This restaurant, unfortunately, is no longer in business but
a new restaurant recently opened at this location. When I have
a chance to try it out I will write a review.

| Deer Island Gate Restaurant | Morris, CT | |
|
It is deep regret that I must inform you that Deer Island Gate Restaurant
served its last meal on January 27, 2002. This popular restaurant
had excellent cuisine, a great view of Bantam Lake and a staff
who were attentive and caring. The owner, Deborah Griffith,
told me on our last visit on January 26 that it was time to open a
new chapter in their lives. She and her husband, Chris, have operated
this restaurant for many years and are looking forward to a lifesytle
that is less demanding. The property has been sold and will not
be operated as a restaurant. This is very unfortunate as they
had a very loyal clientele over the years and will be definitely
missed.

| Pizza & Pasta Warehouse | Torrington, CT | |
|
Not sure where this address came from as this street is in a
rural/residential area and there are no restaurants there.
This
restaurant, Pizza & Pasta Warehouse, was located on the Winsted
Road and is no longer in business. It is now the site of Amarillo
Steak & Seafood.

| J & M Pizza | Wolcott, CT | |
|
We have gone to J & M Restaurant many times over the years and
find their food to be of good quality. Their portions are
enormous and they offer daily specials such as twin lobsters
for
$12.95 and 32 oz. prime rib for $12.95. Unless you want to stand
in line and wait it is advisable to get there early.

| The Cracker Barrel | East Greenbush, NY | |
|
We have stopped at this Cracker Barrel Restaurant
many times since it opened about 4 years ago. We
ate here a couple of days ago and found it to be very
good. My husband had a country fried steak, I had
the roast beef dinner and our daughter had the chicken
pot pie. Included with all dinners are freshly-baked
biscuits and cornbread and two vegetables. This is
real "down home cooking"! Breakfast is served all day
and is delicious. Every restaurant in this chain is
decorated in a similiar manner. There are antique
artifacts hanging on the walls...such as farm implements, old
household items and pictures of things
from days gone by. Really brings back a lot of memories. Sometimes
you have to wait a little while
for a table but it is o.k. as it gives you time to
browse in their country store gift shop which always
has some interesting items.

| Chuck's Steak House | Farmington, CT | |
|
I have dined at many of the restaurants in this restaurant
group and, although they vary in atmospher and decor, they are
all equal in great service and food quality. Each restaurant
has an abundant salad bar and this particular site has one of the
largest. My husband usually has the porterhouse steak and I
have the prime rib. They are always cooked to perfection. The
only thing that I don't like about this restaurant is that you
have to climb stairs and it isn't very handicapped accessible.

| Prince Arthur Stk & Sfd House | Yarmouth, NS | |
|
Several weeks ago we had a wonderful dinner at The Prince Arthur
Steak and Seafood House. We chose this restaurant because it
was
close to the motel we were staying at. Earlier in the day we
had taken the ferry from Saint John, New Brunswick to Digby, Nova
Scotia and I fell all the way down a flight of stairs while going
down to get our car. We didn't want to venture too far for dinner
because I wasn't moving too well. This proved to be an
excellent choice! I had delicious Prince Edward Island mussels
for an appetizer and succulent Digby scallops for an entree.
The service was outstanding. The perfect ending to an otherwise
terrible day!

| Church Street Steak House | Saint John, NB | |
|
On a recent trip to Saint John, NB we had the pleasure of dining
one Saturday evening at The Church Street Steakhouse. It is
located about a block from the Market Square area in the harbor
area....a quick walk from our hotel. The restaurant is in an
old building that has been very skillfully turned into a beautiful
place to dine. We were seated on the second level but
I think that there is a dining area on the ground floor. We
both had delicious prime rib that was served ala carte and didn't
include a salad but did include our choice of garlic mashed
potatoes. The service was very attentive.

| Woodshed Restaurant | Moultonborough, NH | |
|
On a recent visit to Lake Winnepesaukee we dined at The Woodshed
Restaurant. They had a twin-lobster special that evening and
all
four of us enjoyed it. It is located in an old farmhouse with
an attached barn. We were seated in the upper level of the "barn"
and, with the exception of the lighting being very
poor, it was very comfortable. The lobsters, priced at about
$23.00, were very good. We were served bread that was baked in
a clay flowerpot and was excellent! We decided to have the
indian pudding for dessert. The two men had the regular-sized
portion and the women had the mini dessert. Both were very
good.

| Putney Inn | Putney, VT | |
|
We stopped at The Putney Inn on a recent early Sunday afternoon
on our way home from New Hampshire to Connecticut. We had dined
there many years ago and found it to be very good. We decided
to have the prime rib and it was an excellent choice. The meal
included the salad bar which was abundant with fresh vegetables,
salads and several kinds of bread. Our prime rib was served over
very good mashed potatoes alongside tasty seasonal vegetables.
The service was topnotch. We felt very welcome there from the
moment we entered until we left.

