Higher Ground Calgary, AB
Almost always crowded, and it is easy to see why. Great coffees, a fireplace, internet access and wine by the glass.
Joey Tomatoes Kitchen Edmonton, AB
Consistently good Italian food / pasta, at a reasonable price, served by a friendly, attentive waitstaff. Sounds like a good combination for a quality chain restaurant, and it is.
Don Quijote Spanish Restaurant Calgary, AB
If you are looking for a "Latin" evening in Calgary, this is a very good place to start. Fine dining, live Latin bands and dancing make for a wonderful evening.
Gnocchi's Pasta House Calgary, AB
Much more than just pasta, not that the pasta isn't wonderful... Comfortable atmosphere serving more of a classic Italian cuisine, not just red sauce and pasta. And if you like gnocchi, you will want to come back again and again to taste the wide variey.
Hatam Kabob House Calgary, AB
If it can be kabobed, it's kabobed here. Along with some things you'd never think of kabobing. Fresh quality ingredients will make the kabobee appreciate the skill of the kabober.
Oh Canada Calgary, AB
Guess if you want to find out what "Canadian Cuisine" is all about, this is the place to go. Think of dishes your mom might cook, if she was a really good cook, and had been to chef school.
Red Carpet Steak House Calgary, AB
Interesting concept - three "different" restaurants under one roof. One upscale steakhouse, another is more of a casual atmosphere serving burgers and pizza, and a lounge that offers a "Manhattan style" influence. Not quite sure why someone would want to do this, but the food is pretty good.
Stromboli Inn Calgary, AB
This family run Italian restaurant has been a Calgary landmark for over 25 years, and for good reason. Everything is made from scratch, using fresh quality ingredients. Friendly waitstaff.
Sugo Caffe' Italia Calgary, AB
There aren't many fine Italian restaurants that serve water-buffalo, and there are even less that actually manage to pull it off!! A continually changing menu means you must go back every so often to see what's new and delectable. It's a tough job.......................
Grizzly Paw Pub & Brewing Co Canmore, AB
Great tasting micro-brews served in a very good restaurant. Could it possibly get any better? Well, there's this cool deck with one helluva view....
Phil's Restaurants Calgary, AB
Nothing fancy here, just very good "family type" food. Started out as a pancake house, and evolved into breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you do shift work and want breakfast at 2PM, or dinner at 8AM, this is your place,
Bistro Jo Jo Calgary, AB
Have never been to France, but this would be how I'd picture. Small intimate restaurant with tile flooring. Features well made light Provencal dishes and deserts.
Fleur De Sel Calgary, AB
French cuisine in a brasserie setting with both traditional and nouveau. Good selection, nice presentation, great taste. For a visitor, always good to see a lot of locals.
Rouge Calgary, AB
Fine French dining in an historic Inglewood home. Quality ingredients, some home grown, good variety of well prepared dishes, impressive presentation and superb service. Did I miss anything?
Bentley's Calgary, AB
Upscale, yet casual dining that is actually kid friendly! Asian fusion AND area favorites.
Open Sesame Calgary, AB
Cozy restaurant serving a blend of Asian cuisines located below the Smuggler's steak house. You can also make your own stir fry. If you like just about any type of Asian food, you should find something here you can really enjoy.
Passion Calgary, AB
A "tweaked" Vietnamese style of food served by a friendly staff. Very good wine selection.
Heidelberg Haus Calgary, AB
Just the location says a lot about the club - inside the German Canadian Club! It had better be good with its location, and it is.
Cafe Metro Calgary, AB
Several whimsical murals set the tone of this cafe. Think of a good deli that happens to also serve pizzas and burgers served by a friendly staff.
Big Rock Grill Calgary, AB
Nine house brews on tap to choose from, rotisserie dishes with lighter European fare. Friendly staff. It is a brewpub, so if you don't like the aroma of beer being brewed, better pass by, otherwise a good choice.
