Not a bad place if you happen to be in the neighborhood. The general
tso's chicken is very good. Of course there is always the chicken
box, salt/pepper/ketchup optional.

| Hung Garden | Harvey, IL | |

I've been going there for years. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere.
Good location.

| Sbarro | Calumet City, IL | |
|
It's best italian food. I've ever had. I really go for their Calzones
and the spaghetti and sausage. It's kind of pricy for a fast food
restaurant. You get more for your money. All the major malls have
them.

| The Back Nine Restaurant | Glenville, WV | |
|
The menu is extent enough to satisfy anyone. The food is of excellent
quality and the kitchen is immaculate. The service is rather
slow, so if your in a hurry, don't stop in. The average meal will
run about $10. Overall, I give the Back Nine Restaurant 3 stars.

| Brige Street Cafe | Richmond, VT | |

Great Breakfeast diner in a nice Vermont rural friedly town just
off interstate 89.

| Taqueria Sebastopol | Sebastopol, CA | |
|
Many items in this price range and a few really good ones are a bit
higher. They server pre-meal chips and salsa with some refried
beans as an alternate dip. Highly recommended. Also, a complementary
dessert of a cinnamon-sugar coated, deep-fried flour tortilla
wedge with whipped cream and strawberry is included. Tasty!

| Osake Japanese Restaurant | Santa Rosa, CA | |
|
The quality of the food is usually quite good though most of the
items one would expect to be very warm are often tepid. The sushi
is good. Tempura better. Owned by Gary Chu (like his Chinese restaurant
in downtown SR), the ambience is very nice and contributes to
a good dining experience.

| Back Street Grill | Dayton, OH | |

A diamond in the ruff, North Dayton's Best kept secret.
Friendly staff, very nice and clean decor, has variety of steaks,
seafood, pastas and sandwiches. Also has great deals on drinks
and dinner.

| Cheeburgercheeburger | Auburn, AL | |
|
The burgers are pretty good, but this restaurent is known for
their "pounder". If you can eat their full pound hamburger, you
get your picture taken and they hang it on the walls. Oh, also,
they say in the menu...they do NOT make hamburgers, they make
cheeseburgers...but hey have been known to leave the cheese
off if you request it ;-)
When you order a burger, you get...a burger, nothing more. Its
usually all you need, but if you want fries or onion rings, they
are separate...and all you need is a 1/2 loaf of the onion rings...its
HUGE. I never eat everything there.

| Stillwells At Northwoods Resort | Big Bear Lake, CA | |
|
Stillwells' has a beautiful rustic atmosphere and serves a nice
general menu of wild game, veal, pork chicken and seafood. Wine
and full bar available. Foods cooked traditionally as well as
with a creative twist. For non-meat eaters, try the "Windy Point",
a fresh spinach fettuccini w/gorgonzola cream sauce topped
w/freshly grated parmesan cheese a just a hint of grated nutmeg.
Another non-meat entree is the "Rim of the World", a four cheese
ravioli w/wild mushrooms, mixed in a light cream sauce & served
with homemade focaccia bread. For meat eaters, try their prime
rib, available in 8, 12 or 16 oz cuts.

| The Wild Rabbit | Redlands, CA | |
|
The beautiful restaurant is decorated English Countryside
and there is always soft music playing. This place is so popular
you need to make a reservation. My husband loves the Haunch of
Fresh Rabbit (he's a country boy) which is marinated in a thyme
sauce, flame broiled & topped w/sauteed mushrroms, onions &
bell peppers. I prefer the Garlic Chicken Wellington, which
is garlic chicken mixed with spices that taste delicious but
I haven't figured out what they are yet(!), mushrooms and onions
and then placed in a puff pastry and baked golden brown and topped
with a light ginger sauce. The fine wine list compliments any
entree. Fresh seafood, steaks, pasta and vegetarian entrees
are also served.

| Le Basil | Redlands, CA | |
|
You definately get more bang with your buck here! Only a few entrees
are over $10 and those are over $1-$3 at most. Beautiful gardenlike
decor and excellant service. Wine and beer available. My favorite
is the Clay Pot Fish, a braised cat fish (in a clay pot of course!)
with scallion in caramel sauce and sprinkled with black pepper.
They also serve prawns the same way. Everyhting from their Beef
Fondue to Chicken in Five Spices to Sweet & Sour Duck is delicious.
For hard core beef eaters, try the Bo Luc Lac, a cube flank steak
stir-fried with garlic and onions in a butter maggi sauce OR the
Le Basil Steak, a marinated stir-fried dish of steak slices placed
over a bedded salad and topped with egg, grilled red onion rings
and a delicious pungant sauce.

| The Wilderness Grill | Ontario, CA | |
|
Lunch is $5-$10. I am not one for themed chain restaraunts, but
after attending a chamber mixer hear I keep coming back and bring
family and friends visitng from out as town. A great place to eat
before or after a movie or bringing little ones with you. (The
staff doesn't mind the noise or mess!)
First the decor. You actually feel as if you are in a forest, dining
beneath a canopy of Redwoods, complete with the sounds of crickets
chirping. They serve hearty fair such as bar-b-que ribs and Angus
beef, as well as wood-fired pizzas from their very own white oak
oven and lots of other goodies. My favorite lunch entree is the
Dirty Apple Burger, served with cheddar cheese, dirt apple jam,
bacon, lettuce, tomato & a delicious homemade honey Dijon sauce.
They fries that come with the burgers are pretty good too. For
dinner I usually order the Smoked Artichoke Chicken, which is
half a chicken smoked slow in achiote citrus marinade & served
with the restaurant's signiture Diamond Back bar-b-que sauce,
on the side if you wish. My Dad swears by their Mount Whitney Meatloaf
which is a combination of ground veal, lean beef & pork, blended
with eggplant, sweet onions & wild mushrooms and topped with
mushroom sauce. Full bar and decent wine/beer list.

| Moana Bakery & Cafe | Paia, HI | |

Small and casual with good location and free parking.
Great salads and baked goods. Good selection of
entrees. Lunch and dinner. Friendly staff.
|
||
| Maui Bake Shop and Deli | Wailuku, HI | |
|
Besides having GREAT baked goods (try the cream puffs,
eclairs, mini lemon meringue pies) they have great
sandwiches for lunch. Try the french loaf stuffed
with chicken, mushroom, and pesta! Your greatest
problem will be deciding what to order!
|
||
| Komoda Store and Bakery | Makawao, HI | |
|
How can you go to Makawao and not stop at Komoda's?
Try the cream puffs, or the cinnamon raisin bread,
or the long johns...and don't leave without a bag
of butter rolls. Who could believe butter rolls
taste this good...it's hard to get home with an
unopened bag!
|
||
| La Pinatas of Maui | Kahului, HI | |
|
Who could believe Hawaii has Mexican food so good?
Fresh food, HUGE servings, casual atmosphere,
good prices. Always crowded at lunch time, and
sometimes at happy hour.
|
||
| Round Table Pizza | Honolulu, HI | |
|
Yes, there is good pizza in Honolulu...but who
would believe at the Hilton Hawaiian Village!
Tell them you are Kamaaina, and you get a discount.
This place is crowded, but the parking is validated.
