I have had dinner multiple times at the American Cafe (one of the 4 corners of Plaza Real at Mizner Park). It was not the same quality every time. Once, the food (a Salmon Steak on a Salad) was delicious, the atmosphere was great, 4 Stars experience. Another time, it was bad... Long wait to be served (not that many people to justify), the food was mediocre. They did not have the desert I wanted (Peanut Butter Ice cream). Most of the other times, it was good (i.e. just good). On the other side, I believe that the American Cafe is the least expensive of the 4 or 5 restaurants of the Plaza. So, good luck.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of different types of food (burgers, pizzas, fish, salads), and the food is great: the pizzas taste better than in specialized pizzerias, and the Seared Tuna Teryaki Sandwich is wonderful (my favorite). Big portions, fun atmosphere. Maybe a little disorganized when handling a large queue of customers, but, be patient, you'll have a good meal in a nice atmosphere.

This one is the one at the Fountains. I had dinners there and the average price was around $18. It was delicious. I had different meals in different occasions. The meals (mostly fresh fish) were always tasty, very well prepared, very fresh, delicious is the word that comes back to my mind. Great selection of deserts. A little expensive but worth it if you want a great meal.

Very good mexican restaurant. The big plus compared to others is the large selection in the menu... I like the possibility of having fish or veggie (burritos, fagitas, wraps, etc.) in addition to the classic beef or chicken choices. It's a big place. They are well organized. We haven't had to wait too long, even on Sunday nights in the high season. Good deserts (always important for my son). You'll like it.

Had multiple business lunches there. Very good food. Good selection. Large place with very nice people that can accomodate your needs (we needed to seat quietly with laptops to take notes... They found a place for us and allowed us the time we needed even at Crunchtime for lunch). Not expensive... Very good food.

Good Indian Restaurant, but a little bit expensive for the quality. I personally prefer "India House", a few miles from "House of India" (west of it on Oakland Park Blvd), which is less expensive and tastier.

Great restaurant at the crossroad of US1 and Sunrise. One of the best Thai in the city. Beautiful place, nice service. The price of the entrees is a bargain for the quality of the experience. The food is delicious. Definitely recommend it.

I went there for Dinner with my wife. She had a salad and a pizza. The salad was like half of a cabbage cleansed but with no other preparation... Try to picture half of a cabbage in a very expensive plate :) The pizza was mediocre. I had some tuna raw with some kind of dried pasta on top of it. It looked like a designer piece of art but tasted awful. Well, in my opinion (which is obviously personal), it is a NO NO.

Sunday night, family dinner with my wife and kid, sitting outside watching the intracostal, with a nice breeze, good food and good company. Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at its best. The food is good. The service is good. But, the location, setting and overall experience is why I go back.

I know the Downtowner because I worked downtown Fort Lauderdale for more than 3 years and I would have lunch there at least once a week. The food is average. The service is very good. Which ends up in an overall rating of 3 stars. It's a nice casual place to take a break and have a quick business lunch.
