Cafe Lolo Santa Rosa, CA
This place is great. The menu consists of your typical "California Cuisine." We started with the Ceasar salad (split) and it was good, but not special. I had the swordfish with fruit salsa & french fried shoe string potatoes, my date had the Sonoma County chicken on mash potatoes with vegetables. Both dishes were prepared to perfection, the swordfish being a tastier dish IMHO. The wine list is QUITE extensive, with both European (Italian & French) as well as American wines. Wine prices are quite varied, with a low of $19, and a high of around $100. We followed dinner with an excellent and bountiful Creme Brulle' and topped it all off with a glass of Taylor Fladgate 20 year old port. Service was impeccable. Recommendations HIGHLY recommended. All forms of dress acceptable, from jeans to formal dress. (typical California "formal")
Old Chicago Plzza Petaluma, CA
Best deep dish pizza in the Bay Area... Bar NONE. Divine double crust pizzas, if you don't mind waiting 45 minutes for it to bake. Good personal pizzas for lunch at a good price. ($5.99 with salad & drink last I checked)
Kyoto Restaurant Rohnert Park, CA
Some of the best sushi in the county. Fun atmosphere, good entree's.
Guaymas Belvedere Tiburon, CA
I have eaten here three or four times, and each meal has been spectacular. I have taken friends here, and they were equally impressed. The seafood is divine.
Nan Yang Rockridge Oakland, CA
An excellent restaraunt. For those of you tired of the usual chinese style meal, try this place. The garlic noodles are spectacular. The wine list is small, but the selections are above average. The somosas are mediocre, the hot & sour soup is HOT but very good (try the Zinfandel with the soup), the Green Papaya salad is quite good.
Acapulco Restaurant Alameda, CA
A very good basic Mexican meal. I like the chicken mole and tamales. The ambiance is a little dark and dank. I have always received excellent service. The hot sauce is excellent. I often go back just for that and a beer.
