| Penny's Noodle Shop | Chicago, IL | |
|
The original, the best. This place taught me about noodle shops.
The prices are outstanding, the food is wonderful. They get you
your food very quickly as well. I wish they had more seating, but
otherwise it is great.

| Heaven On Seven Or the Garland Cafe | Chicago, IL | |
|
THE BEST cajun food in the country, even compared with places
in Louisiana!
The collection of hot sauces will boggle your mind.
I recommend choosing the menu item which lets the chef choose
a seven-course meal for you. It is awesome and always different.
He even comes out to talk to you about it, and serves some of the
courses.
Run, don't walk, to this place, it is truly heavenly!!!

| REDFISH | Chicago, IL | |
|
Mediocre at best! This places is overrated, overpriced and not
all that great. I love the atomosphere, but the food is not worth
the effort.

| Wishbone | Chicago, IL | |
|
Good spot for good food and simple menu items. I have tried it all
here and really think it is a good place to go.

| Soul Kitchen | Chicago, IL | |
|
I wouldn't exactly call this a Cajun restaurant, but whatever
it is, it is very good. The different types of foods and combinations
of ingredients make this place stand-out! In a city where you
can get a bit overwhelmed by the number of dining choices, this
one stands out as tryly unique. The service is also excellent.

| Parthenon | Chicago, IL | |
|
Best Greek food in Chicago! This place is teeming with atmosphere
and great food. The portions are all "Chicago-size"
and wonderful in flavor. You MUST get the Saginaki (flaming cheese)
it is not only wonderful to eat, it is a ball to watch being prepared.

| Pizzeria Due | Chicago, IL | |
|
This is the best Chicago-style pizza in the world! Prepare fora
meal. Share a salad if you can, because the house vinegar and oil
dressing is great. I have tried Chicago pizza all over Chicago,
and all over the world, and never had any better. You can't
eat it all the time, but when you do, it is great. I have even had
it shipped to me when living in other cities!

| Reza's Restaurant | Chicago, IL | |
|
Excellent place to try different types of Mediterranean-influenced
foods.
The menu is huge with lots of choices, and the wait-staff is very
helpful in "translating" descriptions.
It is a large open place, so you rarely have to wait for a table.
Great for carry-out too.

| Bagel Restaurant & Deli The | Skokie, IL | |
|
The best deli in the Chicago metropolitan area. The Mish-Mosh
soup is unbelievable and is a meal in itself.
The sandwiches are all huge and all with quality and tasty ingredients.
Just wonderful.

||
| Cheesecake Factory | Skokie, IL | |
|
I don't know how they have such a large menu (pretty much anything
you can think of!) and still make it all taste so good! The portions
are very big, so consider splitting items. My favorite appetizer
is the Avacado Egg Rools! They are wonderful. I have been there
many, many times and still haven't had any cheesecake. Who
needs it, the food is fantastic!

||
| Maggiano's Little Italy | Skokie, IL | |
|
Great, great, great. I like this place so much, that now when I
am travelling to other cities and I see they have one, I go there
instead of local spots!
The portions are huge, so defintely share the large dishes. The wait can be long, but they take reservations. No matter, it is worth the wait!

| Davis Street Fishmarket | Evanston, IL | |
|
Best fresh seafood on the North Shore of Chicago! They have wonderful
specials, some of the best soups and chowders I have ever had (try
the lobster bisque) and a fun, casual atomosphere.
|
||
| Merle's Barbecue | Evanston, IL | |
|
The food si all good. To me the best thing on the menu are the dry-rub
beef ribs. Best beef ribs (which are not always easy to find) in
Chicago. Lots of meat, great seasoning and wonderful sauces
to accompany them.
The portions are big, the atomosphere is fun. I am originally
from the South, and they do it right!

||
| Pete Miller's Steakhouse | Evanston, IL | |
|
This is my favorite place to be in Evanston! The surroundings
make you feel as though you are in the middle of an incredible New
England or New York hotel. The food is all perfect. Best lobster
bisque I have ever had, and the Ceasar salad is surpurb.
The best part about the place is the live jazz every night. They
are also open late, as well as attached to a nice pool room for when
the musicians take a break. Just wonderful!

||
| Tommy Nevin's Pub | Evanston, IL | |
|
Best place to have pint of Guiness and meet people, especially
Northwestern students, in Evanston.
Great fish and chips!
|
||
| Trio | Evanston, IL | |
|
I believe Trio is the most romantic place in all of Chicago. The
surroundings are understaed and elegant.
The staff cater to your every need, and are extremely attentive.
The food is so flavorful it is like trying food for the first time!
The presentation is equal to the food quality and flavor.
Not cheap, but worth splurging every once in a while.
|
||
| Max & Benny's | Northbrook, IL | |
|
Best Jewish Deli in Chicago. The sandwiches make you feel like
your are in lower Manhattan. The service is very fast.
Take out food is just as good and easy.
Everything about this place is great.
|
||
| Hackney's | Glenview, IL | |
|
Best burger on the North-Shore! They serve the burger on dark-rye
bread. Get it with the grilled onions! Also, you must try the onion-stack.
They are incredible. A half-order is plenty.
|
||
| Joe and Guisseppi | Glenview, IL | |
|
Good, simple quality Italian food. I recommend the calimari,
very nice, not too heavily fried. Also the tiramasu is wonderful.
Everything here is good.
|
||
| Als No 1 Italian Beef | Chicago, IL | |
|
There is no better place in Chicago to get Italian beef. Others
make it good, but Al's is the best. Make sure you get it "sweet"
and "wet."
