| La Toque | Rutherford, CA | |
|
Well, we were a little disappointed. First of all, the food was really
good. No complaints there. La Toque failed to have a great quality dish.
Nothing stood out. Perhaps expectations were too high after eating
at Buchon and Gary Danko, but a very nice, but forgettable meal was served.

| Mustards | Yountville, CA | |
|
We enjoyed dinner at Mustard's. The grilled quail was wonderful.
The calamari first course was very good, but had far too much cabbage.
The taste of all the food was excellent. Very crowded and noisy.

| Gary Danko | San Francisco, CA | |
|
A special dining experience. I ordered the 3 course, and my wife had
the 4. We split the cheese plate. The stuffed quail was out of this world.
The service was the best anywhere. It will hard to top this place.

| Abuello's Mexican Embassy | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
We like this place. We were impressed with the chile con quesa. We ordered
the chile relleno lunch and finished everything. Like the prior reveiwer,
we found this to be excellent Tex-Mex fare.

| Poggio | Sausalito, CA | |
|
We had dinner at Poggio's the other night. It truly was a great experience. We shared a salad appetizer, and ordered sole. The fish was done perfectly. We each had sorbet for dessert. The wine list is expensive, but it is large enough that you can find something
in your price range. We're going back in about a month.

| Casa De Castillo | Waco, TX | |
|
A wonderful eatery with great service. I usually have the jumbo margarita
and a #9 which features three different entrees. Highly recommended.
A group of three can eat for $40 or less.

| Crockett's Smokehouse | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
Everything at Crockett's BBQ is first-rate. Wonderful sauce
with either brisket or polish sausage is my favorite. It's the place barbecue
in OKC.

||
| Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
Many okies absolutely love this place. The funny thing is that each
of them have a different favorite burger. The burgers all have great
sauces. The line is usually long to eat there or take out. Highly recommended
as burgers go.

| EDDY'S STEAKHOUSE | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
The steaks are average at Eddy's. The service is top notch. I didn't
care for the dark interior, but that's just my personal preference.
You had better be very hungry because the portions are generous for
both the meals and desserts.

| Henry Hudson's Grill | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
This is essentially a bar for the younger folks. It has a bustling night
scene. The food varies considerably. The best bet is go for the burgers.

| Uncle Dan's Bbq & Catering | Waco, TX | |
|
We always hit Dan's when we visit Waco. I recommend the brisket
and sausage. The potato salad and trimmings are always consistent
and tasty. They run a huge take out business. Recommended.

||
| On the Border Mexican Cafe | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
This busy eatery has average Tex-Mex food. The one outstanding feature
is the margaritas. Their mix is outstanding. We have no plans to return
because Ted's is much more consistent.

||
| Redd | Yountville, CA | |
|
Redd is a wonderful restaurant in Napa. Located on the main thoroughfare in Yountville, it is rarely crowded for lunch. We recommend the chef's tasting menu-5 courses for $70. Wine pairings
for each course is additional $30. Excellent food and service. We are
returning next month.

| A 16 | San Francisco, CA | |
|
We took lunch here the other day and were very impressed. Their advertised meatballs were as good as they come. An expensive
wine list, but worth it. I recommend lunch as the noisy crowd at dinner
can really diminish the experience. We will return.

| City Bites Subs | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
Look, this is first and foremost, a sandwich place. A usual meal is a
sandwich and chips-nothing fancy. Having said that, it has been the
most consistent eatery for us for years. I think there is a little too
much bread and lettuce on the Californian sandwich, but that's
going to vary with which youngster is making it. All in all, a decent
quick meal.

||
| Pepperoni Grill | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
This is a very nice place for lunch. Located at the entrance of a bustling
shopping mall, it usally has a waiting line at noon. The italian bread
and oil/vinegar is wonderful. I can recommend any of the pasta dishes.
Service is usually good, but can be a problem when the place is packed.

||
| Lido Restaurant | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
This place's rating really depends on whether one loves vietnamese
food. As for me, I find some dishes great, while others are just starchy
rice-heavy. I have eaten here several times, but have no plans to return.
To be completely fair, my Vietnamese tailor swears this is the best
food in OKC. So, it really is a matter of preference.

||
| Jimmy's Egg Restaurant | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
This is a very nice breakfast place when you are really hungry. Now,
I am not sure how healthy all those eggs, biscuits and bacon are, but,
man, they are really good. My favorite is the cream gravy over homemade
biscuits. I love this place, but I can't eat there that often.
|
||
| Bravo | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
As the review below indicates, this is a very nice italian franchise
in OKC. We have eaten there several times, and enjoyed every dish. Try
any of the pizzas, especially the sicilian. The wine list is brief,
and a little high, but the atmosphere is worth it. Very generous portions!

||
| Metro Wine Bar & Bistro | Oklahoma City, OK | |
|
WE had lunch there today for the third time this year. The meal began
with a great salmon appetitizer. My wife had the scallops and shrimp
in a risotto. I had the crabcakes. Both dishes were heavenly. The consistently
interesting thing about the Metro is the very generous portion you
are served. Excellent choice in OKC.
