| Yanni's Mediterrean Bar | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
A good place if you're NOT in a hurry. If you want to go to a weekday
lunch here, leave your job about 9 in the morning, cuz it takes a while.
Food is pretty good, if not a little pricey, though.

| Fred's Bread & Bagel | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
My friend and I looked all over for Fred's and couldn't find
it. I think they went out of business.

| Trattoria Trombino Italian | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
Attended a birthday bash here a couple of weeks ago, so we had a big crowd.
Maybe that's why the orders were all mixed up. The food was iffy,
at best, and figuring out the check was a mess.

| Bea's Mexican Restaurant 2 | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
One of the best New Mexican diners in town. Good prices, and big portions.
It's in a crappy part of town, but the food is worth it.

| Spectators the Sporting Grill | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
A fun place place to hang out and watch sports. DUH! Food is okay, but
it's a sport bar, okay? Very hot wait staff, and that's always
a plus, and the beer is always ice cold.

| Quarters | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
The food is okay, nothing to write home about, but all in all, decent
barbeque. The wine selection is terrific, though, and helps out the
food a lot.

| Taco Sal | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
One of those out of the way places that only the locals know about. In
a strip center on Menaul, but the food is pretty good. A nice place for
a casual lunch.

||
| Great American Land & Cattle | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
Kinda pricey, but hey, the food is worth it, in my humble opinion. You
can't beat the view, and they have a superb wine list.

| Romano's Macaroni Grill | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
A group of friends went here last week for dinner. What can I say? Awesome!
A definite must for real Italian food.
|
||
| Paul's Monterey Inn | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
Truly a great place. Bring your appetite cuz the steaks are big and tender.
Don't be fooled by the exterior, as it hides a great meal inside
|
||
| Artichoke Cafe | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
Not a bad place if you're looking to impress a date or business client.
Very nice wine list, especially with the new bar area added on. Food
is kinda funky, but that's part of the schtick of the place.

||
| Flying Star | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
The place to go when you're disgusted with Scalos, and that doesn't
take long. Just a block west and worth the short walk. Food is good, and
the desserts are out of this world. Huge slices of chocolate cake!!!

||
| Monroe's Restaurant | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
Monroe's tries really hard, but falls short of the mark. Maybe
they are catering to the Old Town tourist trade, but for locals, you
can do better for mexican food. Feels like Garduno's to me.

| Outback Steakhouse | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
Recently, I ordered a meat pie at Outback and the waiter looked at me
like I had two heads. I said "Meat pie, mate. You know, like the
kind of tucker they serve down under." He told me that there was
no meat pie on the menu, and that he'd never heard of it. So there
you have it: American food with Australian names. Good thing I didn't
ask for kangaroo!

| Paisano's Italian Restaurant | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
One of Albuquerque's best kept secrets. This unimposing little
Italian restaurant in the heights has been there for years, and yet
it always manages to serve great food. Skip the chains (Carraba's,
Macaroni Grill) and enjoy real Italian food here!

||
| Garcia's Kitchen-The Original | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
Unlike the first two reviews, I'll try to be a little more original
(gotta love that "cut and paste" feature, eh?). In a word,
fantastic! A cross between a diner and a mexican kitchen, Garcia's
will fill you up and won't bankrupt you. Very busy at lunch time
so be prepared, but it's worth the wait.

||
| Tucanos Brazilian Grill | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
Guess I'm not enough of a world travler to realize just how "terrible"
the place is. I was pretty amazed at the concept. Six of us went to eat
here, and it was a show in itself. Great food, good service and a truly
great experience.

| Owl Cafe | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
If you want the true Owl Cafe experience, then you need a road trip. Go
south of Albuquerque about an hour and a half to Highway 380, exit 139
off I-25. Go east to San Antonio (about a minute) and you'll see
the original Owl. This place is the real deal. The one in Albuquerque
is franchised and not owned by the same people. But before you go into
the Owl in San Antonio, look across the highway to the south. You'll
see the Buckhorn Cafe. Go there instead, because the burger is much
better.
|
||
| Wolfe's Bagels | Albuquerque, NM | |
|
Family owned and operated, Wolfe's has great bagels and schmear
(cream cheese). Skip Einstein's and you'll be glad you did.
|
||
| El Comedor De Anayas | Moriarty, NM | |
|
Not a great place...not even a good place. The service took forever,
the food was lackluster, and it just seemed like no one really cared.
Two of us waited almost an hour for a combo mexican plate and a burger.
Damn, I could have gone to McDonald's or Taco Bell for better food
and been 75 miles down the road.
