| Alphonso's | Kingman, AZ | |
|
When I first tasted Alphonso's food I thought I'd finally
found a good authentic Mexican food stand. -But, even then I couldn't
understand why they charged me when I asked for Pico de Gallo(?) Then
one day I went inside for lunch. Flies were flying about from one end
of the place to the other. (I wished I had noticed before I gave my friend
my order to put in.) The flies were everywhere. Crawling all over the
salsa and pickled carrots and jalepenos... When I went up to the cash
register to help my friend carry things, I noticed a sub-standard Health
Department certificate which they had framed and proudly diaplayed
behind the cash register! (Guess it pays to know the language of the
country where you live and profit from it's people.) If I hadn't
just wasted my money on food I would have laughed!

| El Palacio of Kingman | Kingman, AZ | |
|
Absolutely delicious! Whether it's their tasty home made tacos
or their unique Red, White and Green, the food here is great- as can be
attested to by their nearly always packed parking. Just right for getting together with family and friends. Not too quiet, not
too noisy. There is a full bar for drinks before eating, as well as quenching you
thirst while you fill your belly full of great Mexican food!

| House of Chan | Kingman, AZ | |
|
This restaraunt used to be very good. Recently, I took my friend there
to thank her for having helped me. We chose the buffet, as I always do.
When we walked up to it, it looked ghastly. The noodles and rice were
at the bottom- during peak hours! Nearly everything was, as we walked
down the buffet. It all looked very low (nearly empty) and old, very
dried out. We sat down to eat and the food was actually inedible! The
Sweet and Sour meats could not be cut wirh a knife and fork, let alone
with your teeth! Very little on our plates could be eaten. My friend
told me that recently, the older man (owner) had passed away. The people
running it were apparently his heirs. Upon leaving, I asked for the
manager. A younger man with very poor English came to the register.
I politely explained the problem to him. I repeated, "You can't
eat it!". He angrily threw a $5.00 bill at me. I told him, "I
will NEVER come back here again!" We walked out the door for the
LAST time!
