Due to the location of this restaurant at Marina Bay in QUincy,
I am almost tempted to give it a better rating than deserved.
The atmosphere of the marina makes this an excellent spot for an enjoyable evening out.. However the food is average for the price range.. My suggestions it go for their appetizers such as the calamari or rolled eggplant. Completely skip the ceasar salad unless you like the taste of pure mayonaise. Desserts are excellent. However, I wouldn't count on feelings as though you they appreciate each customer's visit during the summer-time. They extremely busy. They do not take reservations and the wait can be 2 hours. |

| La Boniche Restaurant | Lowell, MA | |

This restaurant located in downtown Lowell has an easy elegance
about it. We had made reservations, and when we first walked in
, we had to wait a bit for the hostess to not only answer, but and
complete a phone conversation before seating us 20 feet away..
Although the restaurant was approximately half full for the
evening, the two of us still managed to get seated by the restroom
corridor. This seemed to be a problem only for their setups for
two people, because their tables of four+ were spread out nicely
on the other half of the restaurant.
We started off with wine. I was disappointed at the lack of selection. We ended up choosing one of the two finer reds available. Stagg's Leap Cabernet. When the server brought out the bottle and wine glasses, I noticed that the type of glasses were not made for this type of wine (small and cheap) which are commonly found in a Christmas Tree Shop. These exact wine glasses have a multipurpose in this restaurant, which is that they are also used as their votive candle holders on the tables.. However, it gets better. We started with the soft shell crab appetizer over fettuccini, with grilled shrimp. This was superb. Which was followed with the Caesar salad, and then the entree's. Seared tuna, and seafood risotto and my companion had the pasta special, with roasted eggplant, sundried tomatoes.. A definite 10! We completed it with the Chocolate Flan. Which again was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant. The entree's were reasonably priced from $17 +. Overall, even with the minor issues, I highly recommend it as one of the top restaurants to go to in the Lowell area. |
