China One-West Madison, WI
I agree with JH's comments for the price. I thought it was one of the better chinese buffets I had been to. A wide variety of choices: Mongolian BBQ, sushi, salad, traditional chinese, some American dishes, several deserts. And the wait staff is really good. During busy times, the food can get slim if they are short staffed. Always had a full drink though.
Cafe Tu Tu Tango Orlando, FL
If you like tapas, you need to try this place. It is one of the best ever. For those of you that don't know what tapas is, it is appetizer portions and you share with your group. You each order a few dishes, and then it is almost like a potluck. The food here was absolutely amazing. I like to try new foods, and this place had familiar favorites and new dishes I had never heard of as well. The staff was awesome and knowledgeable. The artists doing their work there were very friendly and fun too. The one thing I would warn is that each plate adds up, and it is very easy to drop $50-$70. If this place were in New York or LA, it would be an A list restaurant. Try this one out if you are in Orlando. I can't say enough about it!
House of Blues Orlando, FL
This is a fun place. But the major disappointment is that the food was overpriced and the portions were small. If you are a veteran of Disney, this is no shock. The food choice is a little lacking too. Having said that, when you do get their food it is good. Always tatsy. I agree that the food for being New Orleans style is bland, but they offer more sauces if you want to spice it up. The staff is ok. The wait can be long, but being that disney is right there, you can wander and shop while you wait.
Orlando Ale House Orlando, FL
This is the quintessential sports bar in Orlando. They have great drink specials and the selection for a bar menu will blow your mind. If you like buffalo anything, this place rocks for it. The nachos are HUGE! Most importantly, the food is great. If you leave hungry, it is because someone stole your food while you were using the facilities. If you like a bar atmosphere, go here once, and you'll be hooked! The staff: top notch.
Wolfgang Puck's Cafe Orlando, FL
I highly recommend this place. Wolfgang's has three restaurants in one place: a take out, sit outside place that offers pizzas, sandwiches, mac and cheese among other quick eats. This part is very good. A bit pricey, but good nonetheless. The sit outside part allows you to people watch. The second is the first floor of their dine in restaurant. The food in this is very good. This may be the best sushi I have ever had not made by someone directly from Japan. One of the fun places to sit if you can get it is to sit right at the counter of the kitchen. It is a few bar stools, and you get to talk to the chef's, who oftentimes will give you little appetizer bites of something you were thinking of ordering. This is top notch, and a great gesture when you'll end up dropping $50-$70 by the time you are done. But it is worth it. The food is unreal! Then, the upstairs is fine dining. I went there once and the only negative I could say was our waiter was really bad, but the food made up for it. You have a separate menu, but they will get you anything from downstairs you wish. Again, up here it is really pricey, where entrees are between $15-$35, but it is awesome. I would recommend it for any occasion, as you have three restaurants to try. The upsatirs is a great place to have a romantic dinner for two. They also have an outside patio that looks over one of the Disney lakes.
Chillers Orlando, FL
This is THE PLACE TO BE on Wednesdays. Whether you are aguy or a girl, the beautiful people end up here. Welcome to eye-candyland. Drink specials are $1 bottled beers and frozen concoctions made by the bar. Trust me, bring $20 and you'll leave happy and silly!
California Grill Orlando, FL
This is the best restaurant that I have ever been to, period! This place is a great place to go for a special occasion. And you need to prepare that way, because you will drop between $70 and $100 to do it up right. This is Disney's best restaurant, hands down. It is a seasonal restaurant, thus you could go there in consecutive years and never see the same menu. The ambience is great. The staff is the best trained in Orlando. They bend over backwards to make your evening perfect. Everything is top notch. The thing that impressed me most is that they had something for every appetite and diet, and they all sounded delicious. I am a meat eater, and even the vegetarian dish my girlfriend had was mouth watering. I have had the opportunity to eat there four times and still cannot say enough good things about the place. Reservations are needed. Go, and have a night to remember.
Ginza of Tokyo Madison, WI
This is a fun restaurant to go to in wisconsin. For those of you who have been outside of this lovley state, you will know that this isn't the best cuisine though it is good. Their sushi is much better than the entrees. Their sushi I would rate at 4. Th really awesome thing here is the private rooms. Want to have a nice romantic dinner? That is the way to go.
