North Shore Bistro Milwaukee, WI
Located in a strip mall, the North Shore Bistro does not appear to be much from a distance. Upon approaching the bistro a quaint patio is revealed slightly lower than the parking lot. The interior is set up wonderfully with a small bar and dining room. Service is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is presented marvelously with terrific contrasts of colors and the flavor is unbelievable. Generous portions are served at a reasonable price. Solly's Coffee Shop Milwaukee, WI
WoW, if you like butter this is the place for you. Hamburgers are served in a pool of butter and dripping. This is the most butter I have ever had on a hamburger. It is a good thing there is a hospital across the street because there is a good chance you will need it. The atmosphere of Solly’s is very friendly and clean with a small hometown feel to it. The service is fast and the wait staff handles your order as if you were at a family cook-out. Just about everybody sits at the counter and rubbing elbows with a stranger is not uncommon. The prices are reasonable, but a little higher than I expected. Overall, Solly’s is a nice place (if you do not mind a crowd), with good food (if you like butter and heart conditions). Highland Howie Pub & Grill Llc Green Bay, WI
Absolutely terrific perch! I have been to this restaurant a number of times and every time I go I am absolutely amazed by how great the perch is. I am not sure how anything else on the menu is because I just can not pass it up. The atmosphere is more of a bar atmosphere, and there are very few tables which results in a fairly long wait before seating. Usually the wait is about 45 minutes, so be prepared to have a couple drinks standing around the bar, and if you are lucky you might get a stool. Once seated, the service is very friendly, and food is brought to the table in relatively short amount time. The food could be a little more visually appealing, but the flavor makes up for this slight slip in rating. Overall, the wait may be long, and the atmosphere is lacking, but the food is worth it, I would camp overnight to get a plate of their perch. <br> Atmosphere 3 Service 3 Food 4 Price 4
Bentley's Restaurant & Lounge Milwaukee, WI
Bentley’s is located in the Manchester East Hotel & Suites and primarily appeals to guests of the hotel. This restaurant tries hard, but lacks drive to become a great restaurant. The atmosphere of Bentley’s is very pleasant. The dinning room is fairly small but decorated nicely. The service is friendly, but can occasionally be slow. I do not blame the servers or cooks for this because servers not only wait on tables, but deliver food to rooms in the hotel for room service. This results in a painfully long wait if there are a lot of orders. Entrees are served with delicious rolls in a basket, which are good enough to order on their own. The food at Bentley’s does make an impressive showing, making the plate appear to be more of a canvas than a mere piece of glass. The flavor of the food is good, nothing spectacular, but a solid good flavor, and with portions that left me more than satisfied. The price for a meal, is a little high but not horrible. If staying in the restaurant, breakfast is free, and the slightly diminished quality of the free meal is evident, but then again, it is free, so I can not complain. Dos Bandidos Milwaukee, WI
Located off of Green Bay Avenue Dos Bandidos has a fairly bland exterior appearance. After stepping into the building the atmosphere improved slightly, but the “Mexican feel” was lacking and could primarily be found through the chairs and a few objects on the wall. After breaking through the physical appearance of the establishment, it became quite obvious the remainder of the meal would exceed the dull start. Immediately after being seated I was brought a basket of tortilla chips which appeared to just be tortilla shells that have been sliced, baked, and seasoned. Despite the fact that these chips appeared to be made of stale shells the flavor was impressive, with a mild chili powder for flavor. The salsa was also good, but could have been a little chunkier and spicier in my opinion. Shortly after being seated my order was taken, and brought out surprisingly fast. The service was friendly and checking up on my satisfaction at every possible chance. The food was served on a colorful plate giving it an authentic appeal, and an assortment of colors that teased my taste buds before I even had a chance to take a bite. The appeal of the food did not stop at the appearance; everything on the plate had a terrific authentic flavor. Then came the most painful part of the meal…the bill; surprisingly it was relatively inexpensive considering the large amount of food delivered. Overall Dos Bandidos is a very good Mexican restaurant that gives you your money’s worth. Atmosphere 3 Service 4 Food 4 Price 3
Oakland Trattoria Milwaukee, WI
The atmosphere is the first aspect of this particular restaurant that stands out from the others. Its unique decorations of large peppers are done very tastefully by keeping an up market yet casual atmosphere. For this adventure into the world of flavor I decided to try the traditional lasagna. The service was very friendly and eager to do what it took to make the dinning event an enjoyable one. The meal was brought to the table in a reasonable amount of time, and made visually stunning appearance with its variety of colors. The food was equally as stunning with a great amount of flavor, and there was more than enough for a full meal. The price did seem a little high, but definitely within reason considering the terrific atmosphere, service, and flavor. Atmosphere 4 Service 4 Food 4 Price 3
Victoria's Green Bay, WI
Great Italian food, service, and atmosphere! By far the best Italian in the area.
