| Sobe Bar-Bq | Miami, FL | |
|
This is probably the best of the best in Bar-BQ cuisine in South
Florida and is worth the trip. The portion size is overwhelming
and so good that you have to eat it all. Super good brisket...Awesome
potatoe salad...Homebaked cornbread...and everything else
on the menu exceeds expectations as well. The establishment
has a homey feel-long picnic type table eating...a professional
warm staff that is really concerned that you are satisfied with
the dining experience. Don't expect Country music however (thank
goodness) but do expect current Dance/Club selections and a
wide variety of diners. Dress is casual-parking is widely available
(I've never circled more than a couple of times to get a good metered
location) and there is valet parking available at night. If you
are in a South Beach hotel or residence they do deliver. They ARE
my first stop after a roughly 275 mile trip from Tampa!

| Olive Garden Italian Restaurant | Lakeland, FL | |
|
This unit is probably the best in the chain best as i can tell. Always
great servers-Always great food.

| Olive Garden | Layton, UT | |
|
A great place for Italian dining with an American twist. It really
is very tasty and well prepared food at one of the best of the chain
locations in terms of server friendliness and professionalism
and in terms of always having everything just right. The endless
soup, salad, and breadsticks are a definite plus.

| Dennys Restaurant Murray | Murray, UT | |
|
It's a Dennys-Need I say more. You get what you want twenty four
hours a day. Always clean, always friendly, many time very
full and the food quality is improving. The hamburgers are the
equal of any upper class burger offering and the egg dishes-ah
yes the GRAND SLAM-are good-better so if you request real eggs
on the omelettes and scrambled rather than the liquid pre-mix
that they use at many Denneys locations.

| Tamarisk Restaurant | Green River, UT | |
|
I really have to question if the above revieweer went to the same
restaurant. The only thing that we agree on is the super friendliness
of the staff. I have-in all of the years that I have been wheeling
east and west on I-70 that this has been one of the high-lights
of waking up at the next door Motel 6 or sliding off the Interstate
for dinner before heading off into the night. I have never had
a bit of a question about the food quality. It is always top notch.
The breakfast buffet-to me- was as good as they get and the dinner
buffet was proof of how good cooking in independently owned Utah
restaurants can be. Not only are these folks friendly but they
make you feel like you are visiting them at their home.

| Dees Family Restaurants | Holladay, UT | |
|
A local chain all over the Salt Lake City area. This is good coffee
shop food-large portions of comfort food. A good number of the
customers are regulars and it's easy to see why. If you want an
exceptional breakfast or good soldi comfort food for lunch or
dinner this is a good choice.

||
| Crown Burgers | Salt Lake City, UT | |
|
This place is legendary in SLC. They have several locations.
The burgers are fresh made and the fry sauce is tasty. They are
very very busy almost always. Staff is fresh appearing and really
very accomodating. If you want burgers and fries this is the place
to go.
|
||
| Cracker Barrel | Salt Lake City, UT | |
|
A touch of the old south in SLC. The food and the country store are
much like a quick visit to Mississippi. Where else can you get
real - I mean REAL- southern style fried food and biscuits in Utah?
This is an example of the fact that food that is well cooked and
presented can bring back memories of another time-another place.
If you are from the South or want to taste the South this is a accurate
of a rendition as you are going to get.

| Hometown Buffet | Salt Lake City, UT | |
|
There are better---there are worse---but overall this branch
of the chain is good. a lot of variety---a lot of basic good cooking.
It will fill you up.

| Red Robin | Salt Lake City, UT | |
|
It's like an upscale Denny's...The food is good-the surrounding
pleasant-the servers professional-but-in the end there was
nothing to really make you feel you want to race back for more.

| Sbarro's Italian Eatery | Salt Lake City, UT | |
|
From coast to coast you know that if you are in a mall or in a few places
at one of their freestanding locations that what awaits you is
reasonably good pizza and pasta. Prices vary by location but
the quality is very standardized. It is filling, tasty, friendly, and
alway anything from a bargain to fairly priced.
|
||
| Sbuway Sandwiches | Salt Lake City, UT | |
|
Subway:This is a very typical Subway-good sandwiches fast-friendly
servers-good location-and you know that it's good for you.
|
||
| Country Buffet | Arvada, CO | |
|
Good buffet! The salad bar is very fresh and varied as are the entrees.
You see lots of activity on the floor from the frenzy of diners
refilling their plates and from the runners from the kitchen
refilling the steam tables. The price is reasonable, the quality
quite good, and the atmosphere and location are both good.

| Golden Corral | Fort Collins, CO | |
|
For the hungary traveler this is a most welcome sight. The quality
of the food that eminates from the kitchen is outstanding. This
pot roast will equal anybodies mothers efforts. The real, and
I do mean homemade, mashed potatoes are equally reminisent of
real mom made food. Lunch and dinner buffets don't differ much
with the exception of the carved dinner meats or specials such
as the all the steak dinner special or seafood dinner special.
Overall-it's great!

| Little America Hotel & Resort | Cheyenne, WY | |
|
This is the epitome of the old style grand hotel dining room. What
you pay here nets you a meal of elegant taste and presentation.
The servers, decor, food quality and presentation all go towards
remembering a day gone by when the hotel(and department store)
restaurant were something special. Great breakfasts to get
you ready for the road..

||
| Rip Griffin Country Fair Rest | Rawlins, WY | |
|
This is a truck stop...Expect the smoke and noise of a truck stop.
Expect very good food from an operator that does it the right way.
The Griffin truck stops are all over the southwest and west and
where they have restaurant facilities such as this one you can
expect everything to be good, large portioned, and out as quickly
as possible.
|
||
| JB's Family Restaurant | Rawlins, WY | |
|
Good coffee shop dining....It's tasty, well cooked and fairly
priced. The breakfast bar is alway varied and a great value at
under $4.00 weekdays.

| Flying J Truck Stop | Ogden, UT | |
|
The headquarter for the Flying J chain is here in Ogden. This is
a fairly new location with a full buffet as well as fast food to
go in the C-store and a pizza and chinese fast food court area.
The dining room has an extensive menu and is open 24/7. The buffet
is plentiful and operates breakfast through late dinner hours.
They have a schedule of entrees that makes Tuesday(for example)
Southwest day and Wednesday Italian day. The great thing about
this is that each Flying J buffet tastes just like the next (or
previous) so you know what to expect when you enter and it's good
to great. They even have phones available for the tables so you
can get business done and save the cell phone bill.

| New York Deli News | Denver, CO | |
|
A touch of New York...The rare location with a real turkey leg
on the menu....a real large turkey leg. The complete meal is enough
to fill the most hungry among us. Service is very friendly and
the "entering New York" sign is perfect for what you encounter
inside. I haven't had the deli sandwiches yet but they looked
outstanding as they went by my table. When busy the line moves
very effectively.

||
| Gunther Toody's | Denver, CO | |
|
Don't worry about going alone because the server will no doubt
sit down at the table with you not only to take your order but, if
you seem to be staring off into space and the restaurant isn't
busy, to visit for a while. However they manage to have a restaurant
so full of really nice employees with really great food as though
it was lifted out of the fifties and placed in various locales
around Denver is beyond me but I'm sure glad that I discovered
them. The meatloaf and real mashed are the ultimate comfort food.
This is a restaurant where it's more than the food that makes you
leave smiling-it's the people.
