| Szechuan Taste Restaurant | San Francisco, CA | |
|
My date and I had five entrees and they were all very good. Bill was less
then $28. Decor is modest. A neighborhood restaurant with prices that
are also modest. I will return when in the area and I have already recommended
it to friends.

| Taiwan Restaurant | San Jose, CA | |
|
I've eaten lunch in this restaurant once on a Tuesday. It has a fancy
upscale atmosphere and prices are on the high side for entrees. However
they have a nice choice of lunch specials for about $7 each. My companion
and I had a three course menu of soup, salad, and entree for a total of
$17 for the two of us. The food was excellent and as good as I have had anywhere.
Service was very fast and courteous, including the busboy picking
up dishes at the end of the meal. I highly recommend and I will return.

menu and business.An Italian family owned business.

| Huong Lan Sandwiches & Noodle Soup | Milpitas, CA | |
|
Many sandwiches around $2 each. Rivals Lee's in quality and price.
very popular with Vietnamese clientele. Not many seats and table.
Much business is take out. This is a small chain with about 5 locations
in the bay area.

||
| Pho Nam | Milpitas, CA | |
|
Most entries are under $6.00. Very good food and good value. Very customer
service oriented. Has other restaurants by same name in Sunnyvale,
CA and Fort Worth, Texas.

||
| Pho My | San Jose, CA | |
|
Typical Vietnamese restaurant with slightly above average prices
due to being located in a higher priced area. Most entries cost about
$7.50. Offers traditional Vietnamese salads and offers Vegetarian
dishes. Wide selection of Vietnamese beverages. Located near Blossom
Hill Road.
|
||
| Pho 909 Restaurant | Milpitas, CA | |
|
Above average Vietnamese restaurant of the very low price variety.
Pho is very good. Nothing fancy in the decor. Located in Park Victoria
by the Ocean Super Market. Better parking then you find in many of these
Asian strip malls.

| Jerseys | San Jose, CA | |
|
Decent Cheese steak sandwiches. I've had the real thing in Philadelphia.
It's a sport's bar and the name also comes from the fact that
they are Philadelphia Eagles fans.

||
| Fu Kee | San Jose, CA | |
|
Most items priced from $5.25 to $8.00. Average quality. Ordinary dining
experience. Located at Santa Teresa Blvd next to Kinko's. Title
on menu is "Fu Kee Chinese & Asia Pacific Rim Delicacies".
Seemed to be overstating their case to me.
Has a second restaurant at 121 Bernal Road #50, San Jose.
|
||
| Palermo Ristorante Italiano | San Jose, CA | |
|
A decent but slightly high priced restaurant in downtown San Jose.
Very heavy but elegant atmosphere. Food could be described the same
way. Al la Carte items were priced at $14 to $22. Wines are not cheap.
I did not think the food remarkable and I would not go out of my way to eat
here.

| Fratello's | San Jose, CA | |
|
A delightful surprise in a non-descript shopping mall. Very intimate
and friendly. Genuine Italians cooking and serving the food. Reminded
me of the best Italian restaurants in little Italy in Manhattan, New
York City. Cozy little bar is very entertaining place to wait for your
table. I had reservations but there was still a wait. Most items in the
$12 to $15 range.

| Pearl Garden Chinese Restauratn | San Jose, CA | |
|
Very good Chinese food. I believe new owners (2006) are Vietnamese,
but I haven't noticed any change in the menu other than the prices
went up about 15%. Service is always good. Food way above average. Best
place to go in the Almaden Valley, Blossom Hill, Santa Teresa area.
Provides take out in addition to fine sit down dinners.
|
||
| Nam's Chinese Food Take Out | San Jose, CA | |
|
I only had one take out entry and it was not satisfactory so I won't
return and that's the reason for the low rating. This place is located
in the PW Supermarket strip mall at Via Valiente on the Almaden Expressway.
I recommend the Chinese take out on Meridian Avenue at Redmond, about
three miles north west of this place.
|
||
| Erawan | San Jose, CA | |
|
Average entry is $7, but many are in the 9 to 11 range. I don't know
much about Thai food and I've only eaten here once. I liked the food
and service and the ambiance was pleasant. Parking is easy and convenient.
One of the better Asian restaurants located in the Almaden Valley.
|
||
| Italo's Pizzeria and Pasta Restaurant | San Jose, CA | |
|
This is a hole in the wall in a strip mall. In addition to the pizza and
pasta, the place features "Oven baked Super Sandwiches".
I had the Italian saucage hero and it was great. It comes with "Italo's
Special Sause". Service was fast and courteous. I've returned
several times. I'm relectant to give it anything other then an
average rating because I've only had one item here. But that sandwich
was well above average.

||
| Tony & Alba's | San Jose, CA | |
|
One of about a half dozen of these restaurants in the bay area. Above
average pizza but nothing special.
|
||
| Tony & Alba's Pizza & Italian | San Jose, CA | |
|
No longer at this address. Relocated to 5885 Santa Teresa Blvd which
is about 2 miles away. Phone at that location is 408-227-8669.

| Kim Tar B B Q | San Jose, CA | |
|
I wonder why the reviewer included BBQ in the name. The restaurant menu
calls itself "Kim Tar Restaurant". Looking at the menu,
I don't see any BBQ on it. Very large menu with every Chinese dish
you could imagine. Most entries in the $5.50 to $7.50 range. I had lunch
there and the sevice was very fast. all of the customers except for myself
were Asian, mostly Chinese with a few Vietnamese. Very fast service.
Food seemed about average to me. Atmosphere was hectic and rushed.
|
||
| Liou's House | Milpitas, CA | |
|
Average entry is priced at $8.50 so this is a relatively high priced
Chinese restaurant. Judging from the large number of spicy hot dishes
on the menu, I am guessing this is a Hunan style restaurant. I recognize
many of them as being Hunan speciaties. Can't rate because I haven't
eaten here yet.
