| Shorty Small's Great American | Edmond, OK | |
|
It rates up there with just about every other yuppie restaurant
in the metro. The service can go either way. The food is rather
expensive but there is a large variety. They have one of the most
annoying advertisements I have ever heard on the radio. Guess
it works though cause this place is usually busy at the prime times
of the day.

| Tommy's Italian-American Grill | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
This is on the top of my list for large get togethers. The staff
is friendly and the food great. They have a fantastic selection
of wine and a full service bar. I would highly recommend this restaurant
to anyone.

| Flip's Wine Bar & Trattoria | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
This is one of the few places in the metro area that I refuse to go.
It is like walking into a after hours fashion show. If you don't
have your Hilfiger gear on from head to toe, you most likely won't
get the best of service. They claim to be a restaurant, however
it is more like a very loud bar. You can though find every ringing
sound a cell phone has to offer in this establishment.

||
| Jimmy's Deli | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
There sandwich bread is wonderful. They have a large variety
of different items and the service is great. I recommend you go
early for lunch, there is usually a long waiting line.

||
| City Bites Subs | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
Interesting atmosphere. The food is good but the service is sometimes
really slow. If you are in a hurry at lunch go early. The baked goods
and fresh salads are wonderful.

| Taco Mayo | Norman, OK | |
|
How this franchise survives I haven't a clue. It has to be the cheap
price it costs. The meat on the taco's is so little that it makes
you wonder why they even bother.
The only reason I can see going here is if you have not eaten in a month and you only have a couple of bucks in your pocket. |
||
| Rex Chicken | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
This use to be a great place for chicken. Then all of a sudden they
started closing store after store. I always liked the jalepeno
myself.
Wish they had more stores in the metro. |
||
| Classic 50'S Drive-In | Norman, OK | |
|
Now this is what a drive in is suppose to be like. Car hops on rollerskates
and the freedom to get out of your car and chat with your friends.
What makes your visit even more pleasant is the great food and
the enourmous selection.

| J-Pats Restaurant | Norman, OK | |
|
I have many fond memories of this place. I worked there as teenager
when it was a mere two booth hamburger building that sat next to
O'Connels Irish Pub. The original owner was a true Gem.
The food has always been great and the service excellent. It is
too bad that J. Patton the owner sold to another party since then,
service and food have never been the same.

||
| Brothers Eatery & Pub | Norman, OK | |
|
This local college hang out is a great place to go if you are of college
age. The atmosphere is rather loud and the students obnoxious,
but if you are looking for fun time during a football game this
is one place to be.

||
| Sooner Dairy Lunch | Norman, OK | |
|
The drive in with a twist. You have to get out of your car and order
and then go back and get your food when they call your number. Even
with todays rushed lifestyle this little place still pushes
forward. I usually get the BBQ sandwich when eating here. For
those who don't want to get out of their car they do offer a drive
up window. It is however not fast serivce. They make each order
fresh so call ahead if you are in a hurry.

| Ted's Cafe Escondido | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
If authentic Tex Mex food is what you are looking for then look
no further. Ted's is the place for you. This little place which
name means Ted's Hidden Cafe fits to a tee. It is located off the
main road so you have to look for it. It is not hard to find though,
because there is always a line of people waiting to get in. The
food and service are excellent. The waitstaff is always ready
to serve with a smile on their faces. You will love the freshly
made flour tortillas and the atomic hot sauce is just the ticket
if you are one who enjoys alot of spicy flavors.
|
||
| Jamil's Steakhouse | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
This restaurant does not have a very good reputation for it's
service or its food. They seemed to always be understaffed and
because of the location you have to pay for all alcoholic drinks
when they are served each time.
|
||
| Oklahoma Station Bar BQ | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
If you don't mind cafeteria style ordering then this is a good
place to go. The BBQ sauce is really good. I recommend the brisket,
it is always tender. The side orders are plentiful and the variety
good. The staff is always eager and willing to help you with anything.
The have accomodations for large parties and they also cater.
Good overall BBQ house.

||
| Classen Grill | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
This is a nastalgic place that was a major hot spot in the 50's and
60's. It is known for it's great breakfasts. The staff is wonderful
and the serive great. Stop by and take a blast to the past in one
of OKC's oldest cafes.
|
||
| Coleman's Drive In | Okmulgee, OK | |
|
A long time family owned and operated business. Colemans use
to be the place to stop while taking a trip from OKC to Tulsa. The
generation that is running it now seems to have forgotten one
thing. Cleaning is not on the top of their priority list. I would
only recommend stopping here if you want to see a piece of dirty
oklahoma history.
|
||
| Ken's Restaurant | Amber, OK | |
|
Another nostalgic place in a rural Oklahoma town. They tout themselves
for having the best steaks around. Having visted this place on
several occassions I would have to say they are not quite correct
on their statement. The service is good and the food is adequate.
Not worth the drive though and the locals seems to always have
a funny look on their faces when a stranger walks in.
|
||
| Mc Gehee Catfish Restaurant | Marietta, OK | |
|
If you are a big catfish lover and you like driving a long ways for
it then this is not a bad place to visit. It is famous for having
it's own landing strip and the owners claim there people from
all over this region fly in to dine. As with alot of places this
restaurant seems to have faded as time has gone by. I recommend
going only if you are into out the way places.
|
||
| Meers Store | Lawton, OK | |
|
Renowned as being the only ghost town in Oklahoma with living
residents. This place is truly a treasure to vist. Settled in
the Mt Scott area near Lawton, you will find yourself taking a
trip back to the old days. Rustic decorations and food that is
wonderful.
|
||
| Stoolies | Gainesville, TX | |
|
What a place to visit. This all around restaurant offers a wonderful
selection of food and they have the best chicken fried steak I
have ever eaten. The atmosphere is great. They have the restaurant
separated with the bar which serves up some of the most intersting
drinks I have ever seen. The service is excellent and the food
wonderful. If you are travelling up or down I-35 between Oklahoma
and Texas. I highly recommend to take the short drive into Gainsville
and eat here.
