| Catalina Seafood Restaurant | Mobile, AL | |

I must say that I did not enjoy my experience at Catalina in the
least. Catalina is not typical of Mobile cuisine or atmosphere,
unless you are a regular at the soup kitchens. The people who own
the establishment obviously rely on their "regular" customers
to keep their doors open, for they do nothing to keep new customers
from returning.
The waitress seemingly used her extensive training at Mel's
Truck Stop to see that our needs were NOT met. I got one, yes, one
glass of tea. When I asked for my check, the other waitress told
me that I would have to wait, because my Loretta Lynn-esque servant
was taking her break, and would return in about 10 minutes. I truly
had to fight the urge to walk out right then and there, but I wanted
to see this to the end.
The food was worth about half the price that they charged. I had
healthy portions on my plate, but the "chef" needed to learn about
proper deveining. My fries were even overdone.
I have been to many restaurants where the ambience is rustic,
but the food is great. I had high hopes for Catalina. But, I must
say, that unless you have just ended a week of fasting, and you
happen to live closer to Catalina's than the local Mcd's, do not
eat here.
