Giordano's Pizzeria Restaurants Chicago, IL
It's a tourist trap now. They make decent Chicago-style pizza, but other places do it better. And the wait for a table is insanely long.
Geja's Chicago, IL
Excellent, romantic place for some fondue. It's best to go here just for the chocolate fondue.
The Cheesecake Factory Chicago, IL
Don't go here. It's just a lame chain restaurant with oversized portions for oversized customers. The cheesecake is passable. The food is passable and overpriced. There are so many good restaurants in Chicago that you would be wasting your time and money going here.
Gino's East Chicago, IL
Decent chicago-style pizza, but mostly a tourist place. Beware: the sausage topping is a dense wheel of sausage that overwhelms the pizza. Rather than sprinkle a few small chunks of sausage around like a normal pizza place, they give you a giant slab of sausage.
Parthenon Chicago, IL
Decent place in Greek town. Nothing exceptional, but everything is ok. All the standard Greek-American stuff is there.
Wishbone Chicago, IL
They claim to be Cajun, but it's really a watered down version of Cajun food. The brunch on Sunday is pretty good, though.
Cafe Ba-ba-reeba! Chicago, IL
The tapas here is fairly good (for Chicago). I haven't tried the main courses because you can eat quite well on just the tapas. It's kinda loud, though. It's hard to have a conversation, but there are lots of people to look at.
Reza's Restaurant Chicago, IL
Fairly good food and not too expensive. All the standard Greek-American dishes. Can't go wrong here.
Cousin's Turkish dining with a vegeterian fla ... Chicago, IL
The food used to be very good, but then there was a change in management. Now the food is mediocre. It tastes like they just microwaved some food and plopped on your plate.
Charlie Trotter's Chicago, IL
I've been here many times and have consistently had an excellent experience. Both the regular and vegetarian degustations are excellent. The food tends to be simplified French cuisine with an occasional Asian flair.
Deleece's Chicago, IL
A fairly good neighborhood restaurant. Cozy, decent food, nothing extravagent. I've had the pasta there for years and it's quite good. Had an immense roasted chicken dish once, which was fairly good. Overall, not bad if you're in the area, but not a "destination" place.
Frontera Grill Topolobampo Chicago, IL
Two restaurants. Topolobambo is the nice restaurant, Frontera Grill is the casual cafe. Both are very good, though the menu doesn't appear to change too often. This is real Mexican food, not the tex-mex most are familiar with. It's definitely worth the insane wait for a table.
Maggianos Little Italy Chicago, IL
They give you IMMENSE servings of standard Italian-American food. The food is average, though some of the pasta dishes are less than average. There's something rather bland about the flavors. There are many other Italian restaurants worth visiting. I would not go back here again.
Arun's Chicago, IL
This is not your average Thai joint. This is high-end Royal Thai cuisine (I think that's what they call it). The regular menu is excellent, but don't order the vegetarian version - it sucks. Some of the dishes seem familiar, but are done in extraordinary ways. At my visit, desert was boring.
Morton's Steakhouse Chicago, IL
Steak and potatoes, Chicago-style. The portions are huge, the vegetables are boiled, the potatoes come in a few styles. Basically, if you like big chunks of meat in a Godfather-like environment, this is it.
Everest Chicago, IL
Excellent French cuisine. Very high-end, suit & tie place. The food is great. They serve degustations (multiple-course menus). Definitely get the extra cheese course. I still dream about the corn soup I got there years ago. Also, the service here is the best in the city, IMHO.
