| Boston Chicken | Pikesville, MD | |
|
Like most Boston Chicken's...there unque appeal has worn off!
The chicken & turkey are pretty good, though nothing sensational.
There side orders vary depending on the visit...from very good
to average! Unfortunately, this chain is becoming TOO fast foodish
for my taste...you see it NOT only in the quality of the food, but
the cleanliness & attentiveness (or lack thereof) by the staff!!!
Quite frankly, there's TOO many other NICE choices for great
food up and down this busy strip. Eat here if you only want it fast,
simple & modestly priced...there's not much else!!!

| Snyder's Cafe & Deli | Owings Mills, MD | |
|
Snyder's is UNIQUE in several ways...I've been here many times!
It has its positives and negatives! First off, it is a small family
run business whcih REALLY tries to provide great service. It
portions are large but the quality varies on the dish. Their kosher
food is apparently pretty good (as they LOVE to tell eveyone!).
Salads are good, burgers ok, hot dogs good...they always FLOOD
the plates with chips, fries and other side orders to minimize
thier lack of qualtiy (sometimes also quantity) of the centerpiece
or the main course. Another thing that I've noticed on occasion
here, if you are not friends of the family owners (as many of the
older couples are)...count on half-hazard service! The older
( and often slower) customers tend to get preferential treatment.
We TRY to go to two of the waiters that we KNOW are good...some of
the others are slow & lazy! Food is good, not great. Somewhat overated...a
real gathering place for the older jewish community, some of
these groups are large, noisy and expect WORLD-class service!

| Linwood's Cafe-Grille & Shop | Owings Mills, MD | |
|
Excellent food and service! Linwood Dane did the catering to
MY OWN wedding this last spring...his reputation is impeccable!
Demands nothing but the Best and will settle for nothing less
then that! Its more expensive..but you get what you pay for!!!
Steak, fish, pizza...literally every cuisine is scrumptous...EASILY
one of the best place to get a bite in the are...no doubt!!!

| C J's Restaurant | Owings Mills, MD | |
|
I am not a seafood enthusiast but my wife IS....she LOVES this
place!!! Crabcakes and lobster are apparently VERY good. The
burgers are pretty good...nice portion sizes! The ambiance
is a little red-necky but that's okay because the prices are modest.
Tough to get in their on a Thur, Fri or Sat nite. Shrimp is also pretty
good. They DO have a nice pick-up service on a side entrance!

||
| Pepper Mill | West Chester, PA | |
|
GREAT steak sandwiches...some of the Best in the area. Nice ambiance,
very quaint. Centrally located right off Paoli Pike, not far
from downtown West Chester and Hershey's Mill. They also deliver!
NIce place, food's slightly higher priced but the quality IS
definitely there!!

||
| Yangming | Bryn Mawr, PA | |
|
Regarded as one of the top Chinese restaurants in Philly, Yangming
has a WONDEFUL combination of OUTSTANING food, ambiance and
pleasantry to it! The staff REALLY tries to make it a memorable
dining experience. Some of the VERY best chinese food I've eaten!
The building also has ALOT of historical significance ot it!
|
||
| Paolini's Ristorante | Bryn Mawr, PA | |
|
Been around for years...one of the better (though NOT top) italian
restaurants in the west suburbs. Food is good, portions are large...the
faithful ALWAYS show up there!
|
||
| Vickers Tavern | Exton, PA | |
|
WONDERFUL dining experience...GREAT atmosphere and serivce!
One of the better classy restaurants in the Chester Cty area...make
reservations on Thur, Fri & Sat.

||
| La Fourchette | Wayne, PA | |
|
OUTSTANDING French dishes, reknown service. Small & quaint,
located in downtown Wayne near everything!!! Oh yeah, the food
is DELICIOUS!!!
|
||
| Minella's Mainline Diner | Wayne, PA | |
|
Whether for Sunday brunch or late night snacking, Minella's
is an institution for many from the western Main Line. Service
is good as is the food. Some things never change...drive down
Lancaster Ave any Sunday morning and you'll see a LONG line waiting
to get into this 50s style restaurant...GREAT for taking the
family or meeting friends, very casual!!!
|
||
| Smokey Joe's | Wayne, PA | |
|
Smokey Joe's is no longer, much to the dismay of the college crowd!!!
It once was THE place to frequent for the beer-chugging crowds.
Radnor Twshp was only too GLAD to see it go...was a nuisance to
the neighboring community for years!
|
||
| Ristorante Primavera-Wayne | Wayne, PA | |
|
Some of the BEST Italian in the Main Line. Been there 'bout a dozen
times and have NEVER been disappointed. Valet parking, make
reservations on busy nights.
|
||
| Binni & Flynn's Cantina | Wayne, PA | |
|
10 years ago, this place was considered Good...no longer! Too
many other places nearby make this a LAST resort. Even for Mexican
(which I LOVE) it is subpar! It is in a dying shopping center as
well. Only go here if your budget mandates it or if , by some far
chance, every other Mexican cantina is closed in the surrounding
Philly area! This place is just old & stale looking...nothing
fresh or new anymore!
|
||
| Villa Strafford | Wayne, PA | |
|
Very hoity-toity, I only go here when one of my wealthy relatives
is in town. WONDERFUL food, everything is Top-notch! Definitely
for the older Main Line crowd. This is first-class ALL the way!!!
|
||
| Mel's Italian | Bala Cynwyd, PA | |
|
GREAT local Italian food...lots of local celebs come in here
from time to time! Has a NICE ambiance, VERY underated as far as
TOP-notch Italian restaurants in Philly go...one of my personal
favorites!
|
||
| Guard House Inn | Gladwyne, PA | |
|
Make a reservation, this place is WELL-KNOWN to the Main Line
locals...I've been going here since I was a kid. An older crowd,
many of the patrons know each other. Food is good though not outstanding.
Of course, being located in the small village of Gladwyne...you're
now in the wealthiest zip code in Pennslyvania. Driving their
is a TREAT if you're not from the area. Overall, for a 1st timer,
it'll be a MEMORABLE experience!!!
|
||
| Cunningham's Court | Conshohocken, PA | |
|
Food's OK...you'll go here to see some local buddies or business
people from across the street, in the booming Conshy area! Named
after Billy Cunningham (who I think is STILL part owner), this
place is first, and foremost, a drinking pub and meeting place.
It is NOT top dining though!
|
||
| Malvern Meeting House Rstrnt | Malvern, PA | |
|
Very casual, this is where many of the Locals come & meet, bring
their families. Modestly priced, I've been going here for years.
In the Frazier-Malvern area, this placeis regarded by many as
an institution. The veal parmigian is especially good!
|
||
| Cafe La Grande | Malvern, PA | |
|
Been around for a long time, this place has OUTSTANDING food.
Their Sunday Brunch, witrh buffet, is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Once
saw Phylicia & Ahmad Rashad here (Phylicia's parents are from
nearby Bryn Mawr). GOOD food!!!
|
||
| Lion's Share | Lionville, PA | |
|
Excellent service, little bit older crowd...DEFINITELY one
of the classier restaurants in the Exton/Lionville area. Food
was VERY GOOD!
