| Arthur Bryant Barbeque | Kansas City, MO | |
|
A dumpy or homey looking place depending on your point of view,
don't let the decor sway you in a negative way. The BBQ here is excellent
with the original sauce unbeleivable with just the right amount
of spice and brown sugar taste. I had the long ends and my sister
had the beef sandwich. I would probably stay away from the beef
sandwich even though it was large (meat not cut thick enough for
me). The turkey looked good as well. The best part however was
the baked beans. Sweet and saucy with the beans themselves melting
in your mouth. Excellent and would go there again.

| Zanzibar | Ann Arbor, MI | |
|
Central American type cuisine majoring in tropical dishes.
Food was good but a little less than I expected during dinner.
Was hoping for a larger portion. SUnday brunch is acceptable
but definately not the best breakfast option in Ann Arbor by far.
Beautiful decor and full bar along with good atmosphere keep
people coming back.

| Bagel Factory & Deli | Ann Arbor, MI | |
|
One of the better bagel stores in Ann Arbor, I especially enjoy
the wheat bagels (full grains in here!) or one of their excellent
breakfast sandwiches. I suggest the "Stanley Cup" bagel sandwich...
quite tasty! STudent service though so expect a little backlog
of customers in the morning.

| Mark's Midtown Coney Island | Saline, MI | |
|
Good ole' Michigan Coney Island... cheap coney dogs (hot dogs
with chili, mustard, and onions on top) and greek salads highlighting
the menu.
Try the wednesday special where coneys go down in price. Friendly,
neighboorhood kid type service with a clean atmosphere. Recommended
for a quick bite to eat or a cheap dinner passing through Saline.

| University Inn & Conference | West Lafayette, IN | |
|
Excellent conference dinner capabilities... attended a regional
conference at Purdue in April 2000 and loved it. Food was good,
service was excellent. Only problem being that air conditioning
was a little lax. Highly recommended for conferences in the area.

| Wabash Yacht Club | West Lafayette, IN | |
|
Average college dive. Food was passable, drinks were OK.. seemed
like a better place to hang out drink than eat. Overall average,
but that's not to say its bad... just, well, average. Chicken
sandwiches are the favorite on this menu.

| Phillip's Seafood Buffet | Baltimore, MD | |
|
Buffet style seafood restaurant provides tourists like myself
a decent adaptation of the Maryland seafood scene. I suggest
going for dinner to get the king crab legs.. I liked the crab cakes
and softshell crabs but the soups and meat dishes fell flat. If
you go here, stick to the seafood and you'll enjoy yourself.
Good place to go before an Orioles game if you're in Baltimore
for the baseball.

| House of Blues Cafe | Las Vegas, NV | |
|
I like the House of Blues chain and here was no different. Loved
the jambalaya and the catfish. There are some nice alternatives
for those not into the spicy life of cajun cuisine. Atmosphere
is great for being inside a casino and the desserts are top notch!
One of the better themed chain restaurant. And don't miss the
gospel brunch on Sundays!

| Dierdorf & Hart's Steak House | Saint Louis, MO | |
|
Good traditional steakhouse in the heart of meat country. Pricy
and a little upscale, D&H's serves up a fine piece of red meat.
Don't try and go cutesy here- stick with one of the quality steaks
llike the porterhouse or fillet mignon. Watch out for the drink
bill- can get expensive.

||
| Harry Caray's | Chicago, IL | |
|
Good bar and grill food- remember you're in a classic Chicago
bar so don't go fancy. Stay with traditionals like burgers, sandwiches
and the like. Gret atmosphere if you're a bseball fan and THE place
to be outside of Wrigleyville for a Cubs game. Harry's grandson
sometimes stops by after games and will drink with the patrons.
Prices are typical for a Hard Rock-type of place. But overall
good and would go there again in an instant.

| Mr B's Food & Spirits-Troy | Troy, MI | |
|
Good munchies and reasonably priced entrees that fill you up
create a fun atmosphere in which to dine. Very worthwhile and
highly recommended for a "friends night out" kind of meal.
|
||
| Panera Bread | Troy, MI | |
|
Sandwiches are filling, but the real treat here is the bread.
I suggest just a loaf for yourself, take it home and fill it up with
your favorite lunch meats. Full meals can be fairly pricy for
deli style food but very good.

||
| Ridley's Bakery Cafe | Troy, MI | |
|
Muffins here are the tops! Very busy on Saturday mornings and
weekdays during the school year as its now a "trendy" favorite
of the high school crowd down the street. Well worth the effort.

||
| Country Chef | Troy, MI | |
|
Typical family style restaurant with big portions for moderate
prices. A good bet for breakfast.
|
||
| O'Grady's Irish Pub | Troy, MI | |
|
A fan of fish and chips, I give this place my approval. Housed in
the building formerly holding Troy landmark "Herschel's",
O'gradys has a loyal following and can be counted for respectable
Irish food. A little dark with the lighting lasttime I went there
though.
|
||
| Spectadium | Troy, MI | |
|
Overpriced food and an overbearing atmosphere detracts from
this place. Only sports fans who can't get PPV and want a loud obnoxious
atmosphere should go. Sorry, to be so negative but I can't give
this restaurant a good rating.

||
| Pizzeria Due | Chicago, IL | |
|
Due's is my favorite of the Chicago Pizza joints... good crust,
and I like the stuffed aspect.
Great salad and not too far from the "Magnificent Mile"... stop
in for lunch... dinner gets crowded.
|
||
| Maggiano's Little Italy | Oak Brook, IL | |
|
Expensive and a wait but well worth it! Located in the Oakbrook
Mall, Maggiano's is quality served hot. I suggest the alfredo
or the pasta with meatballs. One serving is enough for two people.
But as I said before, be prepared for 30min+ wait.

||
| The Enchanted Castle Restaurant | Lombard, IL | |
|
Great place for kids with wall to wall video games and rides to
keep them entertained for a while. The pizza here isn't very good
(very greasy). Whenever we come to Lombard with kids, we make
sure we take them to Enchanted Castle, but eat before we go.

||
| Cheeseburger In Paradise | Lahaina, HI | |
|
Named after the famous Jimmy Buffet song, you probably wouldn't
be too surprised if you saw him in here. Great burgers and very
reasonably priced considering you're on Hawaii. Right on the
waterfront with a good breaze coming in, C.I.P. is a good place
for lunch while out on the town. I suggest a cheeseburger with
a side of Maui onion rings. Make sure you get the rings- Maui onions
are sweet almost like an apple and extremely easy to eat.
