| Big House Brewing Co | Albany, NY | |
|
Decent food and great drinks. A brew pub in downtown albany. Well
known for its specialty beers made on premesis. The food is good
although the service is lacking sometimes. Its jam packed on
weekend nights with bar patrons and dancing with the djs on the
first and third floor.

| Pagliacci Ristorante | Albany, NY | |
|
Excellent place to go if you are going to the pepsi. The summer
is nice if and when they have the patio on the roof open. The food
is decent, but nothing to write home about. Service is usually
good, but there have been times when I seem like I have been forgotten.
Nice big bar, a good place to go to grab a bite to eat before an event
or a drink after.

| P J's Saratoga Style Bar-B-Q | Saratoga Springs, NY | |
|
Unbelievable chicken bar-b-que! Absolutely the best around!
Excellent place to stop after a day at the track. Friendly service,
and they are the inventors of Sarasoda, a refreshing loganberry
soda. Seasonal and mostly outdoors, so plan accordingly, but
definately not one to pass up! Worth the trip from just about anywhere.
you will not be disappointed!

| Lake George Pancake House | Lake George, NY | |
|
Excellent breakfast! Excellent anytime! Wonderful setting,
clean and friendly service. Food is always hot and fresh and served
quickly. Couldn't ask for a better place to get a hot stack,
or an omlette. Simply good food and reasonable prices. What more
can you ask for?

| Colonie Diner | Albany, NY | |
|
Quick service. Food is always good. Very predictable. Clean
restaurant, and friendly service. Nice place to grab a quick
bite or to meet up with people.

| Gateway-Diner | Albany, NY | |
|
Full menu. Typical diner fare, but decent prices and quick service.
Worth stopping in if you are looking for somewhere to grab a quick
meal.

| Wolf Road Diner | Albany, NY | |
|
In need of remodeling. Average diner food, definately nothing
to write home about. If you're hungry try it out. Spotty service,
but usually friendly.

||
| Farmer Boy Diner | Albany, NY | |
|
Again, typical diner fare, but pretty good service, and fresh
hot food make it a place worth stopping if you are in the mood for
diner food. Always seems pretty clean and well run. Not too bad!

| Menand's Diner | Albany, NY | |
|
Below average food, and slightly above average prices lend to
the poor ratings. Better off stopping at gus's if you are
in the area for a greasy meal. Its not terrible, but I've definately
had better.

| Charleston Crab House | Charleston, SC | |
|
Fantastic food, superb service and unbelieveable relaxed atmosphere.
What more can I say. Charleston seafood at its best. Every entree
is well prepared and well thought out. Fresh seafood specials
daily, and portions are very nice. Definately a place to seek
out if you are in the Charleston area!

| Kaminsky's Most Excellent Cafe | Charleston, SC | |
|
The BEST homemade pies and desserts that I have ever had. I love
the entire Kaminsky's experience. The coffee and drinks
are excellent. Always busy and always worth the wait. It is a place
that will burn a memory in your mind and your heart. If you are in
charleston for any reason, its definately worth the stop for
dessert at Kaminsky's. Right on the market, very easy to
find. Attached to T-bones steak restaurant. Don't miss
out!

| Wild Wing Cafe | Charleston, SC | |
|
An AMAZING selection of wings. So many different kinds to try,
you have to go here several times to try them all. They offer sampler
platters to try a bunch of flavors. A fun atmosphere, and there
is often times entertainment or games going on in the evening.
If you like wings, this is definately one place to check out!

| Breck's Place | Charleston, SC | |
|
HUGE and I mean HUGE portions. It's all about the steak at
Brecks. The sides are just that, sides here. The lunch specials
keep the place packed during the lunch hours. While I was living
in SC, I ate there at least twice a week for lunch. Prices are extremely
low for the amount of food you get. The veggies are a little sub
par, but its the steak and potatoes that you go here for. They cut
their own steaks in the basement of the restaurant. The staff
is always very friendly and casual. No need to dress up to go here.
If you like BIG steaks, check out Brecks!

| Big House Grill | Albany, NY | |
|
Decent food, but nothing stellar. I thought the prices were a
little high for the atmosphere and quality. It is a restaurant
spin off of the sucessful downtown albany brew pub the Big House.
They do have some good microbrews. Not a bad place, but nothing
stellar except maybe the beers.

| Houlihan's Restaurant | Albany, NY | |
|
Never been impressed with the service. Every time I go there I
am treated like an annoyance rather than a customer. The food
is ok, about the same as an Applebees or Uno's. The wait is
long on the weekend especially, but thats pretty much the norm
at any of the mall restaurants. If they could cheer up the staff
a bit I would give it 3 stars.

| O'Toole's Restaurant & Pub | Albany, NY | |
|
Nice atmosphere and good food. A fireplace in the center of the
room adds to the casual feeling. There is a car show in the adjacent
parking lot in the summpertime. The bar and restaurant do not
interfere with each other so if you are just looking for dinner
the bar noise will not drive you out. All in all a nice place for
a brew or a meal.

| Olive Garden Italian Restaurant | Albany, NY | |
|
Service is always excellent when I have eaten at the olive garden.
Long wait at the door most nights, especially on friday or the
weekend, but that usually means good food for those who wait.
No exception here. Well rounded menu of italian dishes. Extensive
wine selection and a full bar on premises for those who wish to
partake. Breadsticks are excellent and even better when ordered
with the alfredo dipping sauce. People rave about the dressing
on the all you can eat salad. All in all a good italian restaurant
for a chain. Definately worth checking out.
|
||
| Butcher Block Steak & Seafood | Albany, NY | |
|
Average for a steak house, nice atmosphere. Food is good, salad
bar is well stocked and set up nicely. Nothing stands out about
the butcher block, but it is a nice place to get a decent meal. The
staff is always friendly and helpful. Usually a bit of a wait on
the weekends, but not unbearable. All in all, not bad.

||
| Castelo's Pizza Restaurant | Schenectady, NY | |
|
Good food, much improved since new ownership several years ago.
Very generous portions! Excellent for a quick lunch in schenectady.
Good downtown location. Staff is always professional and friendly.
Off site delivery is available.
|
||
| Rockefeller's | Schenectady, NY | |
|
Excellent atmosphere! Head Chef Keith Rockefeller creates
some exquisite meals at reasonable prices. Formerly Perrino's,
under new ownership and management, the Rockefeller family
has created a small gem in Schenectady. The one thing that could
be better is parking, but that is not the fault of the restaurant.
The portions are very generous, and the sauce is always homemade.
Open from Tuesday to sunday for dinner. Reservations are accepted
and may be a good idea on a busy night like friday or the weekend,
but the wait is not usually long if at all. Friendly staff and a
relaxed atmosphere with fireplaces add to the dining experience.
I must recommend the pasta Amanda, its quite good. There is also
a bar in the front half of the restaurant, not too big and not crowded.
All in all a great place for a good italian meal in Schenectady.
Stop in and give them a try!
