| Buca Di Beppo | Indianapolis, IN | |
|
The person who left the first comment put $10-$15 per entree...but
when I went, I paid $30 for lasagna for two people. I don't like
this place at all. First off, they don't give you menus, instead
you read it off the wall. For anyone who doesn't have perfect eyesight,
forget seeing it without trouble. Not to mention...it feels
a bit awkward looking at the menu that is on the wall right where
people are sitting...it's like you're staring right at them.
Secondly, the food, atleast what I have had of it doesn't taste
very good. I guess everyone is different, but like I said, last
time I went I got lasagna, and I could barely eat any of it. The atmosphere
seems a bit hurried and the tables are way too close. The dining
area is just way to small for the amount of tables they cram in there.
I personally don't care for the place.

| Garfield's | Terre Haute, IN | |
|
I love Garfields. I live near Evansville, but everytime I come
to Terre Haute, I eat here. The food isn't the best and sometimes
I feel as tho they don't have a big variety of entrees, but it has
a really comfortable atmospehere, with great lighting. The
location is really great, because it's inside Honey Creek Mall,
the bigger of the two malls I know of in the city. Plus, if you take
the exit that goes out into the mall you're right next to Walden
Books and Suncoast, which are two of my favorite stores. The service
is pretty good...not perfect, but it's nice anyhow. I would say
Garfield's selling point, especially this location, is the
atmosphere and the overall mood of the dining area.

| Cracker Barrel Old Couttry Store | Terre Haute, IN | |
|
Like most well run Cracker Barrel Restaurants, the Terre Haute
location is a great place to eat. The food is very well priced,
and you usually get a lot for your buck, especially if you get something
from the breakfast menu. Speaking of the breakfast menu, you
can order anything from it all times of the day. I usually have
the breakfast sampler thing, so I don't know a lot about the "dinner"
food. What I have had of it, I liked a lot. The service is generally
very good, and other than the fact that there are no booths, the
atmosphere is nice.

| Eagle's Nest Restaurant The | Indianapolis, IN | |
|
This is an amazing restaurant in downtown Indianapolis, overlooking
the state capitol. It sits high atop the Hyatt Regency Hotel,
and it rotates slowly while you dine. The food is awesome, if you
can find something you like on the menu. The menu is very limited,
but when you find something you like, it's worth it. I have been
only once, and I had the filet mignon. It comes with vegetables
and smashed potato. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had.
The atmosphere is somewhat intimidating for anyone who has never
been to a very nice restaurant. I, for one, had never been to a restaurant
with a dress code until going here, so I was a bit unnerved. However,
once you're over that, it's very nice. The view is spectacular,
and there is very low romantic lighting in the dining area. As
I noted, the food is very expensive, and if you're a big eater,
this place might disappoint you, because I don't think the servings
are big enough...especially for the prices.

| Crystal's Diner | Boonville, IN | |
|
I have never been to the new Crystal's location, but I have been
to the old place, and I like it. It's not spectacular or anything,
but the food is decent. They mainly had burgers and similar items,
sandwiches, etc...and there was nothing spectacular about
the food when it came to the taste. The atmospehere at the old location
was nice. It was unique. The new building, I don't like how it looks.
I think they changed the menu, and added a bigger variety of entrees.
I wouldn't go crazy about the place, but if you're in Boonville,
your choices are very limited restaurant-wise.

| Townhouse Family Restaurant | Boonville, IN | |
|
This is a fairly decent place near downtown Boonville. The food
is ok and the prices are very reasonable. It's nothing spectacular,
but then again--nothing in Boonville is. They have a good variety
of menu items, and as I said the food is priced very nicely.

| Kipplee's Stadium Inn | Evansville, IN | |
|
This is a nice relaxed place. They have a veggie basket with mini
tacos and various veggies sort of battered and fried, and it's
really good. They have some really good appetizers as well. It's
very casual and laid back, and the atmosphere overall is very
nice. The service is generally very good and the staff is friendly.
Great pizza as well.

| Gerst Bavarian Haus | Evansville, IN | |
|
This is a really nice place with some very good food. For what you
get, the prices are right on as well. It has a nice atmosphere,
with german bands playing sometimes. I think you can join along
with them in singing, but I'm not positive. When I went, we sat
near the windows, and the dining area is very large. It's not crowded,
tho it tends to get loud sometimes. The selling point here is the
food...no matter what you get, you can't go wrong, in my opinion.
I especially like the chicken strips...they're very unique,
and they're not like most of the strips you'll get at other restaurants.

| Maurizios Pizza & Restaurant | Brazil, IN | |
|
I, like the other reviewer, have only had the pizza, and it's
really good. It doesn't have the taste of the pizzas from the big
chains, and I find that to be a good thing. The place was packed
when I was there, but we took the pizza home, so I can't fairly judge
the service. The pizzas are big, and they're really well priced.
Plus, it was fixed and ready to go when we got there very shortly
after we called to order it.

