| Mi Tierra | Waltham, MA | |
|
When you walk into this restaurant you may want to turn around due to
the decor. DO NOT TURN AROUND. Go and sit down, you will be so surprised
and delighted. This is a Guatamalan restaurant (dine.com doesn't
have that as an option for restaurant type do I picked as close as I could).
This is definatley a cheap eats restaurant. I went with a group of 13
and we ordered just about everything on the menu (we each paid around
$15 each). Tha papusas are delicious (kind of an empanada with cheese
and pork)and I also loved the plantain dishes. The rice with crema was
really good too. If you are coming on a date you may want to wait for the
third or fourth date because the atmosphere is not at all romantic,
but if you are looking for really great food at a really great price this
is definatly the place to go.

| Korean Barbecue Restaurant | Burlington, MA | |
|
The decor is nothing special but the food is! This is a great little korean
bbq. Here you cook the meat right at your table. The meat is always well
marinated, tender and juicy. I love the scallion pancakes and veggie
tempura for appetisers. At lunch you can get daily specials as well
as lunchboxes. The service is friendly and helpful. For BBQ dinners
you have to have a min of 2 dinners.
Even if you have to drive a bit its worth going here.

| Casa Bella Inn | Pittsfield, VT | |
|
This establishment is owned by a husband and wife team.
The husband/chef is from Italy and here you truly get authentic Italian
cuisine. When you walk in you are greeted as a friend in this charming
inn by the owner Sharon who was originally from England. You are made
to feel as a very special guest in the chef's home. There are daily
specials. If you visit ask if the chef has made cheese that day. Many
days he will make fresh cheese. The wine cellar is very good as well.
They grow some of their own produce and herbs and get the rest locally
so you will get what is in season. Maybe 12 tables in this restaurant
so you will always have personalized service.
Great place for a romantic dinner. Although families are welcome here,
I would not classify it as a place to bring the kiddies.

| Boma Flavors of Africa | Kissimmee, FL | |
|
The is probably the best restaurant I have ever eaten at even though
it is a buffet. The food is downright amazing. Don't let the fact
that the food is African stop you from going here. When my family and
I were there we had (just to name a few) a seafood soup that was to die for,
Salmon wrapped in banana leaves, Roast pork, and handmade chocolates
and desserts. Definately the best Disney Restaurant and I have been
to most of them. The Kenyan coffee at the end finished off our meal. They
also have a children's section for those who have children who
are not as adventurous with their food as mine is.
To Sum it up GO GO GO
PS Make your reservations early (before you leave) to make sure you
can get a table. Many times especially during school breaks the restaurant
is booked.

| Chopsticks Hibachi | Leominster, MA | |
|
I think this is still the only tapanyaki in the Twin city area. The show
begins as soon as your chef reaches the hibachi. Knives flash and you
will inevitably be treated to a flaming volcano. The food is generally
well prepared (be sure to speak up if you want your steak cooked less
than med well). Dinners start with soup and salad and include veggies
rice (fried rice for a surcharge) and dessert. Both kids and adults
can enjoy themselves here. Great place for a girls night out or a birthday
party dinner.

| Denny's | Leominster, MA | |
|
I mainly go to Denny's for their latenight food. This Denny's
is open 24 hours so at 3am I am grateful for this place. Their hamburgers
are some of the best I have ever had in the area. The waitstaff is always
friendly and helpful. I really like their coffee too.

| Longhorn Steakhouse | Leominster, MA | |
|
As far as chains go, this is one of the best. The steaks are great and I
love the prairie dust on mine. The specialty drinks are pretty good
(no worse no better than any other chains watered down drinks). If you
go and don't like steak try their salmon, its one of my family's
fav's.

| Fitchburg Airport Restaurant | Fitchburg, MA | |
|
Great little diner for breakfast and dinner. This diner is right at
the airport so on Saturday and Sunday mornings you can watch all the
private airplanes take off and land. Kids love this! The restaurant
is open for breakfast and lunch. The food is very good and a great value.
Many of the daily specials are homemade. The last time I was there I was
treated to a wonderful homemade clam chowder. Two can generally eat
breakfast or lunch for under $15 and be stuffed on the way out. If you
want a little more fun, forego the table and sit at the counter and talk
to the cook. He is a hoot.

| Al Dente | Leominster, MA | |
|
Good little family restaurant serving traditional Italian fare as
well as brick oven pizza's. The food here is good, although sometimes
it can get a little heavy from the sauces which are liberally applied
to the pasta, but the prices are good and its a great small establishment
that you can take your family to. Service tends to be a little on the slower
side so try not to be in a hurry when you go here.

