| Blue Angel | Philadelphia, PA | |
|
The room is just unreal at the Blue Angel. It has a funky French
Bistro feel, very comfortable. The food is excellent, and they
have an excellent selection of Beer. Just about everything is
served with frites. I realize it is a French restaurant, but to
pay $32 for a steak and have it come out of the kitchen completely
mounded under a portion of french fries that could easily serve
4 people is a bit strange.

| Race Street Cafe | Frenchtown, NJ | |

Great food, great service. Small dining room decorated with
funky oil paintings by local artists. BYOB. Standout menu items
are the Roast Duck with Pickled Plums (nice asian flair), the
homemade Toasted Coconut Almond Ice Cream, and the Warm Goat
Cheese Salad. Reserve in advance, they fill up quick.

| Il Portico | Philadelphia, PA | |
|
We had a most enjoyable meal at Il Portico. Our server expertly
navigated us through the menu, and made several excellent suggestions.
I started with Carpaccio of fresh tuna seasoned with anice and
lemon, very delicious!!! For dinner I had the Veal Chop which
was cooked perfectly and finished with a very delicate mederia
sauce. A romantic room, and very attentive professional service.

| Arnaud's Restaurant | New Orleans, LA | |
|
Bad! Bad! Bad! Everything that could have gone wrong on our trip
to Aurnaud's did. They could not honor our reservation time (a
small wait at the bar). After being seated our server asked if
we would like more drinks and we agreed. Our server returned (without
drinks) about 15 minutes later to take our order. Our first course
was served in a timely manner, but our drinks still had not arrived.
My wife finally flagged down our server and he seemed as though
we were bothering him. Our drinks arrived after we finished our
first course (which, by the way, was very good - The Shrimp Remoulaude
- nice and spicey with great flavor). We sat for an eternity(over
35 minutes) with dirty plates in front of us. My wife wanted to
leave. A bus boy comes by our table and strips it clean, our server
presents us with dessert menus, we had not yet recieved our dinner.
Long story short, our food arrives and it was just absolutely
disappointing. I had duck with a white bean salad that was on par
with good cafeteria food, terrible presentation, and just bland.
We called a manager the next day to complain (something I have
NEVER done before, I'll chalk a bad meal up to an off night for a
restaurant before I'd ever complain), the manager was not on
duty. The person we spoke to took our information, but we never
heard back from the establishment. In my opinion, an over-rated,
over priced restaurant, with poor managerial skills. Aurnaud's
is resting on its past reputation to their detriment. TOURIST
TRAP!!! AVOID!!!

| Overtures Restaurant | Philadelphia, PA | |
|
One of the most romantic rooms in Philadelphia! Knowledgeable,
attentive staff - very professional. The food is very good as
well. I recommend the Diver Scallops appetizer, just melts in
your mouth. The crab cake appetizer was a little underwhelming,
rubbery rather than crispy (I think they may brown them off in
advance, then microwave them to order, I don't know for sure).
The center cut filet was excellent, and the rack of baby lamb melts
in your mouth. We will definitely return!!!! BYOB.

| The Grill Room | New Orleans, LA | |
|
A class act!!! The nicest dining experience I have ever had. We
were addressed as "Mr + Mrs Vandenburg" by everyone from the Busperson
to the Captain of our table. Beautifully appointed dining room.
Professional and detail oriented service. The food is great.
Bring you wallet. Dinner with drinks and tip topped $250, but
that was soup to nuts!!! Don't think, just go and treat yourself
to an indulgent evening of pampering and great food.

| Kipperz | Avalon, NJ | |
|
A great restaurant for Avalon!!! The food and decor are both very
modern and tasteful. Standout items on the menu would be the Roast
Duck with Apples and Maple, also The Steak Aldean (mushrooms,
molasses, and dijon - sweet and spicey). The room is set up like
fine dining (crisp linen, professional service), but is very
relaxing. The Bistro at Kipper'Z (next door) is a great deal.
They concentrate more on catering and take out. The dining room
isn't quite as formal as the main room, but still very nice (READ:
a great place to take the kids). A softball sized Jumbo lump crab
cake, with salad and bread $10 bucks!? My days of eating pizza,
hoagies, and cheese steaks are over in Avalon. BYOB, and definitely
reserve early.

| Susanna Foo Chinese Cuisine | Philadelphia, PA | |
|
I was underwhelmed by the service, we almost felt like we were
being ignored. Perhaps it was an "off" night judging from other
reviews on this site. The food was very good and the dining room
is beautiful. Orchids on the tables are a very classy touch. Chocolate
dipped fortune cookie presented with check.

| 410 Bank St Restaurant | Cape May, NJ | |
|
Chef Sing is a true visionary. A great blend of flavors, textures,
colors!!! Beautiful presentations!!! The Prime Rib is a presidential
cut, slow smoked, and crusted with cajun seasonings. The New
Orlean BBQ Shrimp is probably one of the best dishes on the menu
- served in shell, quite messy but well worth it!! Spicey and totally
legit!! The real disappointment is they stuff you in like sardines.
Too many "greedy" tables.

| Nola Restaurant | New Orleans, LA | |

I dine at NOLA whenever in New Orleans. Reserve early or you'll
be disappointed. Great service and top notch food. The BBQ shrimp
appetizer with the sweet potato/pecan pancake is a true delight!!!
You must dine here!!
