Pallotta"s Italian Grill Conroe, TX
This restaurant is in the Woodridge Shopping Center. They also offer lower calorie fare, and show Weight Watcher points. Very good food, and have always enjoyed it. The acoustics are very bad however, and it can get very noisy quickly.
Brio Tuscan Grille Spring, TX
The address is actually in The Woodlands; directly by the Woodlands Mall, along with a host of other restaurants. I have never been disappointed with the food or service. There's also a nice bar area to people watch. The restaruant is very open, so it can get a bit noisy. There's a nice outdoor patio dining area, and a separate outdoor sitting area to have drinks. I've personally never had the brunch here, but have heard from others it is a wonderful dining experience.
Capri Italian Restaurant Spring, TX
I've never been here for dinner yet, only lunch. They make much of their own pasta, and it is delicious. I had the lasagna and really enjoyed it. It wasn't smothered in cheese, where you can't taste anything else. Very fresh and clean tasting. It's a small restaurant, located in a strip mall beside a tire place. I had a hard time finding it when someone told me about it. Bring your own wine, at least at this point.
Raoul's Italian Grill Spring, TX
I've improved my rating on this restaurant. I've been back a few more times, and the food has been very good. I didn't care for the pizza. I felt the vegetables weren't cooked enough for my liking. I had the Osso Buco and Lobster Ravioli the last two times I went. They were both prepared in a brandy cream sauce that was extremely rich but impeccable.
Tolbert's Restaurant Grapevine, TX
This is a traditional restaurant. Frank Tolbert was responsible for the start of the chili cook off in 1967. This town is packed for the Christmas festival, and that's when we went. The food cooking inside the restaurant smelled terrific so we went in. The food is average, but they have live bands six days a week later in the evening, so you can enjoy a meal earlier with the kids. The frito pie chili was average, as well as the ribeye my husband ordered. I tried a cup of the poblano soup; and it was all right.
Gringo's Mexican Kitchen Spring, TX
I thought the food would be better, but it's very average. Not worth the money to me. I won't go back.
Golden China Spring, TX
We ordered the food and had it delivered. I've never been to the restaurant as of yet. The Crab Rangoon was okay. The Singapore Mei Fun was good, as well as the House Special Egg Foo Yung, Hunan Beef, the Hot and Spicy Triple Delight. The vegetable fried rice was okay. The brown sauce for the Egg Foo Yung was very salty, so I'm glad it was served separately. I'll give this another try.
Ralph & Kacoo's Bossier City, LA
This is a chain restaurant and was recommended to us. We were very disappointed. The blackened alligator bites were so heavily spiced with a custom 16 or 26 spice combination I couldn't tell what kind of meat I was eating. The Hollandaise sauce it was served with was very good. I didn't care for the shrimp stew either. Since we were so disappointed with the appetizers, we decided to forgo dinner. The restaurant was very crowded and apparently it's a very popular restaurant; but we won't go back.
Raoul's Italian Grill Spring, TX
I've been to this restaurant about six times. The first two times I wasn't impressed, but since then I have found the food excellent. The Osso Buco and lobster and shrimp ravioli were fantastic. The food is European cuisine, and tends to be very rich. Large servings and I take home a lot and make two or three meals out of dinner. I didn't care for their pizza. The vegetables aren't cooked enough for my liking, but I see people ordering pizza a lot. The bread basket is very good. After dinner we sat at the bar, where they had a jazz trio playing piano, drums, and saxophone. Not very loud and was very enjoyable.
Kenny & Ziggy's Deli Houston, TX
New York style deli, somewhat expensive but worth the price. Huge portions and you'll have leftovers. The hot pastrami and hot corned beef sandwiches are fabulous. I had the cold tounge sandwich for lunch. I recommend having the sandwiches warmed, so the flavors come out more, rather than eating the cold sandwiches. Great pickles. They also cater. The coffee was fabulous also. We were too full to eat any dessert, but we'll definitely go back and try lots of their items. The menu is huge. You could eat there every day for over a month and never order the same thing.
Perry's Steakhouse and Grille Houston, TX
Based on the prices of the entrees and decor, I expected perfection and was sorely disappointed. The fried lobster bites and broiled lobster were both overcooked. The steak was average. The escargot was good and rich. I think your best bet is going during Happy Hour, with the half price appetizers. The Ahi and other items sound very good and I intend to try them.
El Corral Houston, TX
Of the foods we ordered, the only item that had any taste was the shrimp cocktail. The fried shrimp with cheese and jalapeno appetizer, the fried avacado filled with beef, cheese enchilda was all tasteless.
Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill Oklahoma City, OK
The food we ordered was so-so. My husband had the fried balogna sandwich. The balogna was too thick. I had the chicken sandwich which wasn't very good. If we go back, we'll try the steaks. I like the fact they offer a one time free burger, fries and drink to an American soldier with ID. Between the bar and restaurant section, they have actual lighted padded tailgates to sit on, complete with lights from different pick up trucks. Nice bar with TV's to watch sports, and one TV set up with Toby Keith's songs and videos. Great place to entertain out of town guests and if you like Toby Keith.
Bourbon Street Cafe Oklahoma City, OK
We stopped for a late lunch after taking the river taxi. Sitting on the patio is a nice place to people watch and enjoy the water. The oysters on the half shell were fresh, not gritty, but not loosened in their shells. Horseradish was the mildest I've ever had The lobster bisque soup was a bit disappointing. The Jazmos Voodoo Punch or the Long Island ice tea weren't very good. You couldn't even taste any alcohol. One of the women at the next table mentioned she couldn't taste her drink either. Our waiter was either new or completely out of it.
Classen Grill Oklahoma City, OK
We noticed the place was packed with cars, so we thought we'd try it. Our waitress was overworked with customers and it was hard to get her attention. We've definitely had better fare. I think it's a nostalgic place for many people. They make their own fresh squeezed orange juice with a really neat visible machine.
Jimmy's Egg Oklahoma City, OK
Http://jimmysegg.com/ Good breakfast place. They make their own homemade white toast, which is very thick. I had the Popeye's Revenge 3 egg omelette with spinach, bacon, mushrooms and monterey jack cheese. Home fries were good too.
Y. O. Ranch Steakhouse Dallas, TX
Http://www.yoranchsteakhouse.com/home.html Excellent service, meal and wine. Alfredo was our server and was very professional and nice, not stuffy. I had a glass of the 2008 Mutua Pinot Noir, and really enjoyed it. We had the quail appetizer, and ordered the mixed grill, elk chops, filet mignon, french fries, mashed potatoes, and Caesar salad. The spicy quail appetizer is served over wild rice in a port plum sauce. The wild rice has some wasabi in it. The mixed grill changes daily. When I ordered it, it consisted of quail, venison, and bison. The venison was served with a sauce of some type, which didn't appeal to me, although the meats themselves were very good. The elk chop was very good, but was served with a blueberry cognac demi glaze which none of us cared for. I suggest ordering their sauces on the side. My teenage daughter didn't care for the filet too much, but liked the french fries which were home made. I didn't care for the fries, but the smoked mashed potatoes were fabulous. As in most fine dining restaurants any sides are ala carte. Two meals came with 3 small carrots and string beans. Most places just flash fry the beans so they're still tough and raw. They were cooked to perfection here, slightly firm but done.
Gators Croc N Roc Dallas, TX
Nothing on the menu really appealed to us at the time, so we just had drinks. We ordered the Lethal, Blue Coco Rita which is half Blue Hawaii and half Margarita, as well as a regular Margarita. The drinks were much too sweet and we couldn't drink them. Our server was Katie, and she was extremely friendly and pleasant. They have an upstairs rooftop patio open now. Nothing fancy and don't sit too close to the cooking vent or you'll be smoked out. This is a good place to go to have fun and watch sports on their televisions.
The Metro Wine Bar & Bistro Oklahoma City, OK
It was late in the evening when we stopped here. We weren't in the mood for the entrees and wanted something smaller; so we ordered an appetizer, 4 wine flights, and 3 soups. They offer 1 oz and 2 oz flights to try. How often have you gone to a restaurant and ordered a full glass of wine, only to not like it and then are stuck with it? We tried 4 different flights of 3 glasses each. Very enjoyable and our server, Trevar, was very knowledgeable. We ordered the house smoked salmon with toast points appetizer. It was served with stone ground mustard, capers, tomatoes, and onions to put onto the toast. Very good! We also ordered a bowl of french onion soup to share, a cup of tomato basil soup and a cup of Vichyssoise(potato leek soup). The potato leek soup is served cold but the flavors didn't come out served like this. I wasn't going to eat it, but Trevar suggested we have it warmed up and try it. We were able to taste the flavors much better when the soup was warmed. The next time we're in Oklahoma City; you can be sure we will come back here and try a couple of entrees.
Tokyo One Houston, TX
The buffet is about $22 per person, so be hungry. Very nice variety. Soups were very good, and miso soup is available but not in the buffet. Nice variety of sashimi and sushi. I liked the fact the rice in the sushi rolls was not ice cold as in some buffets. This buffet is worth the money and I will go back. Drinks were good, and the staff was attentive but not overbearing.