| Asian Imperial Garden | Lunenburg, MA | |
|
Asian Imperial Garden serves up both Chinese and Japanese as well as
sushi. The sushi is what my family goes for the most. The sushi is always
fresh. I have seen them throw out whole pieces of fish if they don't
think it is up to snuff. If you want a sushi that isn't on the menu,
go ahead and ask. They will make it for you. Many times I don't even
order anymore. I just say surprise me because that way you get something
totally unique. The restaurant got their liquor license about a year
ago and now serve coctails. I love their scorpion bowls and mai tai's.
For lunch you can get a great deal with their sushi lunch specials. It
comes with a salad and soup and enough pieces of sushi to fill you.
Overall I would definately recommend this restaurant.

| Border Grille & Bar | Leominster, MA | |
|
I've been going to the Border for many years now. The menu is good.
Think Mexican meets Southwest meets Cajun. Nothing spectacular but
it is decent and you won't get a bad meal. The servers try hard but
many nights the restaurant is really crowded so you may wait a while
for your drinks and dinner. Thankfully they give you salsa and chips
to hold you over.

||
| Bombay Tandoor Grill | Fitchburg, MA | |
|
Definately one of the best restaurants for Indian food. If you don't
want super hot they will adjust the heat of the food for you. They will
also help you walk thru the menu if you are new to indian cuisine. My little
one and I love going to this restaurant. They make great mango lassies.
Or if you prefer you can BYOB. Service is always great. You never wait
for a server to come to you, they are always watching to see if you need
anything. They have a dinner for two for around $35 that is so huge you
get another two meals out of it. If you go you will love it!

| Cafe Fleuri | Boston, MA | |
|
Brunch on Sundays at Cafe Fleuri is absolutely wonderful. Carving
Stations, Omlet and Crepe Stations, Raw Bar, and a million other offerings.
There is even a separate section for children's offerings. Champagne
is served to adults at brunch. The staff and the service are beyond compare.
One of the finest in Boston in my opinion. If you want to go for Mother's
Day or Father's Day be sure to call in your reservation at least
a month in advance as they tend to sell out. Brunch generally runs around
$50 with a surcharge for holiday brunches.

| Ixtapa Cantina | Lunenburg, MA | |
|
Ixtapa has been open a while now. With your average Mexican American
Fare on the first couple of pages of the menu, the real jewels are in the
back of the menu. Authentic Mexican cuisine. My dining partner and
I went last week. She chose the Pork Carnitas and I chose the Carne Asada.
The pork was mild and melt in your mouth with a tomato and chili sauce.
The Carne Asada is a Charbroiled skirt steak, that was tender and juicy.
Some nights you will see a Mexican Mariachi Band. Service here is quick
and efficient and friendly. I love this place and the friendly staff
and great food keep me coming back.

| Slattery's Back Room | Fitchburg, MA | |
|
Family restaurant but the pub can get loud sometimes especially on
Thursday night from the college crowd. The steaks are good and the service
is friendsly and accomodating. Good place for a business lunch.

| S S Lobster Ltd | Fitchburg, MA | |
|
If you are looking for a fancy sit down restaurant, this is not it. SS
is a lobster in the rough kind of place. The food is generally good, but
the restaurant does have a tendancy to have dirty restrooms. You can
always take cooked food to go. Thats what I generally do. You can generally
get the twin lobster special for around $19.

| Family Pizza | Leominster, MA | |
|
Pizza and More at this pizza place. They deliver as well as do take
out. Chicken Salad is wonderful full of meaty white chunks with
just enough mayonnaise and spices. Pizza is good but only average.
Buffalo wings can be ordered dependent upon your taste buds or
lack thereof. Mild to XXXhot. They also do pasta dinners and such.

||
| Clear River Inn and Tavern | Pittsfield, VT | |
|
The food here is generally good but nothing spectacular. Typical
tavern fare. Once the sun goes down on the weekends it gets quite
crowded with locals. The drinks are very good and the bartender
is quite attentive so your glass is never dry that long.
<br>
Out back there is a large green area to have an outdoor gathering.
This restaurant has changed hands fairly recently so we shall
have to see where this place goes.

| Brennan's Restaurant | New Orleans, LA | |
|
While we were in New Orleans we stopped by Brennans for their famous
brunch. I loved the brandy milk punch! It is a brandy and cream
drink with a dash of nutmeg sprinkled on top. The eggs sardou were
wonderful and the bannanas foster was the best part of the meal.
|
||
| Cafe Du Monde | New Orleans, LA | |
|
After a night on Bourbon Street, beignets and the cafe's famous
coffee hit the spot. Open 24 hours.
