| Flat Branch Pub & Brewing | Columbia, MO | |
|
Nice eatery on the fringes of downtown Columbia and within a few
minutes of the MU campus. Great atmosphere with very good food.
Service is very good. They have a micro brewery on site offering
several varietys of unique beers. The brew master even offers
classes during the week for those interested. The brewing vats
are visible through floor to ceiling glass in certain sections
of the restaurant. Definitely worth a try.

| Jack's Gourmet Restaurant | Columbia, MO | |
|
Very good food and service. A little more formal than most though
suit and tie is not required. It also tends to bring in the older
crowd and couples interested in romance. Children are welcome
but most would probably not want to pay for little Johnny's
or Jane's half-eaten meal. Jack's has a huge catering
business and everyone loves to see the Jack's van outside
the office. Personally used them for our wedding and were not
disappointed. A must for a special night out.

||
| Murry's | Columbia, MO | |
|
Excellent food and service in a lovely atmosphere. Live music
on the weekends and often performers in town for a show will join
in a jam session. Usually very crowded on the weekends and especially
on game days as it is literally less than 5 minutes from Farot field.
Should you go, the Galic potatos are to die for and go well with
the steak. A must for romance or that special evening.

| 63 Diner | Columbia, MO | |
|
The 63 diner is a blast from the past. Servers are dressed in poodle
skirts and pony tails. Great food and excellent service. Their
burgers are to die for. This restaurant is often crowded, especially
on the weekend, but the wait is definitely worth it.
A must on any visit to Columbia.

| Shakespeare's Pizza | Columbia, MO | |
|
A landmark in Columbia near the MU campus. Usually crowded with
collage kids families are also in abundance. The pizza is wonderful
with a wheat crust. The cooks can be watched through a half glass
wall prepare the pizzas and sandwiches(also wonderful) and
will throw dough over the glass for waiting children to catch.
There is now a second Shakespear's Pizza on the West side
of town on Broadway in the shopping plaza next the the HyVee grocery
store. The food is just as good and the atmosphere is more toward
families.

| Heidelberg Restaurant | Columbia, MO | |
|
A great collage hangout almost on the MU campus. Great burgers
and other good food. Service was good. Sadly, though, the Heidelberg
was destroyed by fire a few months ago. Hopefully they will rebuild.

| House of Chow | Columbia, MO | |
|
Debatably the best chinese food in Columbia. Great food and service.
Full service bar with a piano complete with pianist. Portions
are large and you won't go away hungry. They also do walk-in
and phone in takeout. Hungry for chinese? House of Chow is the
answer.
|
||
| Everett's Restaurant & Lounge | Columbia, MO | |
|
One of the best steaks in Columbia. Full service bar. Often crowded.
Great service, with attentive servers, on a par with restaurants
you wear a suit and tie for. Though this is a chain restaurant,
with locations in a few other midwest cities, you won't be
able to tell.
|
||
| Broadway Diner | Columbia, MO | |
|
Great little 50's style diner. Opens late at night and stays
open until morning. The diner was moved within the last 6 months
to a year in its entirety to make way for a new Walgreens. It was
quite the spectacle including the police escort. The Broadway
diner is a Columbia landmark with good food for the money.

||
| G & D Steak House | Columbia, MO | |
|
Good place to go if you don't want to spend alot on a meal and
don't mind an average steak. The atmosphere is reminiscent
of Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi" establishment. You
can get full without emptying your wallet here.
|
||
| Bambino's Italian Cafe | Columbia, MO | |
|
Good Italian food for a good price. Service is good. Parking can
be a problem at times as the restaurant is located downtown near
the MU campus. This is the sister restaurant of Nonna's in
Springfield, MO. If you are looking for good Italian food at
a reasonable price than Bambino's is the place.
|
||
| Chou's Buffet | Columbia, MO | |
|
Located near downtown Chou's Buffet offers a wide variety
of chinese cuisine at a reasonable price. The food is good as well
as the service. Great Wall Buffet a few miles up the road is giving
Chou's some competition but Chou's is well established.
Worth a visit if you are looking to consume a variety of chinese
dishes.
|
||
| Pasta Factory | Columbia, MO | |
|
Pasta Factory in Columbia is one in a chain of Pasta Factory restaurants.
I hope the others are better. The food is average along with the
service. Portions are large. In fact large enough that leftovers
can be eaten by the busboys(witnessed last and final visit) as
they clean the tables. If you want Italian, steer clear and go
to Bambinos or even Fazoli's which is near the Pasta Factory.
|
||
| C C 's City Broiler | Columbia, MO | |
|
Best steak in Columbia, MO. This is a small restaurant and waits
can be long especially on weekends, holidays and graduation
but definitely worth it. Semi-formal in attire. Romantic atmosphere.
Children are welcome but it is not really all that kid friendly.
They have outdoor seating which is great warm Spring, Summer
and Fall days. They do have full length canvas coverings and large
propane outdoor heaters for cold days but unless your from Minnesota
stay seated indoors. Service is attentive and rivals the high-end
steak houses of Kansas City.
|
||
| Olive Garden | Springfield, MO | |
|
Olive Garden has very good Italian food with great service. Portions
are large and their bottomless salad and endless breadsticks
hit the spot. This restaurant is very popular in Springfield,
MO and can get crowded especially on weekends but it is worth the
wait.
|
||
| Hamby's Steak House | Springfield, MO | |
|
If you are looking for old fashioned, home cooking this is the
place. It is small and the atmosphere reminds one of the 1950's.
This restaurant is located very close to several city/county
government buildings and getting lunch on your lunch hour can
be difficult during the week but if you have the time it is worth
the wait.
|
||
| Schultz & Dooley's Too | Springfield, MO | |
|
Great little after work meeting place for the up and coming. Often
crowded during the week at happy hour. Good food, nice atmosphere
and good service. Bar/Restaurant type of facility. Good place
to go for a drink or a meal with friends or alone looking for a new
friend.
|
||
| Ryans Steak House | Springfield, MO | |
|
Typical all you can eat establishment with food bar. Entrees
are between $5-$10 but bill can creep above with addition of all
you can eat food bar. Usually very crowded. Servers do a pretty
good job of making sure you have plenty to drink and fresh plates.
Usually have some selections for the kiddies such as macaroni
and cheese, spaghetti with sauce on side and lots of desserts.
If you don't mind crowds, eating until you almost can't
move because you want to get your money's worth or the in-laws
you really don't like are in town then this is the place for
you.
|
||
| Jade East Inc. | Springfield, MO | |
|
This is pretty good chinese food in a town known for its large number
of chinese restaurants. Service is good and selection and freshness
are adequate. There is rumor that the restaurant will be changing
hands, continuing to service chinese cuisine, but changing
names. If you are looking for good chinese food then give them
a try. They also have a drive thru.
|
||
| Buckingham Smokehouse Barbq | Springfield, MO | |
|
If you are looking for great BBQ then this is the place. Great plate
meals and sandwiches. The sauces are to die for. There is limited
indoor seating with additional seating outdoors which is not
an option during a Missouri winter. Definitely worth the stop.
