I just loved this place. It is snuggled in the Hollywood/Highland Center
next to the Chinese Mann Theatre. The atmosphere was unique but welcoming.
I had lunch there and ordered the fish and chips. Well... this was the
BEST fish and chips I have EVER HAD! Enjoy this gem!

| Margaritas | Salem, NH | |
|
I enjoyed the festive atmosphere and friendly waitstaff. Unfortunately,
the food wasn't that great. I got the taco salad and rasperry margarita.
The salad ended up getting me sick for two days and the margarita had
a weird flavored sugar around the rim that was not good. Sometimes,
less is more...

| Engine House Restaurant | Salem, MA | |
|
Engine House is a local favorite. We often order pizza for delivery
but have learned to pick up the pizza. The delivery will take forever
to get to you (and we live right around the corner). Good pizza... a little
greasy for my taste.

| Stromberg's | Salem, MA | |
|
YUM YUM YUM! If you like seafood then this is the place for you! My favorite
is the Fisherman's Platter. There have been recent renovations
and the place is looking good! Live music is available on Fridays and
Saturdays!
With the waterfront views and lovely ocean breeze, Stromberg's
is sure to please!

| Thai Place Restaurant | Salem, MA | |
|
This is a little hidden jewel I found when I first moved to Salem 6 years
ago. It is in the Museum Place mall next to the movie theater. I absolutely
LOVE the Pad Thai. Whenever my man is away and I have to get dinner for
myself... I ALWAYS go to Thai Place. It is nothing to look at... but the
food is just great!

| Stacia's Place | Salem, MA | |
|
This sub shop is run by one of the nicest ladies I have ever met! She makes
fantastic subs and always has a new type of sub to offer on the specials
board. I am hooked on the turkey club sub. Delicious!

| Maria's Place | Salem, MA | |
|
Cheap and good. That is the best way to describe this little hole in the
wall. We have gone to Maria's every Sunday for breakfast for years.
The wait and cook staff are so nice. We love to sit at the counter and watch
the cooks.

| Flatbread Co | Amesbury, MA | |
|
This is a fairly new restaurant located in the "Millyard".
The buidling used to be an old factory that has since been renovated.
Flatbread Co has an open fire pit so you can see your pizza baking
as you sit at the table. The atmosphere is casual and I would suggest
calling ahead for a table. The menu is pretty much just pizza and
salads so if you are looking for variety, this is not the place
but the pizza is outstanding and worth every dime. My favorite
is the "Amesbury Community Flatbread".

| Bergamos | Orlando, FL | |
|
I was referred to this restaurant by the consierge at my hotel.
The menu is Italian and fine wines. The food and wine were great
but the best part was the singing waiters/waitresses. At the
top of every hour the staff sing several show tunes with the assistance
of a pianist. I was just astounded by the talent of these people
and I would definitely go back.

| Tuscany's Ristorante | Orlando, FL | |
|
This restaurant is located in the World Marriot Hotel. I had the
fortune of staying at the World Marriot and this facility has
ten restaurants! One of the highlights was this fabulous Italian
restaurant. The food and wine were very pricey but worth every
dime. I ate at the bar and from this spot you can see the lobby with
the comings and goings of all the guests. Very friendly staff
too!

| The Barn Pub & Grille | Amesbury, MA | |
|
I do love this place because it is convenient and you can play Keno.
The food is not great. It is average and the cook can't seem
to understand that customers don't want their entree right
after they get their appetizers. The bartenders and waitstaff
are very pleasant and they welcome visitors.

| China Jade Rear | Beverly, MA | |
|
I usually go here for lunch. The crab rangoons are hand-made and
delicious! Everything that I have ordered has been good.
The staff is always friendly and the prices are reasonable.
The location is great because it is just off 128, toward Wenham.

| Bahia Cabana Beach Resort | Fort Lauderdale, FL | |
|
I absolutely loved this place! We came across it by accident because
it doesn't look like much from the outside (it is part of the
Days Inn). After we had dinner here once we went back three more
times!
The view to the harbor and the yachts is outstanding! We had filet
mignons (delicious) and drinks one night and had so much fun.
The people who work here are fabulous, especially Gayle from
Southie Boston! She looks and acts like Roseanne Barr!
There is also live music occasionally. Loads of fun!

| Pusser's At the Beach | Fort Lauderdale, FL | |
|
We were referred to this place by our hotel. It is in a great location
overlooking Fort Lauderdale Beach. You can sit outside or inside.
We ate here for lunch and dinner and had exceptional service by
the bartenders each time. The food was good and their infamous
drink the "Pusser Painkiller" will satisfy (beware
this drink has bitters in it - so order it without if you do not like
them).
The portions are big and the prices are good, especially at happy
hour.
Occasional entertainment outside.

| Sidelines Sportsbar & Grill | Salem, MA | |
|
Sidelines is a local bar with televisions everywhere! They have
Keno and video golf. The owner Vickie is very personable and is
often on the premises.
The food could use some improvement. The best bet is the salad
or the pizza. There are specials every day of the week such as:
30 cent wings, bucket of beer and a pizza for $13.00, etc.
This spot is popular among Salem State students (mostly on Friday
and Saturday nights).
|
||
| Salem Beer Works | Salem, MA | |
|
This is a great place to meet with friends. It is a open atmosphere
similar to Bertucci's. The food is always good and the beers
are outstanding. All beers are made on the premises. Try the Blueberry
Ale!
The sandwiches on the lunch menu are also very good. Panini's
are the best.
There is also a pool table and dart board.

| Reubens Place | Naples, FL | |
|
This restaurant is in a strip mall near the Movie Theatre. We came
across it by accident and I am so glad we did! The service was outstanding
and the food was even better. They specialize in Pastrami &
Corned beef sandwiches but they have an extensive menu with burgers,
etc. The meat is cut right in front of you and is so, so fresh. I can't
say enough about this place!
Best bet: 1/2 corned beef sandwich, with their soup of the day,
Excellent stuff!

| Fantasy Island | Salem, MA | |
|
A community favorite. The fantasteaks are very popular but everything
is good here. The bar atmosphere is good but the decor could use
some updating and improvement.
|
||
| Christina's Pizza | Salem, MA | |
|
This is a local pizza joint with many different selections. Unfortunately
their subs are not so great and the staff is not very friendly.
I have had trouble many times with the quality of the subs, it's
just not fresh.
The best bet to order is the manicotti or lasagna dinners. They
come with garlic bread.
|
||
| Brothers Restaurant & Deli | Salem, MA | |
|
This place is great. The food is fresh and made to order. They have
a cafeteria type atmosphere (with trays, etc) and the food comes
quick and is ALWAYS fresh. Breakfast is very popular on the weekends
so get there early!
It is a family owned business and the staff is very friendly.
A local favorite!
