21 Club New York, NY
I dined here with some colleagues at the end of a short business trip to New York and it was just a delight, from the moment we arrived it was like being welcomed to a friend's comfortable and stylish town house right in the middle of Manhattan. We had drinks in the lounge bar at the seats where George Clooney and Michele Pfeiffer played out a scene in 'One Fine Day' - it was great only no Michele that night! The food was just sublime - I had the tuna tartare and the veal escalopes which were perfect and the business over dinner went with a real swing due to the ambience and style of '21'. We did a great deal and now always use '21' when we're in NYC.
Number One Son Noodle Shop New York, NY
This is a great place, whether alone, with a loved one or for a private party. The food is delicious and I'm excited to try something new each week from the menu. The staff are courteous and friendly and I never feel rushed for a meal. If you don't try this at least once, you truly are missing out on one of the city's best restaurants
Angelo & Maxies Steakhouse New York, NY
First off, I say $30 to $40 per person because, like any good steak house, everything here is a la carte. I had a filet mignon, cooked to perfection, which was around $26.00 the sides are pricey too, and by the time you add a drink you are up to about $40 per person and that's not including dessert. It was quite good and we'd go back if ever in NYC again.
Morton's of Chicago-Steakhouse New York, NY
An excellent steakhouse. Being a franchise, it's experience is somewhat diluted (they have a steakhouse in several large cities including Washington D.C., New Orleans, Las Vegas, and others). Steak is not on par with Peter Lugers, Sparks or Del Frisco's but is very good, and they have an excellent wine list. For fun, try their huge lobsters - you definitely attract attention when you order a 5 lb lobster at a steakhouse!
Salaam Bombay Indian Cuisine New York, NY
I loved this place. The atmosphere was quiet and elegant. Food was served in classic dishes. The food was outstanding. My favorite was the Chicken Tikka Masala. The bread was wonderful and fresh as well as the acompaniments to the meal. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that truly knows good, classic Indian food.
Sparks Steak House New York, NY
One of the best steakhouses in the city (maybe even better than Peter Luger's!, and certainly more accesible). It is the place where the city's power brokers come to relax, definitely a clubby feel to it! The decor is traditional steakhouse, but wide and expansive, the waiters are incredible and the steaks are just perfect. Try the portherhouse, you won't be disappointed. And the wine list is incredible as well, and very reasonably priced! A true NYC steakhouse experience!
Curry In A Hurry New York, NY
I love, love, love Indian food. An east indian friend of mine took me to what he considered to be a perfect Indian meal---at three different places. For desert, after diner at the Jackson Heights diner (yes, it's an Indian restaurant in Jackson Heights) off we went to Curry in a Hurry which he considers the best for Indian sweets (or desserts). And they were!
Barney Greengrass New York, NY
The best bagel with cream cheese and nova anywhere. This is an upper west side institution! For a great, classic, New York City brunch, this is the place. Be prepared for a long wait on weekends and no decor. Also, the prices may seem high for the type of food, but it is well worth it.
Sam Won Garden Restaurant Corp New York, NY
Great food, good amount to choose from. You don't have to worry about picking a bad dish, there is no bad dish. Good service, my drink was always filled.
Tse Yang Restaurant New York, NY
The square dining room is cluttered and dowdy, but the open, bustling kitchen and whole roasted meats will draw your attention. The food is very decent, with cold roast duck, rice soup (congee) with a combination of beef, squid and pork, roast pork wonton with noodles, young chow fried rice, and fried beef chow fun. The prices are low with most of the fare priced under $2 during the day. Big Wong is a restaurant that offers guests Cantonese.
Vegetarian Paradise 3 New York, NY
A good place to good for great food and a warm astmosphere.I like to be comfortable when I go out to eat, so I look for a place that makes me feel like I must stop and eat here...this place is just like that....food is wonderful, wait staff great! You must try!
Mc Gillicuddy's Irish Inn New Hyde Park, NY
This is one of the best restaurants we have seen in a long time. While dining you feel like your sitting in your own living room. Crab cake appetizers were the best . Emerald Isle (surf and turf) done to perfection. Don't miss this one...
Candy Apple Cafe Akron, NY
EXCELLENT place to eat. Food is VERY FINE and the service is great. Never had or even heard of a complaint. They even have a "Smokers Room" in the rear of the restaurant(I don't smoke). I would HIGHLY recommend "Candy Apple Cafe" to anyone. (Just wished I lived closer so that I could go there more often)
Oakhurst Tea Room Somerset, PA
There are certain restaurants that stand the test of time. This is one of them. Fantastic food, and fantastic service. My mother says it's been there as long as she can remember. If you don't believe it go into the one dining room and look at the old photos of big band entertainers who performed there. On my next trip to Somerset, I will be going back, as the buffet is worth every penny
Hot Licks Homemade Ice Cream Fairbanks, AK
To this day, my wife and I recall Hot Licks as one of the best places anywhere to get ice cream. All their ice cream is home made and has all the fat and calories missing from store-bought frozen desserts (along with the taste). My wife's favorite is the cinnamon ice cream. The only down-side is that the shop is located near the University, so it gets crowded in the evenings with all the students preferring it as a hang-out. Heartily recommended!