| Olive Tree Restaurant | Woodbury, CT | |
|
We just returned from having a wonderful meal at The Olive Tree.
My husband and I both decided to try the prime rib and we weren't
disappointed. It was cooked to perfection and so tender and
flavorful. We began our meal with the soup of the day which was
shrimp chowder, a thick hearty soup with lots of shrimp combined
with just the right proportion of potatoes, celery and seasoning.
My husband chose the rice pilaf which looked very good and I
enjoyed the potato skins. Other choices were baked potato or
pasta. Also included with the meal was a delicious fresh salad
with a variety of greens, local tomatoes and other vegetables.
It was topped with their own dressings. The service was super
and frienly. We will definitely return here for another great
meal.

| Bickford's Family Restaurant | Avon, CT | |
|
We recently took my father-in-law here for breakfast.
Although they do have a breakfast buffet on the week-ends, we
went on a Monday holiday and weren't aware that they had extended
it another day. The waitress didn't inform us and we weren't
seated in that area so we didn't see it. It was only as we were
leaving the restaurant that we saw the sign. We ordered off the
menu and the food was very good. Our service was prompt and
the prices reasonable. We intend to return soon to try the breakfast
buffet.

| Main Course Family Restaurant | Litchfield, CT | |
|
This restaurant has been in business for many years and has
had several owners. The original restaurant had a miniature
golf
course in the back...hence the name the Main Course. I used to
take my children there to eat and play mini golf when they were
young....over twenty years ago. Recently I had lunch there with
my mother and found the food to be quite good. She had a salad
plate that included seafood salad. I had the grilled ruben sandwich
and it contained a generous amount of corned beef. A
very tasty meal at a reasonable price.

| Lenny & Joe's Fish Tale | Westbrook, CT | |
|
Lenny & Joe's Fishtail Restaurant is famous for its excellent
seafood served in abundance. It is a very busy place and I would
advise you to get there very early for dinner especially on the
week-ends. We almost never go there in the Summer because of the
crowds. The whole fried clams are about the best that I have
had anywhere and they have excellent clam chowder served in a
mug.

| Log House Restaurant | Winsted, CT | |
|
The Log House Restaurant has been family-owned for many years
and is a favorite place for people in this area to dine. It is
down-home cooking. On Sunday mornings beginning at 8:00 they
have a fabulous buffet with such offerings as homemade hash,
eggs
cooked several ways, bacon, sausage, pancakes and many, many
more. Great food at a reasonable price.

| Margaritas | Canton, CT | |
|
Margaritas (formerly Margaritaville but the name was changed
because of a lawsuit from Jimmy Buffett claiming that he had
a monopoly on that name!) has been in business at this location
for many years and we have always had wonderful food here. We
recently took our grown daughter here for her birthday and decided
to eat upstairs in the lounge. Although the food was of
the same high quality it has always been, the service was very
slow probably because the waitress was covering too large an
area. The atmosphere in the lounge was relaxing and we enjoyed
our evening there. Very good Mexican and Southwest menu.

| Villager Restaurant | Kent, CT | |
|
On a recent Saturday my daughter and I decided to explore the
many shops in the center of Kent and had lunch at The Villager.
There were many tables outside but they were all occupied so we
went inside. We didn't have to wait for a table, but they were
so busy that we did wait a very long time for our orders to
arrive. My daughter had a grilled vegetable sandwich which she
said was quite good. I ordered a grilled ruben sandwich and found
the corned beef to be very tough and hard to chew. The
have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu and I intend to go
back in the near future and give them another try.

| Boomerangs Steak House | Moncton, NB | |
|
We saw Boomerangs Steak House advertised in several brochures
we picked up while traveling in New Brunswick and stopped to
check it out on our way back from Prince Edward Island to
Saint John one rainy night in September. We had THE best prime
rib we have ever had any place here in the states! Wonderful
meal, pleasant service and great prices, especially when you
take the favorable exchange rate into consideration.

||
| Reggie's | Saint John, NB | |
|
Reggie's in located right next to the City Market...a great
location. We have been going to Saint John for many years and
always ate breakfast in the hotel dining room. On the last
trip, however, we found Reggies and this will be the place we
will always have breakfast! Very friendly place....you go to
the counter and order your meal, find a seat and wait for them
to call your name. Great food and great prices!! The dining
room is very nostalgic with a tin ceiling and walls that are
covered with lots of interesting photos.

| Grannan's Seafood Restaurant | Saint John, NB | |
|
Grannan's Seafood is located in the city market complex adjacent
to the harbor and the downtown area....very convenient to The
Hilton where we always stay while in Saint John. Very popular
restaurant....especially on Saturday evenings. We actually
had prime rib here the last time but have had their seafood and it
is exceptional.
