Having been in Florida for the last 20 years something has kinda bothered me. Lousy Pizza! When people think that Ci Ci's Pizza or Papa Johns is the best, It gives me the major pucker factor. Mikeys's Pizza on Main St. in Dunedin is only one of 3 Pizza shops that are the best in the area. This is family owned and operated by a father and son team Mike and Chris. And they are extreamly nice people. First of all the key is in the the taste of the dough. I can walk into any pizza shop and tell you if it will be good just by the smell of what is in the oven. I am a big Sicilan Pizza fan and this by far was the best I have had in the 20 years I have been in Florida. And of course the round pizza is the same. And they are very generous with the toppings. (I hate mushrooms that taste like an old tire patch) The Subs are good, (NY STYLE) But there are better in the area. The Cheesesteaks are ok, But you don't make a true Philly Cheesesteak with Provolone cheese. Thats a NY thing. I worked at the Famous Pat's Steaks in S. Philly when I was 16. You should use Melted Cheese Whiz!! or (Gasp) American Cheese. If you are looking for true NY style pizza, Your search is over. One final note! These guys advertise HEAVY in all the local flyers that come out. 2 full pages of coupons.
