| The Corner Room | State College, PA | |
Excellent food, though the portions are rather small. The atmosphere
and service are excellent. Make sure you have a reservation,
consider some of their excellent wines, and wonderful desserts.

| Autoport Restaurant | State College, PA | |
Excellent food for the price - consider the lunch buffet and go
while you're hungry. There is also outside dining, though
it's a little close to the road. The steaks are great and the
service is excellent.

| Golden Wok Chinese Restaurant | State College, PA | |
One of the few real Chinese restaurants in the area - not just a
quick lunch buffet, but go in sit, talk to a waiter and get some
good food. Yes, it's somewhat run down, but if you want Chinese
food and it isn't lunch and you want a real meal, it's
a good place.
| Baby's Burgers & Shakes | State College, PA | |
The milk shakes are great - some of the best anywhere. The rest
of the food is greasy diner food, but if that's what you're
in the mood for, go for it. The atmosphere is cool once or twice
- after that it's a little annoying.
| Last Cowboy Restaurant | State College, PA | |
Decent food - a little bit of the country thing going on, but not
too much. Out of the way, so it's not just a college bar. A good
bar on it's own, and if you like to bowl, well, this is probably
the best bowling alley bar I've ever seen. Lot's of parking
too - that can be an issue with places up that way.

| Champs Sports Bar & Grill | State College, PA | |
Excellent sandwiches and a good atmosphere. Lots of TV's
for watching sports, good for the family, happy hour, game day,
or just a place to get some good food. If the weather is nice, the
deck is great (if you can pretend the road isn't nearby).
| Prospector's Restaurant & Lng | State College, PA | |
If you go - only go for the ribs - the rest of the food isn't very
good. The atmosphere is OK, parking is easy. Delivery? Forget
it - it's always cold. If you like ribs, or jus want to try a
new place, go for it.
| Freddie's II | Bethel Park, PA | |
It's OK for events, but not really where you'd want to
go for nice dinner out. Kind of dark and the food is hit or miss.
| Chick-Fil-A-Century III Mall | West Mifflin, PA | |
Chick-fil-A is Chick-fil-A - a good chicken sandwich or tenders
for a decent price. Not too greasy. Very good fries.
| Maggiano's | Mc Lean, District of Columbia | |
Excellent food and the portions are great. If you have a party
of 4 or more you can order Family style and sample sveral dishes
- it's definitely worth it. It can get crowded so make reservations
if you can - again, it's definitely worth it.

| Generous George's | Alexandria, VA | |
Nice atmosphere once or twice but boring after that. Parking
can be tough. Food is just so-so.
| Murphy's Grand Irish Pub | Alexandria, VA | |
The food is just average and it can get crowded, but the atmosphere
is great. Great place to get a drink especially when they're
doing the Irich songs - lots of fun, very popular.
| Pasta Peasant | Alexandria, VA | |
Very good pasta selections and lots of different menu choices.
A bit off the beaten path, and small, but worth the trip.
| Tubby's | Alexandria, VA | |
Kind of a greasy diner, but a decent place for lunch. It's
popular and grows on you.
| Southside 815 | Alexandria, VA | |
Very good if you like southern food. The menu items can be unusual,
so keep an open mind, everything is good. The bar is a good hangout
too. The area around the place is charming as well.
| 5 Guys Hamburgers | Springfield, VA | |
I've never had a good meal at one of these places - let me correct
that - it tastes good, but you're sorry 30 minutes later,
if not sooner after the poor service (seriously, fast food is
better). Very greasy, seems to just live off of it's reputation.
| Waffle Shop | State College, PA | |
The only place for a decent breakfast, be prepared to wait on the
weekends. Go for lunch, the specials are great! There is also
one on North Atherton and one on West College that aren't
as busy.
| Rathskeller All American | State College, PA | |
It's tradition - ya gotta go. Just make sure you don't
go in bright light or before you've had a couple somewhere
else. Seriously, after a few there, it doesn't seem so bad.
| The Brewery, Inc. | State College, PA | |
This is the best bar in town - yes, it's dive, but the music
is great and you can't beat the picnic tables - it's like
a German beer garden, except without german food or beer, but
definitely worth going if you plan on drinking your fill.
| Foxhole Sports Cafe | Arlington, VA | |
OK food for a quick lunch. If you live or work around there it's
good for a change of pace.
