| Gigi Et Jean French Restaurant | Redlands, CA | |
|
This is one of the few French restaurants in the
Inland Empire. Is is off the main road and would
never be seen unless you know where to look. The
owner is a warm-hearted French lady who gives the
place an at-home atmosphere. The food is quite good
too.

| Mr. Yu Chinese Food | Redlands, CA | |
|
This is a fast-food Chinese place, so it has that going against
it compared to real Chinese food. But in the category of fast-food
Chinese place is is average. They have lunch specials that are
big enough for two for a few bucks. Several of the friendly counter
attendants are Indonesian. They all would love to add Indonesian
food to the menu, but apparently, the boss won't have it. Too bad.

| Sam Woo Chinese Restaurant | Rowland Heights, CA | |
|
There seem to be a lot of Sam Woo's around and somehow they
are supposed to be related. This is one of the nicer ones
(although all have good food). For those people that live
in the Inland Empire, this is one of the closest, easiest
to get to big, real Chinese restaurants around. It is quite
recommended, but be prepared to wait a bit on Sundays at
noontime.

| Isabella's | San Bernardino, CA | |
|
Good European/Italian food, but kind of in an odd location
in downtown San Bernardino. Recommended.
|
||
| Chinese Table | Redlands, CA | |
|
For those who may find themselves at the laundromat in the
same strip mall, this may be a place to kill some time and
get fed. Authentic good Chinese food it is not, but sometimes
that is not what people are looking for.

| Isabella's Redlands | Redlands, CA | |
|
This restaurant has a sister in San Bernardino and they
seem to be much the same, although the Redlands store is
newer. Decent Italian/European food. Worth going to.

| Rama Garden Restaurant | Redlands, CA | |
|
Rama Garden is not the best Thai restaurant in the Inland
Empire, but the food is acceptable. It is recommended to
go with the meat dishes instead of the noodle dishes. The
food is not authentically spicy, but this is not Bangkok.

| Old Spaghetti Factory The | Riverside, CA | |
|
OK, so the decorations are cute. The food is edible. But a
little Italy it is not. It is probably the ideal location for
dating teenagers. Anyone who has spent time in Italy (or even
NYC for that matter) might not be so pleased.

| In-N-Out | San Bernardino, CA | |
|
Best fast food hamburger place anywhere, even though they are
a chain. There are all kinds of variations to the basic,
simple menu, but you have to ask.
|
||
| Ravis India Cuisine | Colton, CA | |
|
Ravi's is one of the better Indian restaurants in
Southern California, in spite of it being in
the Inland Empire. They serve vegatarian and meat
dishes. The curries are great. The nan is great.

||
| Chilis Bar & Grill | San Bernardino, CA | |
|
The Chilis in San Bernardino is just like everywhere
else. Standard American dinner restaurant chain. It
is a fine place to go for lunch with co-workers,
probably not where one would go for making a marriage
proposal.
|
||
| Castaway Restaurant & Banquets | San Bernardino, CA | |
|
Castaways is on top of a hill overlooking the valley.
This is where you go for prom night or any other
occassion when stars above and lights below may come
in handy. The food is very good for the Inland Empire.

||
| Korean Hometown | San Bernardino, CA | |
|
This is a little hole-in-the-wall place that will
do in a pinch. The food is not very good when
compared to Seoul, but it is closer. The staff
are friendly and helpful. I recommend something
other than the octopus.

||
| Korean Restaurant | San Bernardino, CA | |
|
This Korean restaurant has the bbq grills and the
staff will even help you use them. It is the best
Korean restaurant in the San Bernardino area.
|
||
| Lotus Garden | San Bernardino, CA | |
|
Many people think Lotus Garden is the best Chinese
restaurant in the San Bernardino area. Maybe that is
true. But this reviewer's recommendation is to
pass Lotus Garden and drive to Diamand Bar. Lotus
Garden is a little too Americanized and has definately
lost the "Chineseness" that makes for a great
Chinese restaurant.
|
||
| Olive Garden Italian Restaurant | San Bernardino, CA | |
|
The Olive Garden may be a dinner chain restaurant,
at least it is the best of that group. The food is
quite good and reasonably priced. That translates
into very good overall value.
|
||
| Pho Ha Vietnamese Restaurant | San Bernardino, CA | |
|
Typical Vietnamese restaurant, nothing stands
out in particular. Worth spending 5 bucks.
|
||
| El Pollo Loco | San Bernardino, CA | |
|
El Pollo Loco makes for a great alternative to
hamburgers. Better than other fast food mexican
chains. Remember the avacado sauce and celantro
condiments.
|
||
| Taco Ruidoso Restaurant | San Bernardino, CA | |
|
Taco Ruidoso is run by this surly old gent with
a sly smile and his sweet wife. The neighborhood
is not so great, but the food is excellent value.
This gent makes green jalepeno sauce to die for.
Forget Taco Bell or Del Taco. These people do things
right for about the same price. Be warned, the
soft tacos will melt in your mouth. They are closed
on Sunday.
|
||
| Yazmin Malaysian Restaurant | Alhambra, CA | |
|
Yazmin has typical Malaysian Chinese food. It may not be
exactly as good as in Penang, but for North America, it
is a nice change of pace.