| Locust Street Cafe | Boonville, IN | |
|
This is one of the nicest places in Boonville. They have great
service and a wonderful atmosphere. I have only been here twice,
but I completely enjoyed it both times. They have a good choice
in entrees and they are very well priced.

||
| Village Fireside and Pizza | Boonville, IN | |
|
This is a pretty good pizza place in Boonville. It is located near
the outskirts of town on Main Street, heading out toward Dale
and Reo, etc...The building is big, and there's lots of room.
It's very nice considering the atmosphere. It has been quite
sometime since I have been there, and I think it might be currently
closed, but who knows, it might reopen. But...as I said, I'm not
sure, it might still be open. The service is usually reliable,
and the food, quality- wise, is good. They have other entrees
other than pizza, I think...and I'm pretty sure they serve breakfast.

| Hunan Restaurant of Boonville | Boonville, IN | |
|
This place is just awful. The food's taste is decent at best. The
problem I have with it is cleanliness. I'm not sure, but the problems
I had might have been with old management, so I apologize if the
new management has none of these problems. The last I went there,
I had the buffet, and I swear I saw one of the workers drop food on
the floor and just throw it back into the buffet. Of course, that
was the end of my meal, but ya know. Like I said, I think the management
might have changed, and if so, check the place out. I definitely
prefer Lee's Garden for Chinese food in Boonville.

| Triangle Restaurant & Lounge | Boonville, IN | |
|
This restaurant has been thru a few management changes since
it opened as far as I know. The food is nothing spectacular, and
the atmosphere is one of a small town diner. The building itself
is sort of rundown and dirty, but I guess seeing as how it isn't
but a small business, it might be hard to improve that. It's an
O.K. place to go, but nothing to go crazy about. I would recommend
the breakfast as opposed to dinner or lunch.

| O'charleys | Evansville, IN | |
|
This is definitely my favortite restaurant in Evansville. I
usually have the filet mignon with a salad or potato cheese soup
and a baked potato, but I sometimes get the club sandwich or fried
chicken salad. All of these items are great. The service ie great
as well. You get a basket of rolls to start out with and they keep
bringing them until you want them to stop. So...half of the time,
the people I go with eat so many rolls, they're not even that hungry
when the meal comes. Anyhow, it's a great place, the service is
good, and it has a nice environment. Try the cheese wedges...they
use spicy cheese.

| Hacienda -- East | Evansville, IN | |
|
This is the place to go for Mexican food, if you ask me. I either
get the wet burrito or chicken quesadilas. They are both great
items and they always come out hot. You get chips and salsa to start
out with, and they keep bringing them until you don't wany anymore.
The service is usually good, and it has a fairly nice environment.
I'd say, try to get a booth, it's much more comfortable than the
tables in the middle of everything.

| Rafferty's Restaurant & Bar | Evansville, IN | |
|
This is my second favorite place in Evansville, just short of
my favorite place- O' Charleys. The food is really good, even
tho some of the items are more expensive than other comparable
restaurants. The servers are sometimes a bit off performance
wise, and on the weekends, I've had to wait three hours for a table,
when they told me it would be an hour at most. Other than that, the
place is great. I think they have the best filet mignon there is...it
has a very unique taste to it. It sort of tastes like they use soy
sauce in the cooking somewhere.

||
| Logan's Roadhouse | Evansville, IN | |
|
I usually get a steak here, as I do with all steak houses...and
it's usually pretty good. Someone said something about the porterhouse
in another comment, but I don't care for it personally. When I
had it a few months ago, it was very fatty, so I usually stick to
the filet mignon. The service is usually right on, and the atmosphere,
tho sometimes crowded and loud is enjoyable. They have really
good desserts here.

| Garfields | Evansville, IN | |
|
This is a new place in Evansville, and I have eaten a lot at the Garfield's
in Terre Haute which is inside of Honey Creek Mall. I like it a lot,
so I went to the Evansville location. The atmosphere is very light,
and you can draw with crayons on the paper table cloths. The service
is decent, but not the best, atleast from what I've seen. The prices
are good, but I think the menu is limited. They do have a lot of entrees,
I guess...but they're all alike. I usually get the steakalada
platter which has a steak that isn't that good and chicken quesadilas,
which I love, and it comes with fiesta corn or a baked potato. The
margaritas are pretty good.
|
||
| Bockelman's | Evansville, IN | |
|
This place is pretty good when it comes to home cooking. Most of
the menu is set up where you order either fried chicken or ham,
and you get vegetables to go with it--mashed potatoes, corn,
green beans (I think)...I'm not big on this type of food, that's
why I rated it a 2, but if you like this style of food, you'll enjoy
this place.
