| Pizzeria Uno Chicago Bar | Altamonte Springs, FL | |
|
A great alternative to "regular" pizza with a full
menu (and bar) to boot! EXCELLENT crab dip appetizer too! Great
lunch specials (pizza and salad) and good service are additional
reasons to visit.

| Boston Gourmet Coffeehouse | Deland, FL | |
|
The bread bowl soup alone is worth the drive to DeLand. Fantastic,
friendly service and very reasonable prices are evidence enough
as to why this place is extremely popular with the locals!

| Park Avenue BBQ & Grille | Stuart, FL | |
|
Service can be slow (especially when they are slammed -which
is quite often), but worth the wait. Great Barbeque and great
prices. The catfish is personal favorite!

| Sonny's Real Pit Bar-B-Q | Stuart, FL | |
|
The best barbeque sauce around and very reasonable pricing (try
any of the all-you-can-eat specials) are why Sonny's does
so well. Hearty portions and friendly service round out this
pleasant dining experience.

| St Lucie Draft House | Port Saint Lucie, FL | |

Great atmosphere, surprisingly well stocked menu (AND Cherry
Wheat beer on tap!), this is a sports bar done right! A great place
to unwind after work or to start the weekend. Can get VERY crowded
and loud (causing a wait for a table).

| Pebbles Restaurant | Orlando, FL | |
|
They say change is good. . .in this case that is not so. . .menu changes
and theme changes have turned this once upscale/casual dining
gem into tourist oriented crap. . .too bad, it was one of the better
eateries in this class. . .

| Planet Hollywood | Florida | |
|
Typical Planet Hollywood fare and decor (with a touch of Disney
thrown in). Expect steep prices and bit of a wait. We like to go
for an appetizer before heading into pleasure island. . .

| Olive Garden | Orlando, FL | |
|
For American food under an Italian banner, this is quite tasty.
A bottomless bowl of crisp salad and breadsticks make for a very
filling meal at a reasonable price. Priced well below "upscale"
restaurants, the service still feels like royalty!
|
||
| Chili's Grill | Orlando, FL | |
|
Now, here's a great "standby" when you cannot
decide where to eat in Orlando. The service is usually quite good
and this is one of the few places I actually like the burgers. Add
to that a bottomless bowl of chips-n-salsa and two for one drinks
and you have fun experience!

| Pebbles Restaurant | Winter Park, FL | |
|
The feel of an upscale dining experience at a fraction of the price.
Great tasting food, expedient service and a good price. Great
date restuarant!

||
| Jelleyrolls At Disney Broadwalk | Orlando, FL | |
|
A nice hidden gem (as is all boardwalk), the dueling pianos make
this a very fun and upbeat place to enjoy a nice cigar! Great starting
point for an evening out ala Disney.

||
| Big Kahuna Pizza At Citywalk | Orlando, FL | |
|
Another "nice try" by Universal in the food arena.
Cardboard topped by bland sauce and plastic cheese is bad enough,
but the spot is closed late nite for those seeking anything to
soak up the alcohol before heading home (the only time this "food"
might be palatible).
|
||
| Cityjazz At Citywalk | Orlando, FL | |
|
My second attempt here was a bit better. While the food had drastically
improved, the service was extremely slow. Entertainment is
hit or miss (as is Citywalk in general). . .

||
| Hero Express At Pleasure Island | Orlando, FL | |
|
This is the spot I like to grab a quick bite at before heading in
to the Adventurers Club. A generous portion at a reasonable (for
Disney) price and very little wait, make this my best recommendation
if you are not wanting to go to an actual restuarant.
|
||
| Cafe At Virgin Records Westside | Orlando, FL | |
|
A bit over priced, but tucked away inside (upstairs) at Virgin
Mega Store, making it a nice hidden get away while at Downtown
Disney. Think coffeehouse and you have the general feel. . .
|
||
| Motions At Pleasure Island | Orlando, FL | |
|
This must be a tough location for Pleasure Island. The adaptation
from its second Country/Western bar to pop nightclub is poor.
Whenever I wander in here, I have the feel of crashing someone
else's homecoming dance (complete with lots of people on
the sidelines off the dance floor). Try 8 trax or Manequins instead
|
||
| Rock and Roll Beach Club At Pleasure Island | Orlando, FL | |
|
A nice adaptation of what was originally opend by Disney as a skating
rink. While the club has good bands and has captured the feel of
a Rock and Roll music hall, the music itself is censored and bubble
gum. Try HOB when a "real" uncensored live band is
playing instead.

||
| Motions At Pleasure Island | Orlando, FL | |
|
Disney has done better and should be ashamed. The music is so-so
and the club has the feel of a high school dance. There are much
better places to "play" at PI then here.
