One great experience.
This place is not your typical Mexican restaurant.(thank God!!!)
The entrees are creative and exquisitely prepared. We can never
go here and not order too much!!!! We did it again this time!!!
The surf and turf special was humongous. Filet and Langostino.
Our waiter was incredible.
The bartender was obnoxiously effecient and machine like. He
did speak English, but my answering machine is nicer to me. His
shortcomings however, did not spoil the incredible meal and
otherwise great service.
This is the best Mexican food I have ever had anywhere--and there
are some great ones in Chicago!!! If you love Mexican food and
you are visiting Philly----you cannot miss this treasure!!!

| The National Hotel | Frenchtown, NJ | |
|
One great old place with an atmosphere that is exceedingly rare.
The food here is excellent. The best dining nights are Fridays
through Tuesdays. Wednesdays and Thursdays, the Grill items
are your best choice.
The service can either be fabulous or downright awful!!! This
is the main problem here. If the service was more consistent--this
establishment could easily rate a 4 1/2 or 5.
For a laid back cocktail and medium price dining experience, in
one great old hotel where history surrounds and envelopes you,
on Monday nights when Dawn is bartending and the main chef is on,
this place is well worth driving a distance for. Tuesday nights
are a good choice also.
If you have never been here, you have to see the downstairs bar
called the Ratskellar (or THE RAT as fondly referred to by the
locals)(this is an old German word that rougly translated means
a public meeting place----

One of my friends' favorite places in the whole world. (I guess
I have lots of burger buddies!!!)The food always seems to be prepared
very well, good quality ingredients.
I always want them to bring the food to me however. I always feel
like I am back in the school cafeteria.
Very good choice for burgers when you gotta have one.

Great little restaurant with a loyal and large local following.
Home cooking with sophistication. (but not too much) This place
always seems to be busy. One of our Philly favorites.

| Cafe Nola | Philadelphia, PA | |
|
This review covers a period of decades for Nola. One of the members
of our party has seen and been to this establishment in three of
their locations. (And enjoyed it every time.)
This trip was for a late lunch, and everything was superb!!! The
affordability of the lunch menu is outstanding for a restaurant
of this size and reputation.
The Cajun Popcorn Shrimp on a bed of greens was delightfully conceived
and prepared.
The Gumbo YA YA was huge!!!!! and fabulous!!!!
My partners were very pleased with their Neptune Salad and Angels
on Horsebacks!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our server was fantastic!!!!
Bloody Mary's great!!!!!!!!!!!
The atmosphere was perfect....
We can't wait to go back again for dinner.

(note****no one was paid to praise these guys here!!!!)

| Copabanana | Philadelphia, PA | |

One Busy LLLLoud Fun place.
When we gotta have a great BIG burger with all the fixins and we're
in the neighborhood----we gotta go---------HERE!!!
I do think you'll enjoy it more with a margarita though. Not the
place for intimate quiet contemplation and whispered conversations!!!!
Burgers and bohemian boisterousness??????

| Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits | Trenton, NJ | |
|
Best Chicken and Fixin's' on the planet!!!!
This chain is one that I wish were bigger, but from my experience
at this location, it just can't get any better!!!!
The consistant good food we have gotten here makes it such that
whenever we are near this place----we go out of our way to bring
home take-out!!!
The staff has always been great to us. The food has never been bad.
The quality is outstanding. I wish a lot of fast food chains could
take lessons from these people!!!
Do not miss---
1. Red beans and rice---we have tried to duplicate this recipe
at home and ours are never this good!!!
(talk about secret recipes!!!)
2. Spicy (fabulous!!!) chicken
3. Great biscuits!!!!
4. Always good slaw....
Would Popeyes please consider a location in our home town?????
(or Phillipsburg, NJ) Trenton is a one hour drive for us!!!!

| Grecos Italian Market | Frenchtown, NJ | |
|
The best Italian Deli in our area, it is a great source for take-out
or eat-in for fine cheeses, gourmet food items, (and lots of stuff
for your upcoming party)
There is a good selection of fresh sandwiches made to order. Our
favorite is the Italian Turkey-Cranberry Pita. We love this
one with those funny Gourmet potatoe chips.

| De Annas Restaurant | Lambertville, NJ | |
|
One creative Chef/Owner is always hard at work here making fabulous
tasty and creative food. She has never dissapointed us, and it
is always a pleasure to go here.
The tiny restaurant is very successful---call ahead early for
reservations. The decor is somehow very right. It is a dark and
cozy place that is very romantic and wonderful.
Bring your own wine, sit back and enjoy. The wait staff is always
good also.
One of our favorites of all time!!!
Try the special tiny gourmet pizza of the day!!!
