Nice atmosphere, on Kalapaki Bay. Great place for a late afternoon
lunch on the patio, cold beers for dessert! Reasonable prices and good
portions. You will see locals and tourists here.

| Pasta Mia | Las Vegas, NV | |
|
Very good Italian. We dined on Valentine's Day, so the restaurant
was VERY busy. The kitchen took a long time to make our order, in fact,
the table next to us took their just-delivered entrees out in a box.
We were not in a hurry, and took our time enjoying a bottle of chianti.
Service was friendly and efficient, considering how busy it was. A
bit pricey for lunch, but well worth it for dinner.

| La Beela Pizza Garden | Chula Vista, CA | |
|
One of the best pizza places ever! Great family atmosphere, reasonable
prices, and good selection of local brews. Also a good selection of
hot and cold subs and pasta dishes.

| Louie's Backyard | South Padre Island, TX | |
|
I have never dined downstairs, which has a buffet. Always go to the upstairs
bar for good happy hour specials, and daily dinner specials. Kinda
smoky, but lots of TVs for sports. Table service is a bit slow, we usually
eat and drink on the bar.

| Richard's Boudin & Seafood | Sulphur, LA | |
|
Good local place. The best crawfish ettouffe ever! Friendly service
and good prices. This place is worth getting off the interstate!

| Catfish Cabin | Lumberton, TX | |
|
Great family restaurant, where the locals go! Great service, even
though the place was packed. Nice, fresh, simple salad bar. I don't
eat hush puppies, but everyone else loved them.

| Mama's Grill | Batavia, OH | |
|
Kind of out of the way, but worth it. Great breakfasts served all day,
and decent sandwiches, dinners, and Cincinnati-style chili. Good
prices and portions.

| Chef Wayne's Big Mamou | Williamsburg, MA | |
|
The food was excellent! Our meat-and-potatoes friends indulged us
by coming along, and they had a great time too. One glaring drawback
was that our food took a very long time to arrive. We were not the last
ones in to the restaurant, but we were definitely the last ones out.
Our entrees took ONE HOUR to be prepared. The server did come by the table
twice to apologize, but on the second time should have brought us something
to nibble on to occupy (and placate) us. The server also did not stop
by mid-meal to check on us, noticeable only because our drinks were
empty.

| Brick Oven Pizza | Kalaheo, HI | |
|
Don't be fooled by the rave reviews. Two large pizzas for fifty
bucks is just a crime. A lot of locals go across the street to Pizza Hut,
or Pomodoro's for good Italian food.

||
| Cajun Claws | Abbeville, LA | |
|
A small place with excellent food. The bar area is as big as the dining
area. Arrive early or order appetizers at the bar. The couple next to
us on the bar drove from Lafayette (20 miles) just to eat this seafood!
Not to be missed!

| Kelly's Roast Beef Take Out | Saugus, MA | |
|
The big, bright and clean dining area does not make the roast beef sandwiches
any better. NOT the same as sitting on the wall at Revere Beach. If you
can't make it to the beach, ask a someone about a good local place
to get a beef sandwich.

| Davids Mai Lai Wah Chinese Restaurant | Philadelphia, PA | |
|
Good food, lots of it, reasonable prices. We wandered in off Market
Street and were pleasantly surprised. Not fancy but not tacky, comfortable
place for a date or a bunch of friends.
|
||
| Oskar's Cafe | Dadeville, AL | |
|
Great seafood, southern style. All local customers, everyone knows
everyone. Good, friendly service and reasonable prices. Dinners
include two sides, and are large enough to split.
|
||
| Randols Restaurant & Cajun Dancehall | Lafayette, LA | |
|
Good food and portions, but a bit pricey. The live music invites all
to come out and dance, even little kids. Service was friendly, but slow.
|
||
| Don Oscar's Mexican Restaurant and Cantina | San Angelo, TX | |
|
We stumbled into this place by accident. What a great surprise! The
food was excellent, and the service was prompt, friendly and professional.
You know you're in a good place when there's locals walking
in the door. We had 99 cent beers and dinner, and our tab was $25!!!

| Mama Louisa's Italian Restaurant | Tucson, AZ | |
|
Good food at a great price. Informal dining in a casual setting, it's
a nice place for a date or to bring the family.
|
||
| Island Manapua Factory | Honolulu, HI | |
|
New owners have not changed anything significant. Many items run out
in the evening, but the lunchtime line is out the door. Lots of manapua
selections at reasonable prices.

||
| El Cid Mexican Cuisine | Oakhurst, CA | |
|
You know this is a good place to eat when it's filled with locals!
Good food, great margaritas, reasonable prices.
|
||
| La Casa Gutierrez | Yuma, AZ | |
|
Excellent Mexican food at reasonable prices. This is a small restaurant
in a house, hard to find but worth the stop.
|
||
| Don Quijote Mexican Food | Yuma, AZ | |

Best Mexican food in the Foothills. Family restaurant, reasonable
prices with good, fast service. Some good American selections on the
menu, too.
