| Church's Fried Chicken | San Ysidro, CA | |
|
It is true that Church's does make a decent fried chicken.
The reality of this restaurant location is that it is rather hard
to get to and not easily accessed, even from the main road. San
Ysidro Boulevard can be very difficult to navigate. For out of
towners (tourists), the community may also be a bit daunting.
Locals, however, know what the traffic can be like, and know the
area.

| Butcher Shop Restaurants The Chula Vista | Chula Vista, CA | |
|
The Butcher Shop is a very nice restaurant that takes you back
to the time of steakhouses filled with leather seating, dark
wood tables, and dim lighting. Truely catering to a "man's
taste", the waitresses are dressed like cocktail waitresses
(short skirts, low blouses), and the steaks are thick and hearty.
The interior is showing a little wear, but the staff is very professional
and makes the effort to make sure you have a good dining experience.

| Aunt Emma's Pancake Restaurant | Chula Vista, CA | |
|
I will admit it... I LOVE a good breakfast restaurant! Aunt Emma's
has been a long time family favorite. The value for your dollar
is exceptional! The three egg omlettes are over filled and tasty,
and the pancackes come in every imaginable flavor and style.
The restaurant was recently renovated, and looks very nice.
If you are in South San Diego/Chula Vista, Aunt Emma's is
worth a detour. Be prepared to wit if it is during breakfast rush...
but it is worth it!

This restaurant has been closed for a long time. There have been
several other restaurants at this location, but none have stayed
very long.

| D'Lish Gourmet Pasta and Pizza | Chula Vista, CA | |
|
Yummy! D'lish is a great casual dining place for woodfire
pizza, salads, and nice pasta dishes. The menu has a little something
for most tastes, and there is a good variety of options in pizza
toppings and pasta sauces. D'lish is a local favorite.

| Bryan's Landing | Chula Vista, CA | |
|
This location is no longer operating as a restaurant. It is now
a very rundown bar, with no tables, two pool tables, and a couple
of video tyoe games.

| The Argonaut Diner | Yonkers, NY | |
|
The Argonaut is my favorite diner in Yonkers! The decore is a little
busy (I am not sure the Norman Rockwellish wall paper goes with
the nautical border, but...), but the staff is very nice and good
at serving the customer. Like other diner's the menu is extensive,
and the kitchen is willing to substitute items to make things
work for the customer. Breakfasts are heary and large in portion
size. My personal favorite is the steak and eggs, or the ham steak
and eggs. If you are there for dinner, the specials are always
tasty and fresh. And I definitely agree with the other reviewer...
try the baklava... it is devine!
