| Thai Pot Cafe | Denver, CO | |
|
I was rather pleasantly surprised by this little un assuming nieghborhood
cafe. The food is just like the restaurants in Rayong and Phang Ngha
provinces in Thailand. Not a large selection but they do have Mango
andSticky Rice!
Their Phad Thai is great and their Tom Kha is some of the best I've
had outside of my favorite little restaurant in TaKuaPa.
The owners and the staff are great examples of the incredible warmth
and friendliness of the Thai people.
Drop in and say Sawadee and they will feed you well.

| Imperial Chinese Seafood Restaurant | Denver, CO | |
|
My most recent visit to this restaurant was quite a bit better than my
last two.
It is really not a place where you will ever find a lot of Native Chinese
dining but the food has improved.
It was the perfect place to take my Mother In Law who would have been overwhelmed
by more authentic Chinese cuisine.
Too croded and a bit overpriced but a good placefor the average Gwai
Loh.

| Empress Seafood Restaurant | Denver, CO | |
|
Denver now has numerous Dim Sum places and after trying several I would
say that the Empress is still one of the best.
The Tzok is excellent, The Siu Up , Char Siu Bao, ang Har Gow as good as
any in Yau Ma Tai.

| Vegetarian Dim Sum House | New York, NY | |
|
This is still the best Vegetarian Dim Sum Restaurant in NYC.
Vegetarian Dim Sum House would hold it's own in Hong Kong or Guan
Zhuo. Most of the dishes are vegan and it is all Glatt Kosher(V). Some
of my personal favorites
are the Char Siu Bow (Mock roast pork buns) Har Gow (shrimp dumplings)
Siu Mai, and the roast Duck. Great for a snack or a full meal.
A good restaurant if you are on a diet , a Vegan or are just looking for
a healthy meal.

| First Oriental Cafe | Denver, CO | |
|
Amazingly this establishment has managed to raise itself even
higher.
A charming Chinese Cafe where casual dining is the reallity.
Many local business people and office workers are regulrs here
for Lunch and often for dinner. While there are some Vietnamese
and a few Japanese dishes on the menue this is indeed an authentic
Hong Kong style restaurant (like the ones I remember back in Tsim
Sha Tsoi) Meat, Fowl, Fish and Veggie dishes are available.
Some Reccomended Dishes;
Chicken and Eggplant with Garlic sauce
Peking Duck
Dr.s Veggies (Yi San Choi)
Pot Stickers
Pearl River Hot Pot
Ginger Scallion Steamed fish
Yi San Special

| New York Deli News | Denver, CO | |
|
How can anyone claim this so called New York Deli as anything but
average is beyond me.
As a former New Yorker I found their invocation of New York a fraud!
If you think this is good Deli you need to travel more.

| Imperial Chinese Seafood Restaurant | Denver, CO | |
|
Based on the reviews here I decided to try this place out.
I can name half a dozen better Chinese Restaurants in the Denver
area without even needing to think about it.
Having lived in China and Hong Kong I found this place anything
but authentic.

| Tommy's Thai Restaurant | Denver, CO | |
|
I had not been here for a fairly long time but my recent visit was
an eye opener.
The decor has been vastly upgraded and is charming.
The food has stayed truly authentic Thai.
I first found this restaurant when I came back from living in Thaland
20 years ago.
This time I visited it having recently returned from Thailand
where I was a volunteer in the Tsunami Zone.
This is the best Krung Thep style Thai food in Denver.

| The Old Spaghetti Factory | Denver, CO | |
|
If your idea of good italian sauces come out of a bottle or can this
is youir ideal place to eat.
Ciò non è cuisine italiano. If you know anything about Italian
food, If you have ever eaten in a restaurant in New York Chicago
or San Francisco - or Roma, Palermo or Brolo, - this is a restaurant
to avoid. Ciò è un ristorante difettoso.
The other reviewers who gave this factory more than one star need
to get out more.

| Wo Hop Restaurant | New York, NY | |
|
If you are looking for an up scale restaurant with incredible
ambiance and a familiar menu of Egg Fu Young and Chow Mein look
elsewhere, but, if you are looking for a dining experience right
out of a back street in China Wo Hop (basement only)is for you.
I first had the pleasure of eating at Wo Hop over 36 yrs ago. At that
time the menu was in Chinese only they didn't have forks and I was
the only non-Chinese person in the place. Wo Hop was for many years
the best noodle house in NYC Chinatown.
I was pleased to find that after living in China and returning
to NYC recently to visit Wo Hop has not lost it's touch.
My 3am visit was a delightful experience. The Duck Chow Fun and
the Congee were worthy of a noodle house in Yau Ma Tai or MongKok.

| Kodama | New York, NY | |
|
Kodama is an adequate Sushi bar. (I must admit I am a bit of a snob
when it comes to sushi since it has been my favorite food for over
40 years. )
The food is good. The fish was fresh and the sushi-rice made correctly,
and, the staff is friendly but if you are looking for an authentic
Sushi Bar experience pass them by. The variety of fish was also
a bit limited.

| Vegetarian Paradise 3 | New York, NY | |
|
Vegetarian Paradise 3 makes the trip to Chinatown well worth
it.
The truly wonderful veggie meals I've had the pleasure of eating
there have been as good as any I've eaten in China or Taiwan. They
have a wide variety of entrees appetizers and some great deserts.
This small, contemporary, casual Chinese restaurant has a healthy
Vegan variety of sumptuous choices.

| Saigon Grill | New York, NY | |
|
Simple, clean, unpretentious and very authentic VietNamese
restaurant. Good food large potions and low prices combine with
a friendly staff to make this a very enjoyable casual dining experience.
If you like Vietnamese food you will not be disapointed.

| Kuleto's Restaurant | San Francisco, CA | |
|
Excellent food and good atmosphere whether you are having a business
breakfast or a quiet dinner for two. Definitely an upscale restaurant
for a any ocassion, lunch
business meeting, or just dining out on the town. The food was
well prepared and presented. The staff is friendly and accomodating.
The highlite of my dinner was the Creme Brule.

| Mediteranean Health Cafe | Denver, CO | |
|
This is a truly unique restaurant. The Med - as it affectionatly
called by it's clientel - is a Glatt Kosher , Vegitarian, Health
Food restaurant. The owners Ira and Terry have created a comfortable
little cafe. They take great care with the food they prepare and
it shows. Terry has created the best Veggie Burger I've ever eaten,
and, the rest of the food is also excellent. From the award winning
French Fries (best of Denver for years now) to the Portabelo Mushrooms
sandwich the food here is a treat even for us carnivores.

||
| Great Wall Chinese Restaurant | Rapid City, SD | |
|
If you are hoping for the quality of Chinese food one might find
in YauMaTai or TsimShaTsoi, Rapid City is not the place, BUT the
food at this restaurant was suprisingly good .
The cook was willing to make a version of LoHan Choi (Buddahs Delight
) for us even though it was not on the menue.

||
| Elms | Alliance, NE | |
|
This is a simple straight foward American Restaurant with a limited
menu. The breakfasts are well made if not incredibly imaginative.
The portions are hearty and the prices low, and, the waitress
was friendly.

| Jasmine Garden Restaurant | Tucson, AZ | |
|
This restaurant has one of the least authentic "Chinese" buffets
I have ever encountered. The food is badly prepared and greasy.
Having lived for a major part of my life in Hong Kong I can say that
this in no way resembles anything in HK but the most tourist oriented
of places.
If you want real Hong Kong Style Chinese food Tucson has better. |
