| Bailey's Restaurant | Park Ridge, IL | |
|
Bailey's is a great place to eat! Big booths, or nice tables. Across
the street from the new Walgreens (used to be Thompson's)and
the Lincoln/Mercury dealership.
Just like home cooking. Good sized servings and very nice wait
staff. Clean with lots of parking

| Basta Pasta | Park Ridge, IL | |
|
Big HUGE bowls of very tasty pasta dishes. Not ordinary at all.
Parking can be a problem if you don't use the valet service. Decor
is great. Noise level is pretty high though - it's the wood floors

| Black Ram | Des Plaines, IL | |
|
The Black Ram is a great place to go for a "special" lunch or dinner.
Their pasta salad is made with mostaccioli, sun dried tomato,
asparagus, etc. It's to die for. The Black Ram Steak is a skirt
steak nicely seasoned and served with a small Greek salad on the
same plate. They have a wonderful French Onion soup. The dinner
prime rib is huge and their breaded pork tenderlion is wonderful.
Service varies by the day and wait staff. A little pricey. Atmosphere
is cozy and clean. Friendly greeting staff

| Cafe La Cave | Des Plaines, IL | |
|
Nice atmosphere. Very nice dinning room or the "Cave". The cold
potato soup (I can't spell the real name of the soup) is sooo good.
I never thought I would like it, but you have got to try it if you
are ever there. I had the Shrimp Diablo appetizer. I could've
had that for dinner - it was really good. I've had a few lunches
there and always was very happy with the entree. It's always very
good.
Service is top notch, the wine list is very good. Very pricey

| Ching Hua's | Des Plaines, IL | |
|
This is a great lunch place for people who work in the DesPlaines/Rosemont
area. Service is quick and friendly. They remember their regulars
and their favorite dishes. The diet soup is great - I get the rice
noodles with all vegetables and all the plumb sauce. Very nice.
Mongolian beef is decent. Prices are good and the portions are
nice sized.

| El Famous Burrito | Des Plaines, IL | |
|
El Famous has a wonderful menu - all made to order. Great prices
and large portions. When they say football sized burritos, they
almost mean it. Their chili is a little thin, but still very tasty.
Tacos are good and packed. Tamales are very good - sometimes a
little dry, but the tasty lemonade takes care of that. Actually
I order the chile mix the tamale in it. The menu is varied and the
5 or 6 items I've tried are very good. Parking at lunch time can
be a hassle because it's in a busy strip mall. They don't have enough
tables to handle some of the lunch rushes, but they do their best
to get your order befor you even make it up to the register. I've
been out the door and had my order taken.

| Elmwood Family Restaurant | Elmwood Park, IL | |
|
Great family neighborhood restaurant. Open everyday for breakfast,
lunch & dinner. Carryouts are available. Full service bar, counter
service, booths and tables. Wait staff varies but usually very
good. The specials are really good. Saturday's beef stew is my
favorite. Sunday's Cream of Chicken soup is my daughter's favorite
and my husband could eat there everyday. Get there early if you
want the special - call Dennis and he'll let you know what it is
for that day. Lots of tables
Parties up to 45 can be accomodated but they aren't private because
it's in the bar section.
NO PARKING LOT