Sir Hobo's Sun Prairie, WI
This is one I went to have an early morning brunch. I have to say they rock for the simple fact that their selection is enormous! I know chain restaurants that don't have this type of selection. The food was as good as the selection. Service was great as well. The only knock against it was the fact that seating is a little too close. Other than that, it was a lot of fun to be there. Felt like mom's place!
Pietro's Pizza Place Sun Prairie, WI
This pizza place is the first one I went to in Sun Prairie. It was not a disappointment. We walked in and placed our order, and came back 15 minutes later like they said and it was ready. They cut their pizzas in squares, which is something I had never had. So the novelty of it was awesome. Then biting into it wasn't a let down either. The food was delicious. They were generous when giving out the toppings. I will go back again.
Mc Govern's Supper Club Sun Prairie, WI
This is a combination supper club, motel, and bar. It was a good experience. The food was very good, and the selection was impressive considering how small their kitchen was. The staff was very polite and most importantly prompt. Food was good. Nice place to have a few drinks and some dinner.
Pizza Extreme Madison, WI
This is a good pizza place. Their pizza is very good. However, the one time I went I got three meatballs in their sub, and about two pounds of cheese. While I loved the fact that the sub had tons of cheese, I wasn't happy that they shorted me on the meatballs. I will go again to see if this happens again. But I would recommend the pizza. Takeout or delivery.
Nitty Gritty Restaurant & Bar Madison, WI
This is the place to be for your birthday! Free beer or soda on that day. The food wasn't bad, but the burgers that were to die for as was hyped to me didn't live up to their reputation. Nonetheless, the food was good. The pictures on the wall were very entertaining. This is definitely a place where noise is the key theme. If you want a quiet place, go somewhere else. If you want to have fun and be silly, go here! One knock is that trying to find parking was a chore.
Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que Madison, WI
Only went there for lunch. This was really good. I had been hoping to find a nice BBQ place since I've moved up here, and I found it. This was the second best BBQ place I have ever been to in my life. The chicken was awesome, and the person I went with had a great salad. It was nice because most people think of a BBQ place as only ribs and chicken. It is good to let the people on their diets be able to come in and eat with people who aren't. The service was slow, but the food was good. Try going early at lunch.
Ruby Chinese & American Rstrnt Madison, WI
This place is literally right next door to where I work, so I ventured there one day. Not bad. The food was a little bland for my liking. The sauces are really good. My major negative to it was mself and another couple that were there and it took forever to get served. Service has a lot to be desired. Reasonably priced.
Pedro's Mexican Restaurante Madison, WI
Here is my take on this place. I took two friends from out of town to eat here. When we arrived during happy hour, we had the weakest marguritas I have ever had, to the point that I thought that the bartender forgot to put in alcohol. The waitress actually argued with me instead of offering me a new drink. Not exactly good customer service. On top of that, the food was not that good. Way too soggy, and small portions. I am sure there is a better place to get Mexican than this. Sorry guys.
Porta Bella Madison, WI
This is my favorite place to go in Madison. This place is really nice to go and have a romantic dinner. If you are a wine fan, you need to go here. They have a wine cellar as well. The staff was very good, from the hostess who smiled at us when we walked in to the waiter who gave us plenty of time when we were talking and not looking at the menu. All we had was a bottle of wine and some appetizers, but it was awesome. I will surprise my sweetheart and take her there again as we were both extremely impressed. Hats off to the restaurant!
Big Mike's Super Subs Madison, WI
While I think they are overpriced and do not offer anywhere near the toppings that the chain sub place does, their subs are very good. Their meat is much better than the chain, which may account for the difference in price. Worth a try so you can make your own opinion. Delivery or take out.
Dry Bean Madison, WI
This place is more of a bar than a restaurant at night, so be sure if you have little ones you go before 6:30 or 7. Decent food and a heck of an atmosphere if you stay around to drink the night away with friends. Staff is on top of their game as well. If you like karaoke, they are known for it. Crowd is into it usually too.
Happy Wok Madison, WI
This is a great place for lunch. Daily specials, and the food is hot and great. All types of eaters can go here too. Dine in or take out.
