I don't know where the person who made the comments immediately prior to my review ate at but it sure wasn't the Silk Road Cafe at 341 Danforth Ave. First of all, it isn't a deli ... they serve Chinese food. Secondly, it is not near any industrial parks. Food and decor both have been improved, especially since they had the help of "Restaurant Makeover".

Not my favourite sub shop as far as the sub franchises go but certainly more than ok if my fave isn't around. I like many of their new products and this is a good place if you want/need to be health conscious. You can also find great deals on certain items. Certainly a good place for a bite to eat.

This place is excellent! Great food, fair prices and portions that don't make me walk away still hungry (and I can eat!). When I go here next I'll make sure I have lots of money and a huge appetite because I have only 1 problem at this place, trying to decide what to order. Next time it'll be an assortment to feast on!

One of few restaurants anywhere in the province that I literally would not go if the food was free. Don't know how they stay in business.

This is not a fast food joint so don't be in a hurry because they are a bit slow but it's certainly worth the wait. Very good selection, excellent service and great portions (this coming from someone who eats LOTS). Of particular note, their turkey dinner will not only fill you up but it's delicious! On rare occassions when I'm in this city and get to stop by here I only have 1 problem ... trying to decide what I want to have. They also have a great turkey dinner special for xmas and I'm not sure but, perhaps at thanksgiving as well. They tend to be very busy for the xmas dinner so you might want to make a reservation. Doesn't look like much from the outside but I highly recommend this jewel of a restaurant!

My favourite sub shop in Toronto. Excellent quality, fast service (even when very busy), decent prices and very tasty food.

You usually can't go wrong with this franchise and this particular one is no exception. Love the food, reasonable prices, friendly service and the best part ... extra, VERY sour dill pickle slices on the burger ... done "my" way.

To put it plain and simply ... I have NOTHING good to say about this place.

EXCELLENT portions here! If you have a huge appetite like me, you won't be disappointed.

Not where I go for Chinese food anymore as The Bamboo is FAR better (they have the best Chinese food I've ever had from anywhere). But, if you're in this part of the city at least it's edible which is more than what I can say about many other restaurants of different types in this city.

Didn't enjoy this place very much. Far too crowded when I went there and also it seems to be only for 1 type of crowd. Too stuck up for my taste and over priced at that!

THE BEST chicken EVER!!!!! Need I say more? Highly recommend this place.

Only had their food once but was I impressed. I am the type that can eat! Most places, after having the entree, I'm thinking ... "Ok, that was the appetizer now where's the entree?". Not the case here as I was pleasantly surprised to find out. Extremely good tasting and high quality food that is totally worth paying the bit extra for. They have made quite the name for themself for very good reason. I heard about this place through word of mouth and the person who told me of it did rave about it. I usually don't listen to other people's opinions about restaurants because I have been disappointed almost without fail in the past but NOT this time! I highly recommend this place.

Great food and portions, reasonable prices and excellent service. Can be extremely busy on weekends for good reason. I love the food here and I just wish there was a restaurant that came close to this one near where I live now. The closest city to me now is Peterborough where they haven't a clue about how to run a proper restaurant for the most part. Toronto is so lucky to have easy access to so MUCH produce/meats that many restaurants there not only serve high quality food at excellent prices but also, you don't go away hungry after paying for an overpriced meal like is so often the case in Peterborough. Perhaps 1 day I'll get to enjoy a nice feast at Kos again.

I wouldn't eat here if everything on the menu was free and I was extremely hungry. This place used to be wonderful many years ago but now it is scary. The quality of food a stray dog wouldn't touch!

The only reason I give this place a 2 star rating instead of 1 is because the wait staff are excellent. After going here only 1 time on a date, the cost being almost $70 for 2 steak dinners, 1 appetizer, 1 milk, 1 coffee and 1 beer I was BEYOND disappointed not only with the price but with the portions as well. Fortunately the woman I went with works in the food service industry and she spoke up about the food, or lack there of for the price. They weren't about to pull the wool over her eyes since she does work in the same industry and she was most effective and got our bill reduced by $20. It seems that there isn't a single restaurant in this city that has heard of steaks in larger portions than those little 6 or 9oz (at the most) sizes (and that's the precooked weight). Steaks DO come in over 20oz portions in places such as Toronto, to die for 22oz porterhouse no less! I REALLY wish at least 1 Peterborough restaurant would bother to make the effort to import some decent size steaks from a market in the likes of Toronto and then I'd be quite happy to pay the price. Jake's is HIGHLY over rated and I will NEVER go here again. One final note, I just spoke with my aunt the other day and she had gone to Jake's recently. She was not impressed either with the size of the meal and the price considering the lack of quantity. She also said they hadn't cooked some of her meal very well and that the best thing on her plate was the vegetable. Pathetic!!!

This used to be a half decent to good place to eat, used to be is the key here. I will NEVER go here again. The 2nd last time I ate here it was for breakfast and, even though the food was edible, it was quite shocking to find that whoever was cooking that morning couldn't even cook breakfast properly. The toast and hash browns were burnt and the whole thing was done as if a 6 year old cooked it. The last time I ate here (if I should even say "ate") is what totally made up my mind that I won't ever go here again. My mother had always raved about the roast beef dinner and so I decided to try it this time. I am not one to waste food and, I was also very hungry, so for me to truly be unable to eat the food means it HAD to be terrible. The only things I managed to not waste were my drink of milk and the overcooked, but edible, vegetables (tiny portion). The roast was dry and smothered in a most awful gravy (to try and hide how dry it was I'm sure), the potatoes were not even edible and the yorkshire pudding was a disgrace to England. I truly could not believe how disgusting this meal was and had no idea why my mother would rave about it. Then again, this place seems to be frequented by senior citizens as a rule (which my mother is one) and I am wondering if people's taste buds start to fail with age??? Would not recommend at all.

The best sub shop I have ever been to and I've been to many all over Ontario. Excellent, quality, fresh ingredients always made by the most polite and friendly staff. I also appreciate how they make my subs to my very exacting order (I know my order is always so particular but they never seem to mind at all). It's nice to find a business that still honours the tradition of the customer is always right and it's as a result of this, their excellent food and superb service that this is the only sub shop I frequent.

The BEST burger I have ever had! How good the smells wafting out of this place should be illegal ... lol.

Excellent food, great atmostphere and very pleasant staff. Wish I could dine here at least once a week.
