This is a fine dining atmosphere that accepts the casual diner.
The white tablecloth/napkin and decked out servers makes for
a nice presentation of the establishment. We were there one day,
underdressed in my opinion, and they accepted us! The open kitchen
allows the customer to have a good view of the action. Food was
excellent; large portions and beautiful presentation. Dinner
salads cost extra, but they are huge. One can easily get by without
the salad. Anything on the menu is worth a try. For the most part,
very friendly and prompt service.

| Ciao Ristorante | Sylvania, OH | |
|
We were seated at a booth in the lounge/bar, which didn't exactly
have the most 'fine dining' atmosphere that I was led to expect
from this restaurant. I would prefer the dining room next time.
The menu has plenty of interesting Italian dishes. My girlfriend
was quite the big fan of the portabello ravioli's. I had grilled
shrimp with orzo, which was pretty tasty. My overall experience
was nothing extraordinary. However, I would definitely give
them another shot.

| Mancy's Steak House | Toledo, OH | |
|
In the early '70s, Mancy's was completely destroyed by fire.
It was rebuilt, though, retaining an old, rustic feel. From the
parking lot to the table, the atmosphere is beautiful. Dim lights
and cozy booths make for a fine dining experience.
I would have to disagree that this should be under Italian restaurants
as the menu has a variety of mostly steak and seafood. The wide
selection kept me wondering what to eat. I'm a sucker for escargot
in mushroom caps (which Mancy's does a damn good job on), so we
had those while we decided. Entree's here can get expensive,
but the food is most definitely worth it. From a kitchen manager
of a steakhouse, I highly recommend Mancy's.

| Maumee Bay Brewing Co | Toledo, OH | |
|
The Maumee Bay Brewing Co. is absolutely worth a visit. Come on,
how can you pass up a luscious microbrew??? The lounge has a nice,
relaxed atmosphere with a fine view of brewing equipment. Crab
bisque and Shrimp & corn chowder were the soups at the time (I don't
know if they change) and both flavors were excellent. In addition
to those soups, the menu has some other interesting appetizers
and dinners. Service was friendly and overall, it was a very good
experience.

| Mcintyre's Restaurant | Bowling Green, OH | |
|
Patrick R.'s omelette sent him to the restroom. However, my chili
dogs were quite tasty. The delivery was prompt and friendly.

| Saba's Charcoal House | Toledo, OH | |
|
From the outside, Saba's looks like a hole. Once inside, your
opinion will change. We've always been greeted by a very friendly
hostess, and all but once, had excellent service. The atmosphere
is quiet and comfortable. I love the wrap-around style booths.
Food presentation and portions are great. You must try the escargot
in mushroom caps. Highly recommend this restaurant.

| Croy's Supper Club | Perrysburg, OH | |
|
Croy's menu, from what I remember, was rather extensive. They
had some tasty appetizers...one can never go wrong with the escargot.
As for an entree, the beef tournadoes are excellent. The server
was friendly, but didn't seem to have much knowledge on the dinner
and wine features. This place is definitely worth the try.

| Erin Pub | Norwood, PA | |
|
Fun atmosphere. Long waits on the weekends, but they cut a fat
prime rib. Service was not very friendly. Can't say it was bad,
but nothing to write home about.

||
| Bridget Foy's South St Grill | Philadelphia, PA | |
|
Cannot say enough about this restaurant. Not many people knew
about it, and the ones that did weren't impressed. The place was
great...atmosphere, service, food, beer, everything.

| Shaw's Restaurant & Inn | Lancaster, OH | |
|
Very beautiful restaurant! The menu has extensive choices,
from cheap to expensive, and you'll probably find what you want.
My girlfriend's steak was excellent...my tilapia (sp?) wasn't
bad. Service was very friendly and professional.

| East of Chicago Pizza Co | Bowling Green, OH | |

They done closed down in Bowling Green.
|

| Sam B's Restaurant | Bowling Green, OH | |
|
Nice restaurant. Quality food, but rather overpriced on some
items. Service is good at times and terrible at times.

| Sierra Room | Grand Rapids, MI | |
|
*Interesting* atmosphere. This is fine dining, yet casual.
The service was extra friendly, especially since we arrived
rather late (I'm a cook, I know what it's like!). I sampled all
of everyone else's dishes and they were all beautiful. If you
smoke, just to see they're collection of thrift shop ashtrays
is entertaining.
