| Old Saybrook Diner | Old Saybrook, CT | |
|
The diner is open 24 hours--the only place to go to eat in Old Saybrook
after 9 p.m.
The menu offers a lot of choices, and they will even make up special
things if you ask.
I recommend the hot open-faced turkey, and the big diner cookies
are the best.

| Pat's Kountry Kitchen | Old Saybrook, CT | |
|
Pat's is the best place to find good, wholesome and healthy food.
They have a lot of "Heart Healthy" menu choices including sugar
free deserts. Pat's is one of the only places I know of that will
serve skim milk.
The atmosphere is really quaint, with giant teddy bears likely
to share a table with you. You get a raffle ticket for every person
dining. You can drop the ticket off at the little gift shop across
the road for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate.

| Wine & Roses | Old Saybrook, CT | |
|
Wine and Roses is one of the most romantic places to eat in Old Saybrook.
The atmosphere is very friendly. Don't be surprised if the Deep
River Fife and Drum Corp decide to stop in out of a Main Street parade
to play for the patrons.
The service is really great, and the food is, too. My favorite
is the wild mushroom ravoilis.

| Dock & Dine | Old Saybrook, CT | |
|
This is a big tourist spot, so expect it to be very crowded in the
summer months. People literally dock their boats and hop on in.
The menu has mostly seafood choices, and the service can be unattentive,
even during slower times.
|
||
| Bee & Thistle Inn | Old Lyme, CT | |
|
The Bee & Thistle has frequently been voted the most Romantic
spot to dine. The menu choices are upscale, and offer choices
such as Duck and Salmon.
In the fall, it is fun to go for afternoon tea.
The restuarant is going through a change of owners that is expected
to take place in mid-July 2000.

| Duchess Family Restaurant | Milford, CT | |
|
This is a fast food resturant that is a little better than most.
Very quick service
|
||
| El Torero Mexican Restaurant | Milford, CT | |
|
This is one of my very favorite restuarants! The service is so
fast, you wonder how on earth they actually do it.
I recommend the Chicken Chimichangas and the Cheese Enchaladas.

| Tolli's A Pizza Restaurant | East Haven, CT | |
|
Here is your basic New Haven Pizza style pizza. It is pretty tasty
and the service is fairly quick.
Real garlic would have been a plus.
|
||
| Olympic Pizza Restaurant | East Lyme, CT | |
|
I recommend the fresh garlic pizza. We took one to the sub base
to watch the 4th of July fireworks once and the aroma blew away
anyone who was sitting next to us.
This pizza can be addicting.

| The Shack Restaurant | East Lyme, CT | |
|
I almost don't want to review this one, because there already
is a line for breakfast on the weekends. Believe me, waiting on
line is worth it, especially for the home fries.

| Fairfield Diner | Fairfield, CT | |
|
Pretty good diner fare. The hot open-faced turkey is good, and
so are the milk shakes.
|
||
| California Cafe Bar & Grill | King of Prussia, PA | |
|
You'll find some great soups, such as Potato soup, and entrees.
I recommend one of the salads.
The service is pretty good, too, and they will even make up your
order to go.

| Ruby's King of Prussia | King of Prussia, PA | |

Nice 50's atmosphere. There is a lot of neat stuff to look at while
you are waiting for your order.
I would recommend the chicken salad, it is very tasty. The milk
shakes are great, too.
The service is very friendly.

| Brew Moon Restauarnt Microbrew | King of Prussia, PA | |
|
The atmosphere is dark and futuristic. It is known for it's beer,
although I didn't have any when I went there.
The food sounds better on the menu that it actually is, but it isn't
bad.

||
| Friends & Co | Madison, CT | |
|
This place is generally very busy on the weekends, especially
Friday nights. You see a lot of office people who go there in a group
after work.
The food is pretty good, and you can get anything from a steak to
a burger.

| Happy House | Trumbull, CT | |
|
This Chinese resturant offers both sit down lunches and a buffet.
Rumor has it that they use MSG, and I know one friend, who is allergic,
got a serious headache after eating there one day.
The food is pretty tasty, though.
|
||
| Marie's Sandwich Shop | Trumbull, CT | |
|
This little sit down place isn't very big, but the food is worth
coming back for. It is a cross between a diner and a little cafe,
and there is often a very large lunch crowd.
Smoking is permitted, and there is really no where to hide from
it.

| Old Town Pizza Restaurant | Trumbull, CT | |
|
I would not recommend this place. I went there once and ordered
a turkey sandwhich. It was so big that I lifted up the bread to remove
some of the meat, only to find a live spider crawling around in
my sandwhich!
The waitress was unsympathetic, and they did not want to refund
the cost of the uneaten sandwhich at first.
