| Round Table Pizzia | Hanford, CA | |
|
The last time our family ate at Round Table, our extra large pizza
was overcooked to the point where the toppings were scorched.
The salad bar was minuscule, and you only get one trip to it for
more money than you could spend at the Sizzler next door, where
it's not just salad on the "salad" bar, and trips to it are not limited.
That said, the feature which saved this restaurant from being
a total waste of money and time was their garlic bread. It's inexpensive,
and a tray about the size of a medium pizza is filled with a luscious
combination of garlic, herbs, and cheese on Italian bread (think
thick pizza dough). It's definitely enough to feed a family,
and both looks and tastes sinfully delicious! The ambiance is
really non-existant, with the decor resembling 1950's style
coffee shop decor, without the nostalgia. There is no table service
(order at the counter, and pick up when called), and seating is
limited. Would we go back? Well... When I get a craving for the
garlic bread, you bet we'll go back!

| Boston House of Pizza | Lemoore, CA | |
|
Like most pizza parlors, this is an order-at-the-counter establishment.
There is a room of video machines for the kids (of whatever age...),
and place to accomodate large parties-a softball team consisting
of 12 preteens along with their coaches and parents was accomodated
with no trouble. The food is very good, and they offer specials,
both for lunchtime, and on promotional coupons (check your latest
phone book). The staff is friendly and efficient. Boston's has
only one drawback-there is no delivery service. It is situated
in a small strip mall, and has limited parking. It's definitely
worth the trip!

| Jade Garden Restaurant | Lemoore, CA | |
|
The ambiance at the Jade Garden is very good. Unfortunately,
the food (mostly Cantonese) is only average, and portion size
does not match what is expected for a Chinese restaurant. Because
it is situated in a large shopping center, there is plenty of parking.
For what you get, the prices are not a good value.

| Vineyard Inn Restaurant | Lemoore, CA | |
|
Good coffeeshop type food, and plenty of it. The French dip is
excellent. There is a counter, and a large dining room, parts
of which may be partitioned off for large parties, whether family
or business. The service is friendly and efficient. They have
luncheon and dinner specials, and a Sunday brunch. The Vineyard
Inn is a pleasant place to dine for the entire family.

| Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant | Los Angeles, CA | |
|
Excellent Chinese food, good prices, large portions, specials,
convenient location (less than a block off Hollywood Boulevard)...
How could you go wrong? The ambiance is lovely, and the staff friendly.
Try the appetizer sampler. One dish that is on it is bula maka-skewered
strips of lean beef, marinated in Hoisin sauce, which you cook
over an open flame at your table. Absolutely yummy! Besides the
regular Chinese fare, the soups are really delicious: egg drop,
wonton, sweet and pungent, sizzling rice, etc. The daily specials
are truly special, both in price and excellence of flavor.

| Ocean City Chinese Restaurant | Lemoore, CA | |
|
Excellent Chinese food and plenty of it! Eat in, take-out, but
no delivery. Situated in beautiful downtown Lemoore, Ocean
City is not a fancy restaurant, but the food is hard to beat. Broccoli
beef, pineapple chicken, wonton soup, chow mein, etc., all are
extra tasty. The combination dinners are enormous, and if you
eat in, you WILL need to take home leftovers. The staff is pleasant,
and the p[lates heated. The decor is almost "institutional, "
but if you want a great meal, this is the place! Parking is available
both on the street and in a lot at the end of the building. Calling
ahead is recommended when ordering take out.
