Hazel Bates gave this restaurant one star. She must live in West Little Rock & prefer the "sick perfection" of chain restaurants, be it they have no class or character (& the food is typically prepared a thousand miles away in some warehouse production kitchen). Juanita's is a Little Rock icon & is untuchable in my eyes for what they have given & continue to give to the city of Little Rock. They are the anchor of a struggling, but up & coming neighborhood, they have the best Tex-Mex in Arkansas, & the Music scene is unmatched in the state.
I for one will always support a restaurant that has so consistantly supported Little Rock.

I must say that this restaurant is average at best except for those that have been eating it for the last 40 years. The Mexican Food is pretty bad, but the hot sauce consistant & delicious. The decor is out of a weird "b" movie & is a great place to take a fun date, (if they have a good since of humor).

Where else can you listen to gosple, eat slammin' pork ribs & sip on a 40 ounce. A true Arkansas classic.

You have to give this restaurat credit. Who else in Arkansas was serving Carpaccio in the 80's? They took some big risques & have succeeded. Have a sip of wine at the Afterthought next door, then enjoy one of the more classic but innovative Italian menus in Little Rock. Kudos to La Scala.

The coffee bags are a recgonizable brand from Sysco foods. That in itself is bad enough, but they have know idea how to make coffee. When will a Little Rock coffee house learn that foam on a Cappiccuino should be dense & thick? When will they learn that "Grande" is just a large (say "Grande" in San Francisco & people think your a moron). When will they learn how to extract a crema from espresso? When will they learn that good fresh coffee beans make good fresh coffee?
Maybe a Peet's will open here soon & teach us all a lesson.
