| Red Geranium Restaurant | New Harmony, IN | |
|
This is a wonderful spot for a very special occasion. The food
is delicious, and a variety of uniquely prepared entrees are
served. Their chicken and seafood dishes are quite good. It's
a quiet, romantic place with rustic charm. During the summer,
they offer combination packages that include dinner and a play,
and the theater performances in New Harmony are very well done.
It's a wonderful, relaxing way to spend a summer evening!

| Dog N Suds | Evansville, IN | |
|
The atmosphere is fun and nostalgic. You order from a phone at
your table inside or from your car outside. The server was friendly
and helpful, but the food needs more attention. The fries and
kids' corndogs were extremely greasy -- so much so that our kids
wouldn't eat theirs. The footlong coneys with cheese sauce were
good but a bit on the soggy side. All in all, we thought it cost too
much for what we got, plus I could do with a lot less grease!! It
will be awhile before we return.

This place has a fun atmosphere and good, simple food. Their sandwiches
are good, as is their pizza. It's a nice change of pace!

They have wonderful meals and large servings. Their meatloaf
is quite good, and their vegetables and dinner rolls are delicious.

| The Homestead Restaurant | Newburgh, IN | |
|
The Homestead has been a favorite for years. It has wonderful
home-cooked meals, served family-style. This is a great place
for special celebrations, such as birthday and anniversary
parties. Their fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and
corn fritters -- very unique and tasty -- are all very good.
|
||
| The Cooker | Evansville, IN | |
|
The food is very good, with large portions, but the service is
not always the best. They have some unique vegetable side dishes
that are quite tasty. Their meatloaf, fish, and chicken are all
good choices, and their dinner rolls are delicious.

| The Pub | Evansville, IN | |
|
This place is very popular for business lunches. I particularly
like their gyros and salads. It's a fun atmosphere but can be pretty
noisy and smokey.

||
| Old Mill | Evansville, IN | |
|
Old Mill has a neat atmosphere and has great buffets, as well as
family-style meals. Their fried chicken is very good, as is their
charbroiled chicken. Try to sit by the water wheel. Our kids love
this special treat! This is also a good place for group functions.
We have attended many such events here, and all were well-handled.

||
| O'charleys | Evansville, IN | |
|
O'Charley's has wonderful lunch specials. Try their Buffalo
Chicken sandwich! Their salads and loaded potato soup, as well
as their rolls and baked potatoes, are also great. Kids eat free
here, and they get to color and recieve balloons. Our children
love this place!

||
| Bockelman's | Evansville, IN | |
|
This place is a good choice for "home-cooked, " family-style
meals. Their fried chicken is great, and even though I'm not generally
a slaw person, I enjoy Bockelman's slaw. Try this place when you
want a change of pace from chain restaurants.
|
||
| Rounders | Evansville, IN | |
|
For a change of pace from chain restaurants, try Rounders. They
have good pizza and a laid-back, family-friendly environment.
No need to dress up. This is nice for a casual meal.

As the name would imply, Steak and Shake has great shakes!! Their
burgers, taco salads, fries, and onion rings are also quite good.
Their open 24 hours a day.

| Jungle Restaurant | Evansville, IN | |
|
This is nice place for a fun evening with friends. They have a wide
variety of mixed drinks and delicious desserts! It's also a popular
place for business lunch diners downtown. Check it out!

| Dilegge's Restaurant | Evansville, IN | |
|
Di'Legge's has wonderful Italian food -- we think about the best
in the area!! Try their stuffed shells or manicotti. Everything
we've had here has been great!
|
||
| Gerst Bavarian Haus | Evansville, IN | |
|
This is a fun place to go for something different! The building
used to be an old-time hardware store, and they've used this setting
to create a neat atmosphere for dining. In addition to their many
German dishes, their chargrilled chicken (marinated in a wonderful
special sauce) is also quite a taste treat. Their house salads
are great. Try the chunky french dressing.

||
| Hacienda Eagle Plaza | Evansville, IN | |
|
This is the third and newest location of this popular local Mexican
restaurant. This is a very popular place and for good reason.
The food is great and fairly reasonably priced compared to many
restaurants. They have good lunch specials. Our whole family
loves this place. Try their signature wet burrito. Their grilled
chicken is also quite good, as are many of their combination meals
and their taco salads.

||
| Rio Bravo | Orlando, FL | |
|
After a full day at a theme park, this restaurant was a wonderful
treat. The service was excellent as was the food. Even our finicky
two-year-old enjoyed her kid's meal. Their tacos al carbon are
a good choice.
|
||
| Red Lobster | Clarksville, TN | |
|
We always enjoy the cheddar bay biscuits and ceasar salad at Red
Lobster, plus the crab legs and shrimp combination dinners are
usually good choices. However, on our most recent visit, the
crab legs were not up to par. Service is hit and miss.
|
||
| Turoni's Forget-Me-Not Inn | Evansville, IN | |
|
Our family really loves Turoni's!! We just wish it were a non-smoking
restaurant. The food is excellent, especially their house pizza.
The salads are also quite good. It's a favorite place to go with
friends. It's a fun place, but be prepared to wait as it's also
quite popular!

||
| Marx Barbeque & Catering | Evansville, IN | |
|
This place has good barbeque. We especially like to take turkeys
there to have them barbequed for us. They do a wonderful job! The
whole family likes it!
