| PAVAROTT'S ITALIAN CAFE | Dallas, TX | |
|
My God, I love this place. If you are hungrier than Ezra during
lunch, do whatever it takes to come out here. For $4.95 you get
more food than you can shake a stick at. The Chicken Pavarotti
is Excellent, and receives my honorary 'CHIEF'S CHEAP CHOICE' for
1997. Try dining in and sitting down when you have the time.
The chefs are truly blessed at Pavarotti's, and the prices will
make you never want to leave. As for the atmosphere...well, we
can't have everything, now, can we? The staff is cordial enough,
and will happily grumble 'water!' when they remember that you
need water. This will only add to the dining experience. Let me
recap: cheap, great, carnosaur portions, strange atmosphere.
Cheap, great, strange portions, carnosaur atmosphere. Great,
cheap, strange, carnosaur atmospheres. Portions.
Eat Cheap. chief.

| Guadalajara Restrnt | Dallas, TX | |
|
Cheap, great ambience since they put in the flourescent
green lights in the window. Be prepared to speak spanish
and bring plenty of your own beer. I recommend (as always)
the carne asado burrito, one burrito will damn near be
enough for your entire meal. My dining partners were all
carnosaurs, so they give it a whopping eight out of five
stars. They'll eat anything you put in front of them. And
they'll drink a lot of beer while they're at it. Signing
off, I am...Chief

| Mia's Tex-Mex Restaurant | Dallas, TX | |
|
It's nearly impossible to find bad Mexican Food in Texas.
Mia's is no exception. Great food, good atmosphere.
Interesting stories about Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson will
cause you to partially lose your appetite, but if you get
there during peak dinner hours, you'll have to wait a few
minutes, and this will allow you to regain your appetite.

| Chow Thai Addison | Plano, TX | |
|
Since I eat here quite a bit, it's hard give an unbiased
review. Suffice it to say that this is a truly unique
dining experience. The food is extremely flavorful, the
decor is pure California. If you like curry, order the
panang and worship the chef. Also great is the Tom Kha
mushroom soup, the Tum Yum, Gapow (Chili Mint), Curry With
Green Beans, and Pad Thai. Basically it's all pretty good.
Be sure to get a glass of Thai Iced tea or a Bombay Sapphire
from the well-stocked bar.

| VICTOR'S TAQUERIA | Garland, TX | |
|
Well cats and kittens, I have to give this particular
restaurant a '3' due to the fact that my dining partner and
I were divided on opinions. He ordered the carnosaur
special; lots of sausage and whole slabs o' bacon, and later
complained of tummyache. I, on the other hand, ordered the
fajita B'rito (excellent. I highly recommend it.) , chicken
fajita tacos, several tamales, and chips/guac/hot sauce. As
a general rule I like to give at least four stars to any
establishment that serves HOT HOT salsa, and the salsa was
heated, which I generally give Five to SIXTY stars for.
Bottom line: Make the pligrimage to Garland to eat at
Victor's. Authentic mexican doesn't get any finer.
However, if you aren't in the mood for tummyache, avoid the
carnosaur plate.
