Both the setting and the clientle are a bit funky. When was the last time you ate something totally new and exciting with your hands? If you can't decide what to order, the owner will help you out. If you are a fan of Chinese-American food, this isn't necessarily the restaurant for you! You won't recognize the best things on the menu. The Golden Plate offers true Chinese cuisine, in a comfortable setting with superb service. I have never been a fan of Chinese food until I ate at this family-run establishment. Try to order from the back of the menu....The entrees you usually find at most Chinese-American restaurants are toward the front. Yes, the sesame pockets are wonderful and the garlic beans are a cosmic experience.
