| Hardees | Greenwood, SC | |
|
Hardee's is basic fast food, best known for breakfast biscuits.
I have to say that since they changed the menu and went to a different
type of burger, it's been a tremendous improvement. With
the menu change, the service has certainly slowed down for lunch
and dinner, but the improvement in the quality of burgers tends
to make up for it. It's worth stopping in for a quick and reasonably
priced lunch.

| California Dreaming Restaurant | Columbia, SC | |
|
California Dreaming has a slightly unusual take on the chain
restaurant. The menu is a lot more varied and interesting than
you'd find at standbys such as Applebees or Ruby Tuesdays.
I love the building. The service is good, the staff is friendly,
and the atmosphere is very nice. This is a good bet for a leisurely
dinner or a date. Overall, this restaurant is good and worth stopping
by for a meal. It can be crowded, so plan ahead.

| Lizard's Thicket | Columbia, SC | |
|
A fairly typical southern "meat 'n three" done
chain style. The food was bland, though there did seem to be a lot
of it. It was cheap and filling. Nothing spectacular about it,
though. It's not bad if you want a large, cheap, filling lunch
in a hurry. It's not exactly to my tastes, but a lot of people
do like that type of thing. It would certainly be an excellent
choice for those with restricted sodium intake or those on a limited
budget.

| Ihop (international House of Pancakes) | Columbia, SC | |
|
THE consumate chain restaurant for breakfast! Definitely leaps
and bounds above the typical waffle house fare. Having said that,
don't expect miracles. The food is reasonably priced and
good, but it's not spectacular by a long shot. It's really
hard to mess up breakfast food, so it's always a good choice
when you have a late-night craving for pancakes. The service
at this location has always been good and the staff very friendly.
Not a bad choice at all.

| Mcdonalds | Columbia, SC | |
|
Typical fast food. This location tends to be really crowded during
peak hours. Rediculously so, in fact. The staff was rude and unfriendly.
It might be different with the drive-thru service. I'm not
sure I really want to know though.

| Italian Market Grill | Greenville, SC | |
|
Great pasta! The service, atmosphere, and food is very good.
It's in a very convenient location for a nice dinner after
a long day of shopping or a relaxed client meeting. Definitely
worth the experience.

| Alykat | Hendersonville, NC | |
|
Good service, friendly staff, and a fairly big variety of foods
make this a great place to stop in for a bite to eat. It's inexpensive
and great value for what you get. Definitely worth a visit.

| Applebee's Neighborhood Bar & Grill | Hendersonville, NC | |
|
What can you say about a large chain restaurant that hasn't
already been said? If you've been to one, you've been
to them all... You always know what's on the menu and you always
know what it's going to taste like, so there are no surprises.
If you're into that kind of thing, this is a good bet for you.
On the upside, the service at this location is pretty good and
the staff is friendly.

| Bellacino's Pizza & Grinders | Hendersonville, NC | |
|
The food is really good here. So, why the low rating? The service
is horrible. I chalk it up to very bad management and no commitment
to customer service. They were rude and very unhelpful when I
went. Needless to say, I haven't been back and I plan to avoid
it in the future.

| Red Top Hamburgers | Colorado Springs, CO | |
|
Some of my favorite childhood memories are of trips to this place.
I'm happy to say that it has not changed. I'm still just
as much in awe at the size of those burgers as I was when I was a child.
Not only it is a novelty, the food is really good. Go hungry and
be prepared to be amazed at the giant burgers!!

| Conway's Red Top | Colorado Springs, CO | |
|
I'm still in awe at the size of those burgers!! So, they're
a little greasy... Still... The burgers are HUGE and the novelty
value alone is worth the trip. They have really good fries and
shakes as well. I remember them from my childhood and they haven't
changed over the years, thankfully.

| Stratton's | Ashland City, TN | |
|
This place is definitely straight out of the 50's with the
decor, jukebox, and waitress uniforms. The food is very reasonably
priced and filling. It's worth the trip just for the experience
alone.

||
| Little China | Fountain Inn, SC | |
|
This place offers the typical fare one would expect for a chinese
restaurant. The food is reasonably priced and fairly standard.
Nothing particularly leaps out as spectacular. If you've
got a craving for chinese and live in the area, it's a good
choice.

||
| Carolina Fine Foods | Simpsonville, SC | |
|
The food is always hot and filling and the service friendly. It's
not the most spectacular hamburger place out there, but it's
still a good choice. They have really good iced tea.
|
||
| Apple Annies Cafe | Hendersonville, NC | |
|
This place is a good bet for reasonably priced, hot food when you're
making the trip to the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area. Be prepared
for crowds during the tourist season, though. Especially the
really warm days. The service can be a little slow when it's
crowded. It's worth the visit to drop in.

| Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar | Augusta, GA | |
|
What can one really say that hasn't been said about a chain
restaurant of Applebee's caliber? Pick one anyplace in
the country and you've fairly well tasted the food at them
all. It's consistent if nothing else. The food is always
bland and the service less than stellar, but you always know what's
on the menu. If that floats your boat, then this isn't a bad
choice for you.
|
||
| Tgif | Augusta, GA | |
|
I'll give them credit for consistency. They're all
so alike, no matter where they pop up. The food is edible, though
not spectacular and the service isn't stellar. Their one
strength seems to be that the menu stays the same from restaurant
to restaurant. It's not a bad choice for those that enjoy
that type of restaurant and it's always a safe choice for
out of towners. You always know what to expect.

||
| LaMaison | Augusta, GA | |
|
This place has a pretty package and a fairly extensive wine list,
but those do not make a five star restaurant (or even a wannabee
five star restaurant) worthy of those stars. The staff is downright
rude, which I would expect in Europe and even in some of the largest
cities, but I can't tolerate it when the food doesn't
live up to the pretentions they're aspiring to. There are
much better restaurants, though not as elegant, in the area.
Trust me, the only ones you'll impress with a dinner at this
place are those that are just as pretentious as the owners of this
place.

||
| Outback Steakhouse | Augusta, GA | |
|
The portions are big and the food is always hot, but be prepared
for a long wait for a table. I can't say this one is much different
from any of the others in the chain. It's consistent if nothing
else, though I do tend to think this one is a bit more lax than others
I've been in.
|
||
| Zaxbys | Augusta, GA | |
|
This chain restaurant is pretty consistent with it's food
and service, no matter the location. The food is a bit better than
average and certainly a step up from the KFC type restaurants.
You always know what you're getting and it generally always
meets your expectations. It's a good bet for a reasonably
priced meal.
