Excellent food. Friendly family owned restaurant with sports bar
atmosphere. They have nightly specials M-F. Tuesday nights are $9.95
Ribeye steak night. 16oz ribeye is normally $23.95. Pan fried oyster
dinner on Weds. nights, among other specials. Great place, 5 stars!

| Whale's Tale Restaurant | Newport, OR | |

Great seafood restaurant. Comfortable atmosphere. Higher end on
the price scale. The owner is a 'real" chef.

| Galley Ho | Newport, OR | |

Sally H. said it all. They went out of business.

| Abby's Legendary Pizza | Newport, OR | |
|
If you're looking for great pizza and not one of those take and bak
places go to Abby's Legnedary Pizza. They've been around
forever and are always consistently good. Real restaurant pizza.
Atmosphere is very open with a fireplace. Pizza prices are average
for these days.

| Embarcadero Restaurant | Newport, OR | |
|
Great food, atmosphere and bayview dining. Always consistently good
food and service. Prices are average.

| Kam Meng | Newport, OR | |
|
The very best Chinese restaurant on the Oregon Coast in my opinion.
The food is always excellent and the owners Kam Meng and wife Hoya are
the nicest people. You can also find many unusual seafood dishes here
which Hoya always urges you to try. Restaurant is on the south end of
the Bayfront tucked in by Shirleys. Small restaurant with beautiful
view of the bay. Also has outdoor seating on the deck.

| Courthouse Cafe&dinner House | Newport, OR | |
|
We were not impressed with this cafe.
|
||
| Lee's Wok | Newport, OR | |
|
Too much meat and not enough vegetables among other things...
A way better choice for Chinese food is Kam Meng down on the Bayfront
in Newport.

| Mo's Annex | Newport, OR | |
|
Mo's has "the" best clam chowder hands down. I am also
a clam chowder snob and nobody else's clam chowder can compare
to Mo's. For another treat try their slumgullian clam chowder.
It has shrimp in as well as clams. The cannon ball is another treat. A
sourdough bowl filled with clam chowder. Garlic cheese toast is excellent
for dipping in your chowder and cleaning up your bowl. All of the Mo's
restaurants are consistently good. The one on the Bayfront in Newport
is hard to get into during tourist season so you may have to go across
the street to their anex. There are also locations in Otter Rock Oregon
on Cape Foulweather, and also in Florence Oregon and Lincoln City Oregon.

| Chalet Restaurant & Bakery | Newport, OR | |
|
Nice country type atmosphere. Food is excellent and prices are good.
My favorite menu item here is the Chalet chicken sandwich. It has a really
good sweet and sour sauce on it. Their desserts are homemade and delicious.
I've never had a bad meal here. Always consistently good.

| Canyon Way Bookstore & Restrnt | Newport, OR | |
|
Very good restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere. My favorite menu
item is the shrimp alfredo. Also has an extensive book store where you
can find some very interesting reads.

| The Roadhouse Grill | Salem, OR | |
|
This is my all time favorite restaurant. They have the very best 12 &
16 oz rib eye steaks and prime rib, loaded garlic mashed potatoes, and
melt in your mouth yeast rolls with honey butter all served with a big
salad loaded with bacon and cheese. I have ate here more times than I
can count. Only one time have I ever had below par food and service. I
wrote to the headquarters to let them know of my experience, I got no
response back. I was disapointed by that as I was not asking for anything.
Just wanted to let them know because I would hate to see my favorite place
go down hill. I have gone back many times since and the food and service
were great like always. Maybe the one time was just a bad day...I hope.
The atmosphere is relaxed and layed back. Staff in blue jeans and t-shirts,
restaurant is a western style atmosphere. Good prices and large portions.
You really get your moneys worth here. Restaurant tradition: People
eat peanuts served in a small bucket while waiting for their food to
arrive, then throw the peanut shells on the floor. I can't bring
myself to doing that but my husband has no problem doing it, ggg The Roadhouse
Grill gets 5 Stars from me!

| Casa Baez Authentic Mexican Restaurant | Salem, OR | |
|
My favorite Mexican restaurant. They used to be called Los Baez and
have been around for many many years. The food is always great, prices
are good and the staff is usually very attentive. I've ate here
many times over the years. The homemade salsa and tortilla chips are
the best I've ever had and they keep'em coming as much as you
want.

| Outback Steakhouse | Salem, OR | |
|
Excellent everytime! One of my favorite places to eat when I go to Salem.
The bloomin onion is great, prime rib and ribeye steaks are excellent.

| Rib Eye Restaurant | Chehalis, WA | |
|
I am a Ribeye steak and Prime Rib snob. We have seen the signs for Becks
Rib Eye Restaurant many times and recently decided to stop in and try
them out. Restaurant was nothing fancy...western motiff. Our server
was average. My husband and I ordered our rib eye steaks medium rare
and they came well done. Garlic mashed potatos tasted kind of old and
so did the veggie medley. I really was kind of disapointed as I had hoped
that they would be better. The rib eye dinner was $19.95 for a 10 oz, I
think. The price was a little on the high end for what we got and especially
the quality. Don't know if I'd eat here again. Could have just
been the day...

| Joeys Bellevue Place | Bellevue, WA | |
|
Five of us ate at Joeys recently on a Saturday evening. It was busy and
we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. Reservations recommended.
It was worth the wait. The atmosphere was exciting, the staff very friendly
and professional, and the food was excellent. The prices are decent
for a more upscale restaurant. The portion sizes are also very good.
Our menu choices ranged from the Grilled Chicken Sandwhich, to the
Rotisserie Chicken And Rib Combo, on up to a Peppercorn New York steak.
We all left feeling happy, very satisfied and full from our menu choices.
Five stars, highly recommended.

| Landmark Restaurant | Yachats, OR | |
|
The Landmark is a really nice place to eat with a beautiful ocean front
seat to dine by. Watch the salmon swim from the ocean up the stream to
spawn in the Yachats River while you dine. They have great food. Their
breakfasts are especially good. Seafood dinners are great. Service
is friendly and prices are good.
|
||
| Drift Inn | Yachats, OR | |
|
The Drift Inn is a great place to dine. They have live music on Friday
and Saturday nights with musicians from all over the Pacific Northwest.
The food is excellent with a great atmosphere. With a full bar which
has the finest wines and microbrews. The staff are friendly and efficient.
Yachats is an eclectic little town with many types of people. The Drift
Inn is no exception to that. The Drift Inn is a local favorite.

| La Serre Restaurant | Yachats, OR | |
|
La Serre has good food but they are really big into presentation. So
if you have a normal appetite and come in hungry, chances are you're
going to leave hungry. The portion sizes are small and very expensive
for what you get. If your appetite is on the lighter side and the amount
that you spend on a meal is no big deal, than La Serre is a good place for
you. I give La Serre a 3 because of the small portion sizes and the prices.
|
||
| Le Roy's Blue Whale | Yachats, OR | |
|
They have really great fish and chips and also an excellent smoked salmon
omelet. Prices are good, especially if you have kids and are on a budget.
Portions are generous. Also, their chocolate peanut butter is to die
for.
