Sudbury Inn Bethel, ME
This was supposed to be a really nice place! Dinners ranged from $13 to $20. Here is run-down of happenings:
Atmosphere was pleasant: quite and dimmed lighting. The food was good (comparing this restaurant to ones in its league)
The service was .... well for lack of a better word .... BAD! Our glasses were continually empty; there was a LONG wait on the bread; only several appetizers were available; then something happened that blew my mind: I got the check!
I was charged for a different dinner than the one I had initially ordered! So, when the waitress comes around again (a good while later), I pointed this out. Her response was that I had ordered the more expensive plate! I know I ordered the lesser plate because my wife and I had made a comment about the dish. I even pointed to it on the menu when I ordered it! Both dishes were steaks. Hey, I see a steak in front of me and I eat it! So, what happened to the customer is always right??? She didn't offer to fix it or anything. This was the first time in my life that I have not tipped!! It was pathetic!
Mothers' Restaurant Bethel, ME
This is definitely one of the better places in Bethel! Dishes ranged from about $10 to $18. I found the Crocker Pond Chicken to be very tasty! The service was good. An all-around good experience. If you're in Bethel, check out Mother's!
Sunday River Brewing Co Bethel, ME
This is a great "lodge-type" restaurant with pretty good food at reasonable prices. On this night, we had a burger and nachos. Nothing fantastic, just good food! Prices ranged from about $6 for burgers and sandwiches to $13 for pastas and entrees. The atmosphere is pleasant. The service was a bit slow.
Beer enthusiasts will enjoy the large variety of beers!
Pat's Pizza Yarmouth, ME
These guys have pretty good pizza! We ventured in for lunch and found their lunch specials to be very well priced and their pizza to be very tasty. Service was slow but the pizza made up for that :)
My wife had a lobster roll. It was good ... no frills. If you're looking for a low-cost lunch, check out Pat's pizza!
Finish Line Pizza Bethel, ME
Well, sad to say that I did not try the pizza! We did, however, have wings. These were some of the hottest wings I have had but they were good! I didn't catch the price on pizzas but their wings ranged from $6 for 12 wings to $9 for 24.
Young's Lobster Shore Pound Belfast, ME
This is your basic lobster eatery! You really can not go wrong with lobster in Maine (especially on the coast). We had twin lobsters (about 1 1/8 pounds each) with the fixings for about $20. Don't forget you can order lobster by the pound (if you want to skip all the side items). I'm sure the price varies but it was about $6 or $7 per pound during our visit. As for service, there is none! You order and take your lobster and eat on the deck.
Mario's Chiquita Plano, TX
This restaurant is a bit hard to find so call ahead to get directions.
Entrees ranged from $7 to $11. The atmosphere was nice and pleasant (we must have gone during a non-busy time). The service was good. Our drinks were constantly topped-off. Now, to the good stuff. I ordered the beef fajitas and they were nearly perfect! They were very juicy and very tasty and tender; I was very impressed! Portions were not huge but the chips before the meal helped fill me. I also tried a cheese enchilada. The corn shell was a bit tough but it was good. If you visit, be sure and get the beef fajitas!!!
Momo's Pasta Of Addison Dallas, TX
The atmosphere is nice and cozy. The food was good but I was expecting much better quality. Plates ranged from $12-$19 (for dinner). I was not impressed with the service. My wife and I waited quite a bit for someone to notice that we were done ... we were waiting for the desert menu! Another time, my drink remained very low for tooo long! Also, the owner does not seem to like "Passbook" card members :) he is "starting to phase out." I would not recommend this place.
Covino's Plano, TX
Reading the reviews, I had to go check out this place. Dinner prices ranged from about $7-$15. We had the Fettucine Alfredo and a Stromboli. The Stromboli seemed a bit cool in temperature. The outer texture was very good not too crunchy and not too chewy. The Alfredo was ok at best. Maybe we caught them on an off-night? Anyway, we did try the cheesecake and it was very good. A must! The service was ok.
Viewing some of the other platters around us, I do want to go back and try the pizza and the Chicken Parmigian. The place does get full pretty quick. Also, BYOB.
Jalapeno's Plano, TX
This is a great little restaurant that offers pretty good mexican food. Prices range from $4-$8. I am always amazed at how fast our food is made! My favorite dish is the cheese enchiladas. Never a huge crowd, but always good food! Located on the NW corner of Parker and Independence.
La Hacienda Ranch Frisco, TX
If you go here, be sure and save room for desert. La Hacienda has excellent tex-mex food. The beef fajitas are always sizzling, tender and tasty. Basically, every entree I have ever had has been very good. However, I must say, I look forward to their deserts! The pecan pie is a MUST. The margarita pie was also very tasty. The ranch atmosphere is a nice change of pace from the usual restaurant.
Prices range from $8-$20. Weekend nights always have a loooong wait. While they do not take reservations, you can call ahead and place your name on the waiting list.
Double Dave's Pizzaworks Dallas, TX
This is a popular pizza place among the people I work with. They have very tasty pizza rolls (that's their specialty). The pizza is also very good. The buffet, about $5, features pizzas that are continually rotating. So, during your visit, you will not likely see the same pizza twice out on the bar; I think this is a great idea! Everything I have tried has been superb. They are on the NW corner of the Tollway and Trinity Mills!
Leonardo's Frisco, TX
This is probably one of the best kept secrets in Frisco. I highly recommend the Chicken Alfredo. On every visit, the pre-dinner rolls have been excellent! And the food has been fantastic! The atmosphere is ok and it does get loud. The service has consistently been slow but it is worth the wait.
Akbar Plano, TX
Of all the Indian buffets I have been to, Akbar's is by far the best one. On numerous occassions, selections have been ample and the food is always hot and tasty! Their lunch time buffet is $6 and the dinner/Weekend buffet is $8. The service is sometimes a bit slow but the food is wonderful!!
St. Martins-Wine Bistro Restaurant Dallas, TX
The atmosphere and service were superb! The food portions were just the right amount :) The food was very good too! This is a place is very nice. The atmosphere is quiet, dimly lit .. . . Recommend!
Jasmine Unqly Restaurant Dallas, TX
The atmosphere is very nice. The food was average at best . . . nothing spectacular (we ordered their special Valentine's day special). I was really disappointed with the food because I had been hearing great things! The service was average.
Celebration Restaurant Dallas, TX
Good down-home cooking. This is a pleasant restaurant but a bit over-priced in my book. Their dishes range from 7-12 (at lunch time). The dishes in general are pretty good.
Mario & Alberto Dallas, TX
The food is pretty good. This is one of the more upscale Mexican restaurants in Dallas. In my opinion, this restaurant is very over-priced for the quality of food. However, this does offer a change-of-pace from the normal Mexican restaurant.
Mecca Restaurant Dallas, TX
Huge portions of greasy food . .. . it's great! Everytime I go, we tend to go for the breakfast menu. This is a good breakfast choice.
Romano's Macaroni Grill Dallas, TX
This is a wonderful restaurant. The average entree price is 5-10 during lunch and 10-15 at dinner time. The food has been excellent everytime I have been there. I'm partial to their seafood/pasta dishes. I highly recommend this place!
