| Outback Steakhouse | Westbury, NY | |
|
The Outback is a chain which has average food. The food is extremely
spicy or "HOT". Best known for the Spicy Onion Blossom.
The tables are close together and this is to be considered a place
to eat not to dine.Family friendly, lots of kids here....service
is adequate.

| Red Lobster | Hicksville, NY | |
|
The Red Lobster is a chain. They give a large variety of seafood
on their menu with many combinations. The cheese rolls they serve
are very good.Large sized drinks are also available. The shrimp
platter with shrimp cooked in different ways is very filling
and good. You have the feeling that this chain uses frozen foods
as the shrimps are always equal sized and similiarly placed on
the plate whether there is one person or 5 ordering the same dish.
Nevertheless it is fine for a change. The dining room is usually
filled and often a wait is necessary.

| Steve's Pier I | Bayville, NY | |
|
Nice view & atmosphere.Very rude service. This restaurant
is deceitful aside from serving pretty "average"
food. Having ordered Swordfish I was served Halibet, (which
I do not eat). I immediately brought this to the waiters attention
and asked for Swordfish. Instead of telling me they didn't
have any he insisted that was Swordfish. The manager finally
said well maybe they had made a mistake and substituted it as they
were out of what I ordered......and not even tell me and give me
the option of ordering something else I eat....no way would any
of the group we were with would return here!!!

| Hungry Bear | Bradford, VT | |

This truck stop is a find if you've been driving along looking
for a place to stop. Friendly service, and big portions here.

| Chelsea Royal Diner | Brattleboro, VT | |
|
This diner is a convenient stop for us when traveling back &
forth between the Upper Valley & NY. The food is good as is
the service and this place is really above your average diner.

| Lui Lui | West Lebanon, NH | |
|
This Italian restaurant is in a charming building at the end of
the Powerhouse Mall. The inside is lovely, with high ceilings
and an open hearth. It is owned by Jesses, (who also owns Molly's-
formally called Molly's Balloon) in Hanover. Generally
not as crowded as their other places this place is delightful
and different. The menu is Italian. The food is well prepared
and the service is wonderful. There is a hugh parking lot and generally
a young group of people here. Equally nice for dinner or a snack.Especially
clean!

| Weathervane Seafood Resttaurant & Market | West Lebanon, NH | |
|
Weathervane is a chain. It is in a hugh building, somewhat like
a barn, with dividers to tone down the noise. There are blackboards
set up all over with the specials of the day as well as menus. The
help is efficent and friendly. There clam soup is especially
good, and comes to you steaming hot...which is nice on a cold
day..the fish here is fresh and prepared well.If you like it you
can even purchase fresh fish from the fish market which is placed
stratigically at the front door. They are always busy and it is
rare that you don't have to wait on line.

| Stone Soup Restaurant | Strafford, VT | |
|
This place is weird to put it mildly! Although listed as a restaurant
in the area, and by the way the town it is in is called STAFFORD,
it is seldom open. Just 2 days a week. They take down their sign
when they are not open so they cannot be found as it in a house, and
looks like any other house on the street. After many tries we finally
found it open and ventured in with some friends. The place is kept
very dark, like a grotto...the only menu are a few hand written
items on a board. The soup was good, and the remainder of the meal
was fair .The drinks expensive and the bill outrageous!Although
recommended to us I wouln't suggest it to anyone else.

| Parker House Inn | Quechee, VT | |
|
Altho in the past this was known as one of the best dining places
around it has deteriorated in recent years. Still the food is
good but nothing special.Parking is a bit of a problem, they
have some behind the restaurant but you can park on the street
if necessary. This is certainly not a place for little children
as service is very slow.
|
||
| Fire Stones | Quechee, VT | |
|
Fire Stones is trying to play all the angles on eateries. They
are located on the 4 corners in a small stip mall. From the ouside
they appear to be a fine dining place. Not so...the food it OK..
The chicken is served too well cooked and is mostly dried out..the
grilled food comes however it gets there...not exactly as ordered..the
take out doesn't fare much better.

| Brooksies Restaurant | Sharon, VT | |
|
This is a family type restaurant, clean and pleasant. We had
lunch here.It relly is very much like a diner. The sandwiches
were full and good. There were many families with children here.
The service is good and friendly, and it is very reasonably priced.

| Snapper Inn | Oakdale, NY | |
|
The Snapper Inn is lovely on a nice sunny day, because it is on
the water it is a bit depressing on a foggy nasty day. There are
plenty of seats here and the menu offers a large variety of seafood, and
ways of having it.Service is not consistant it sort of depends
upon how bsy they are. If you like fish it is a place to visit.

| Canterbury Ales Oyster Bar | Oyster Bay, NY | |
|
This pub is OK for limited things & they should stick to what
they can make and stop trying to be what they're not! They
constantly offer discounts and if you want to try this place look
for one of these as they are very overpiced. Also I would suggest
going here for a snack or drink, not for dinner.

||
| Birndesi | Jericho, NY | |
|
OF the six people at dinner we were split over how good the food
was.The waiters are pretensious as is the entire place. Italian
food is served here and the menu is extensive. For really good
Italian food I'd go elsewhere, but the place is clean &
if you want to impress someone this can be nice. There is live music
sometimes.

| Lincoln Inn | Rockville Centre, NY | |
|
This is a charming inn the likes of which is uncomman on the South
Shore, in this area. The food is very good as is the service.I
would consider this place something special.

| Jolly Swagman | Hicksville, NY | |
|
This old place has been around for over 35 years that I know of.
They serve Austrailian food. Maybe it's just that I don't
like that kind of food, but I aalso found the place to be rather
dirty.

| Per Un'angelo | Wantagh, NY | |
|
This family owned restaurant is in the hotel. It has recently
been redone. The food is very good as is the service. We have met
various family members working here at different and all were
extremely nice. We have had dinner here (Italian food) numerous
times and have never had anything but very good food. Would suggest
calling for a reservation as the place is small.
|
||
| Fiddleheads | Oyster Bay, NY | |
|
This place is COLD and uninviting, despite the fact that they
have flowers and plants & the grill is open. From the unfriendly
girl who seated us to the waiter etc. you had the feeling they were
doing you a favour allowing you to dine in their place. The food
was fine, but don't order any of the specials without asking
the price beforehand.
|
||
| Applebee's Neighboorhood Bar & Grill | Hicksville, NY | |
|
This chain is a good one to take a family to as it has a very varied
menu & all of the kids are easily able to find something they
like. The salads here are also good, as are the Natcho's
, fried Chicken and Hambergers. The soda refills are free too. It's
a bit noisy at times. TV's are all over.
|
||
| Riverbay Seafood Bar & Grill | Williston Park, NY | |
|
The fish here rates well.It is very good and always fresh. The
place is large and noisy. Waiting on line is an adventure and I'm
not sure it is worthwhile, even tho the food is good.Wait we did
for over an hour.
