| Mahoney's | Big Lake, AK | |
|
I had breakfast there yesterday and it was very enjoyable, the
seating was nice, the service excllent and the food was served
quickly and about the only thing I could recommend is that the
chef work on the presentation of the food on the plate.
I will eat there again often.

| Chepo's | Wasilla, AK | |
|
4 of us went there for dinner, 3 of us had encheladas and were rewarded
with Montezumas revenge shortly afterwards. I did not have the
Enchelada plate and was spared the after effects. The dish I did
have was less than memorable, my dinner companions rather wished
the memory of their dishes hadn't stayed with them for as
long as they did.

| Evangelo's Trattoria | Wasilla, AK | |
|
Evanvelo's has a great new location, very upscale and elegant.
They are right on the parks Hwy just before Old Matanuska Road.
Between the Alaskan View Motel and the MatSu Theater.

The best in fine italian dining you will find in the Valley.

| Wasilla Bar | Wasilla, AK | |
|
This is a great place to eat if you don't really care about
food and just want to watch people in a crowded bar setting. It's
all about the dollar here, so bring lots.

| Best Western Lake Lucille Inn | Wasilla, AK | |
|
Not the best place, but classier than most in town. Food is nothing
to write home about, but the view over the lake might be. Catered
events, I was a guest at a graduation there and the food was acceptable,
the setting very nice and the service was excellent.

| Cadillac Cafe | Wasilla, AK | |
|
This place deserves a better location for the excellent food
they serve. They are in a small area between a video/liquor store,
gas station but they have good food and acceptable atmosphere.
Check out the classic pizza oven!

| Mile 49 Cafe | Wasilla, AK | |
|
This is the place to go in the area if your looking for some "Alaskan"
atmosphere. Lots of wood carvings, pictures, animal mounts
and cool paintings and murals.
The food is good and the portions are large. The staff was overworked
last time I was there, but still managed to smile and everything
was cooked and served in a style deserving a good tip.

| Windbreak Hotel & Cafe' | Wasilla, AK | |
|
One of the better eateries in the Wasilla area, clean but a little
crowded at times. I have been there about a dozen times and never
had a problem getting just what I wanted in a timely manner.

| Sully's Sourdough | Wasilla, AK | |
|
Sully goes through more cooks than almost anyone around, but
the food is good and the service is acceptable. Not the place to
take a date to impress her, but a good place to tie on the feed bag
during a night of serious drinking.

| Nobodys Inn | Wasilla, AK | |
|
I sat in there just over 35 minutes one day before I finally went
and found a waitress myself. Food was marginal and the service
was almost the worst I have ever had in the area. It's a place
for cabbies to hang out and sip coffee.
